Reborn in the 80s and Remarrying an Officer, Let the Ungrateful Cry!
Chapter 574: In the Future, Bury Me with Your Dad
"Grandma!"
"Grandma!"
The two children shouted, then eagerly struggled to get down from their father’s arms.
Qin Wenhao set them down.
The moment their feet touched the ground, the two little ones ran straight to their grandma.
Mrs. Fu quickly bent down and hugged the two little ones.
"Oh, my darlings, Grandma missed you so much!"
"Grandma, I missed you too."
"Grandma, I missed you too!"
The two little ones eagerly chimed in.
One said he missed her very, very much.
The other said she’d been missing her lots and lots.
Mrs. Fu was incredibly touched.
Qin Wenhao watched the heartwarming scene, not wanting to interrupt.
He strode straight into the kitchen.
He had bought a lot of groceries that morning and planned to make a simple meal of three dishes and a soup.
’Oh, right,’ he thought. ’My wife has been out all morning. I wonder if she’ll be back for lunch.’
After cuddling with the two children, Mrs. Fu remembered she had to cook.
She said to the two little ones, "You two go play for a bit. Grandma’s going to make you something to eat."
The two little ones obediently answered in unison, "Okay!"
They hadn’t been home for a few days and hadn’t played with their own toys either. They missed it all.
The brother and sister scurried back to their room.
Mrs. Fu was about to enter the kitchen when Qin Wenhao, who had come out to wash vegetables, stopped her.
"Mom, let me show you what I can do for lunch. Don’t fight me on this. Go get some rest. I’ll call you when it’s ready."
When Mrs. Fu heard this, she wouldn’t have it.
"Let me—"
"Mom, don’t argue with me about this. Just give me a chance."
"Then I’ll be your assistant," she insisted, unable to stand the thought of sitting in her room while her son-in-law did all the work.
Qin Wenhao had no choice but to say, "Don’t you have laundry to do? Why don’t you go do that first? I can handle the cooking by myself."
Seeing his persistence, Mrs. Fu could only nod. "Alright, then."
She had originally planned to do the laundry after lunch.
But since her son-in-law was being so considerate and wouldn’t let her cook, she had no choice but to do the laundry first.
When Fu Mingxue got home, she happened to see her mom hanging up the freshly washed clothes.
She quickly called out, "Mom, you’re back!"
Mrs. Fu clutched her chest, then glared at her daughter. "You scared me! Don’t give me a heart attack, startling me like that."
"Oh, come on, you’re healthier than most young people. A little scare isn’t going to make you sick. Besides, you’re not that easily frightened. Anyway, how was the trip? Did you bring Dad’s ashes back with you?"
If she hadn’t been so concerned about this, Fu Mingxue might not have come home for lunch.
It would have been better if she hadn’t brought it up.
The moment she did, Mrs. Fu’s face filled with anger, and she immediately recounted everything the Fu family had done.
After listening, Fu Mingxue’s face turned ashen with fury.
She had thought her mother was just missing her father. Or perhaps the incident with those people from Xiangjiang coming to claim kinship had kept him on her mother’s mind.
’What you think about by day, you dream of by night.’
She never expected that they had actually dug up his grave.
Those people from the Fu family were absolutely brazen. They were truly inhumane bastards.
"But Mom... you said you were going to bring Dad’s ashes back to Beijing, didn’t you? Why didn’t you?"
She couldn’t quite understand.
’Does this mean we have to go back to our hometown?’
Mrs. Fu sighed.
"Originally, that was my plan. But then I thought about it. Although the Fu family is inhuman, your father did grow up in that small town. That’s where he belongs. He would probably prefer it there, so I decided not to move his grave. I moved him to a different spot instead. I’m sure he’ll like it. In the future, when I die, you can bury me there with your father."
