Shen Nian stopped and looked at Qi Yunzhi, then at the other two. It was obvious that the question Qi Yunzhi had asked was one the other two wanted to know the answer to as well.

"She definitely got off easy, but there was nothing we could do. We don’t have any evidence!"

Qi Yunzhi looked at Shen Nian in surprise. She hadn’t expected that to be Shen Nian’s answer.

"Right now, she still hasn’t snapped out of it. If she had, she wouldn’t have been so easily threatened by a single sentence from me. Don’t forget, everyone in that grove just now, aside from us, was on their side. Even if we actually went to report them, we couldn’t produce any evidence."

"I guess... you’re right!"

"Yeah, so you should be satisfied that we at least got an apology out of her."

"You have a point, but I still think she got off way too easy!"

When she thought of the vicious look on Cao Yuqing’s face, and then remembered that just yesterday she had been acting like they were the best of friends, Qi Yunzhi felt a knot of unease in her stomach.

"Got off easy? Not necessarily. Just you wait and see."

Shen Nian just smiled and didn’t answer.

"Oh, come on, Xiao Nian, just tell me! Or you could just tell Chunhua! Chunhua, hurry and tell Xiao Nian you want to know, too!"

Qi Yunzhi tugged on Wang Chunhua, itching with curiosity to get the answer out of Shen Nian.

However, Wang Chunhua was clearly different. She was filled with nothing but gratitude for Shen Nian, so now, no matter what Shen Nian said, Wang Chunhua believed she had a good reason for it.

So, even if Shen Nian didn’t say anything, she surely had her reasons.

After she spoke, Wang Chunhua even smiled at Shen Nian. She already looked much better than she had when Cao Yuqing was bullying her earlier.

Qi Yunzhi looked at Wang Chunhua, then turned and asked Chu Lingxiu. She had originally thought that if she could just get one of them on her side, it would be enough. But in the end, after she asked, both of them just shook their heads.

Unable to find any allies, Qi Yunzhi could only sigh in resignation.

"Fine, fine. None of you will play along. You’re no fun at all!"

After Qi Yunzhi finished speaking, Wang Chunhua lowered her head in thought for a moment, then walked up to the other three.

"Thank you for coming to find me, and thank you for standing up for me."

After she spoke, Wang Chunhua gave the three of them a deep bow, her gratitude overflowing and plain for all to see.
