Chapter 567: Punishment

Ji Yuan was worried that she would be dragged along with Yun Xirou and was willing to go all out, even if it meant disclosing something close to her. Sure enough, as soon as she finished speaking, Teacher Xu, along with the other male teachers, looked awkward. They all looked at one another, not knowing what to say. This was the first time they had run into such a situation where a female student had disclosed such a thing in front of them.

What were they supposed to do in such a case?

Teacher Xu, especially, was shocked, as he was the one dealing with this mess. He looked at Ji Yuan with a stunned look and parted his lips, not knowing what to say to the girl. What did she even mean by disclosing such a private thing? He opened and closed his mouth, but before he could even think of a thing to say, Yun Xirou, who was standing right next to him, jumped on Ji Yuan!

"You! How shameless can you be? You actually pushed the blame on me? I am telling you, this is not over!" Yun Xirou could do nothing to Han Ruochen after all; the woman was stronger than her, but she did not need to worry about Ji Yuan. Who was Ji Yuan? She was her classmate, and she did not have any hold over her. What was more, the two of them did not have a good relationship—she was just like a pawn that could be used and discarded. Since this girl decided to abandon her first, then she could not blame her.

Yun Xirou was really angry about being abandoned, and coupled with the anger that she had been suppressing after being slapped in the face by Han Ruochen, it could be said that Ji Yuan actually provoked her at the wrong time! Not only was she hit in the face by Yun Xirou, but she also received a blow to the stomach because Yun Xirou had kicked her.

"You–Yun Xirou! You are the one who asked me to do it!" Ji Yuan stumbled back and groaned, but she did not forget to push the blame on Yun Xirou. Getting hit was not a big deal, but she could not get a bad remark! If a bad remark was left on her report card, then it would affect her university choice! That would be too terrible.

Unlike Yun Xirou, who was doted on by her family, she was the fifth daughter of the Ji family; if she failed to get into a good university, then her parents would most likely have her get married! Ji Yuan did not want to get married. She wanted to study hard and get a job. This was her only chance to get a better life. She could not allow such a thing to happen to her!

She would never live the life that her elder sisters had lived.

However, she underestimated Yun Xirou’s ruthlessness. As soon as she finished speaking, Yun Xirou slapped her twice in the face. The crisp sound of the slaps echoed in the room. "You are the one who is shameless! You filed a complaint because you were upset about Han Jianyou’s rejection. Now you dare to say that you did it because I asked you to do it? I am telling you—you can forget about putting this blame on my head alone."

"You!" Ji Yuan was embarrassed when Yun Xirou brought up the matter of her getting rejected; she pushed herself off the floor and pushed Yun Xirou. "I will fight to death with you!"

The two girls were in a desperate situation, and neither was willing to give up. The two of them started fighting against one another and started pushing and pulling one another’s hair, which caused quite a stir in the staff room. At first no one knew what to do but then a few female teachers snapped out of their daze and started pulling the two apart.

"What are you two doing?"

"Is this how students are supposed to behave in the school?"

Teacher Xu was particularly angry. Lying and then trying to have a love affair at school. Even though most of the students were of age, he did not like the idea of his students dating one another. What was more, these students did such a thing because they were jealous of Han Jianyou! This was something that he could not accept.

"Do you want me to call your parents?" he snapped angrily when he saw that they were causing such trouble. His words were more effective, and the two girls stopped fighting. Once the two of them had calmed down, Teacher Xu took a closer look at them. He did not know what was wrong with his students. They were all good kids in his eyes, but all of a sudden—his face was quite dark with disappointment as he looked down at Yun Xirou and Ji Yuan along with the three male students.

The young teacher’s sense of justice burned hot. He was quite offended that he had been manipulated into almost punishing an innocent and hard-working student. What was more, this was quite a grave crime! Han Jianyou was such a talented student, which meant that as long as he paid more attention to him and gave him special classes and notes, there was a good chance that he might be able to rank first in the exams! This was a very important thing.

And yet Yun Xirou was about to mess it all up. If he was not fortunate enough to run into Han Ruochen, who knows what might have happened?

"Yun Xirou," Teacher Xu’s voice boomed through the staff room, sharp and uncompromising. "Do you even know what you have done? Conspiring with other students to slander a classmate, fabricating evidence and attempting to ruin his reputation is a severe violation of school ethics! I assure you that it does not matter who was the one who caused this mess. You all will receive a serious demerit."
