Reborn in the 80s and Remarrying an Officer, Let the Ungrateful Cry!
Chapter 532: Dreaming
Someone stepped forward and answered, "Yes, this is all the testing data for the various related components."
Fu Mingxue examined the data carefully—
Then she took out a pen and began making notes on the data she had reviewed.
After all, the data for some of the materials wasn’t very good and needed improvement.
Other data, however, was acceptable.
Just like that, two hours went by.
She had a class that afternoon.
"Alright, I’ll take the remaining documents back with me and try to finish reviewing them within two days. As for the ones I’ve already looked over, I’ve marked the problems and my proposed solutions for improving the materials. You can go ahead and continue testing."
Director Liu was the first to reply, "Of course. Go ahead and take the documents with you."
Of course he trusted Fu Mingxue. After all, she was the one who had provided the improved blueprints.
The thought that she might leak key data never even crossed his mind.
’Just think about who she is.’
’She’s from the research institute!’
However, he was quite proud of himself for his decision to send her reward over early today.
’See? Miss Fu is already working even harder, isn’t she?’
’Of course, she’s a very good and responsible person to begin with. She isn’t just doing this for the money.’
Fu Mingxue was unaware of his thoughts.
After packing the thick stack of documents into the large bag she had brought, she said goodbye to the engineers.
She hurried back to the university.
She hadn’t even had a sip of hot tea before the bell for class rang.
She had to get to class immediately—
Fu Mingxue didn’t go home for dinner.
She stayed at the university to review the data—
She didn’t leave until around ten o’clock.
Mrs. Fu wasn’t asleep.
As soon as Fu Mingxue got back, she saw her mom was still sitting up.
"Why are you just sitting there, Mom? You weren’t waiting up for me again, were you?"
Mrs. Fu shot her a sidelong glance. "Who’s waiting for you? I just took a nap and dreamed about your father."
Fu Mingxue was stunned by her mother’s words.
She had rarely heard her mother mention her father over the years.
"Why get so sentimental all of a sudden?"
Mrs. Fu: ...?
’What makes her think I’m being sentimental?’
Seeing that her mother wasn’t speaking, Fu Mingxue simply sat down beside her.
"What did Dad say to you in the dream? Was he upset that we didn’t attend that old hag’s funeral?"
Mrs. Fu pushed her away. "Go on, shoo. Your father would never be like that."
"I dreamed that your father said his grave was dug up by the Fu family."
Originally, the army was going to bury him in one of their cemeteries.
But the Fu family absolutely refused.
They insisted on taking his ashes back to be buried in their hometown.
She had thought at the time—that would be fine, too. At least it would be closer for her and her daughter to visit his grave for the Qingming Festival.
Although such visits were frowned upon at the time.
But they could still manage to do it secretly.
For the first few years, that’s exactly what they did—visiting in secret.
But things got better in recent years.
This year, however, she and her daughter had moved into the military family housing, so they didn’t go back for the Qingming Festival.
In truth, the matter had been weighing on her mind.
She had been thinking that maybe she’d find a chance to go back for the festival next year.
She just never expected to have such a dream that night.
Fu Mingxue: ...?
The corner of her mouth twitched.
"Mom, you’ve just been dwelling on that old hag’s death. You probably overthought it and ended up having a dream like this. The Fu family wouldn’t be that brazen."
If they really dared to dig up his grave—she would flay the entire Fu family alive.
Not a single one of them would be spared.
Mrs. Fu thought so as well.
But she just had a very unsettling feeling.
"My girl, what if I make a trip home? I could bring your father’s ashes back, and we’d never have to return. We could just give him a new grave here."
