Chapter 501: Paying a Visit

Fu Mingxue really liked dumplings.

The filling her mom made was especially delicious.

Watching her wolf down her food, Mrs. Fu couldn’t help but say, "Slow down. No one’s going to steal it from you."

’It’s like she hasn’t eaten in days.’

"This is so good!" Fu Mingxue exclaimed, giving a thumbs-up.

Mrs. Fu rolled her eyes at her.

Ignoring her, she put a few dumplings in a bowl for each of the two little ones.

The twins were very obedient. They chirped in unison, "Okay, Grandma!"

Fu Mingxue didn’t rush off to catch up on sleep after she finished eating.

With her stomach full, the wave of drowsiness had passed, and she wasn’t so tired anymore.

So she called over the two little ones, who had also finished their dumplings.

She took out the other four.

"Here," she said. "Play with these. There’s a prize if you finish them."

The two little ones were overjoyed.

"Thank you, Mommy!" Qin Hao said cheerfully.

Qin Keke’s way of showing thanks was even more direct.

She stood on her tiptoes, wrapped her arms around Fu Mingxue’s neck, and planted a big, loud kiss on her cheek.

Then the two siblings ran off to open the puzzles and play.

Mrs. Fu came in. "Why aren’t you in bed yet?"

"In a bit. I want to show them how to do it."

Mrs. Fu rolled her eyes at her. "Those two are plenty smart. They don’t need you to teach them. Let them figure it out on their own."

’It’s not like they have to master it the day they get it.’

"You should hurry and get some sleep. Don’t you have to go to school tomorrow?"

Fu Mingxue thought that made sense.

She got up, ready to head to bed.

Just then, there was a knock at the door.

Mrs. Fu went to open the door. Standing outside were the grandmother and grandson they had met at the Forbidden City.

She was taken aback.

’Why have they shown up at our door?’

’Wasn’t I clear enough that day? Why are they still so persistent?’

"Ma’am, hello. We met the other day," Rong Jun said, speaking first.

Mrs. Fu looked at him. "And you are...?"

"Well, Fu Mingxue helped my grandmother the other day, and she’s been thinking about it ever since. We came specifically to thank her!"

He motioned for the bodyguard behind him to bring the gifts over.

"We can’t accept this. My daughter just helped her up a little. How could we take such valuable things? If you’ve come to give us these, then I’m sorry, but you shouldn’t come in."
