Old Madam Li was stunned by the slap that was delivered to her. At first, she did not understand what was happening, but when Old Madam Han slapped her for the second time, she realised what was going on. Immediately, she snapped out of her daze and started to fight back against Old Madam Han. "You! Old Han, what do you think you are doing? How dare you hit me?"

However, Old Madam Li had not worked ever since her two sons got married. Forget about sweeping the floor; she did not even pick up a glass of water. How could she be a match for Old Madam Han? She was swiftly beaten up by Old Madam Han, who worked every day at home and on the beach.

Feeling enraged, Old Madam Li covered her cheek and glared at Old Madam Han. "Old Han, I am going to sue you. How can you beat someone up like this? Do you really think that there is no law? I am going to file a formal complaint against you."

"Go ahead and sue!" Old Madam Han was not scared at all. She even puffed her chest out and sneered at Old Madam Li before saying to her angrily, "You think that I am scared of you? Old Li, you were in the wrong first. This matter is a family matter and has nothing to do with you. So why are you getting involved in it? Secondly, do you even know what this man has done? No, you don’t! All I can tell you is that if I disclose everything, then even the policemen will stand on my side and take you as his accomplice."

Her gaze turned contemptuous as she added, "And you will have to squat by the fence if you dare to stand up for him."

Old Madam Li wanted to fight back, but then she paused and glanced at Qiao Tingyan. If Old Madam Han was lying, then Qiao Tingyan would have definitely fought back, but the man not only stayed quiet, but his expression turned worried, as if he was worried that Old Madam Han would say something she shouldn’t. Old Madam Li was not a fool. With just one look, she realised that there was something amiss with Qiao Tingyan. She immediately pursed her lips and stopped fighting.

She had no idea what Qiao Tingyan had done, but she knew that it must be something big or else Old Madam Han wouldn’t look so confident.

"Humph, who cares?" Old Madam Li rolled her eyes. Even though she knew that she had done something wrong, she did not want to admit it. However, the speed with which she ran away was enough to prove that she had been scared silly.

Once she was gone, Old Madam Han turned to look at Qiao Tingyan. She narrowed her eyes and began, "Qiao Tingyan, you better turn around and leave. If you don’t, then I will let everyone know that you have brought a woman home."

Qiao Tingyan’s expression turned ugly. He clenched and unclenched his fists before saying, "Do you really have to be so rude? I didn’t bring that woman home because I wanted to; it’s all because your granddaughter is useless and cannot give birth to a child for me." Qiao Tingyan did not want to listen to Old Madam Han’s accusation. Where was he wrong? It was Han Xuehan’s body that let him down!

She should be the one feeling guilty and not the other way around.

As soon as he finished speaking, Old Madam Han said irritably, "Then you can divorce my Xuehan. Qiao Tingyan, don’t think that you are the only one who is smart and everyone else is a fool. You want another woman to carry your son, but you don’t want to lose a strong and hard-working woman either. I know my granddaughter, and she is not the kind of person who will shirk away from her responsibilities. I have to say that your plan is really good!"

Qiao Tingyan flushed red in embarrassment. Indeed, he wanted to keep Han Xuehan working for his family while enjoying Xiao Ai on the side. He wanted to keep both women by his side. This way he would be able to enjoy the best of both worlds!

Once she finished speaking, she closed the doors and blocked Qiao Tingyan out of their house. She had no intention of letting Qiao Tingyan meet Han Xuehan. Her eldest granddaughter was a fool who could not fight back. If she were any better than Han Ruochen, she would not have asked her to take care of her. It was all because Han Xuehan was too soft-tempered!

Qiao Tingyan, who was blocked outside, was furious. He glared at the Han family’s old house; he was furious, but he dared not bully that old hag. She was right about one thing: Qiao Tingyan was very much scared of Han Yong. That man was not only tall, but he was equally strong. What was more, Han Yong used to roam around with the thugs of the village when he was young. Thus, he had his own connections.

But was he going to go back without taking Han Xuehan with him? He did not want to. He had travelled for so long and even wasted so much money; how could he return without Han Xuehan?
