"Are you leaving right away?" Qin Wenhao asked.

"Mom, if I’m not back for the New Year, make sure you guys have a nice meal. Also, if I’m still not back by the eighth day of the festival and Qin Wenhao has to leave, just stay here for a while longer. If worse comes to worst, you can just stay here. I’ll have to come back in a month or two anyway."

’Qin Wenhao wanted to say that he would return to the military family compound with his mother-in-law and the two kids.’

But Mrs. Fu beat him to it. "Don’t you worry about that. If you aren’t back, the children and I won’t leave yet. We’re doing just fine living in Beijing City, and you come back sometimes anyway."

’Mrs. Fu was thinking about the two properties they had here. It would be a real shame to just leave them sitting empty.’

"Hurry up and go pack."

Fu Mingxue went back to her room, and Qin Wenhao followed close behind.
