Chapter 492: Going Out to Play

「The next day.」

The sound of voices outside woke Fu Mingxue.

She opened her eyes and checked her watch, surprised to see it was six-thirty.

But then she remembered it was her day off; this was a rare chance for her to sleep in.

She listened closely to the voices in the courtyard. ’Is that my mother-in-law?’

’Wait, is she here this early?’

Not daring to stay in bed any longer, she quickly dressed and got up.

When she walked out of her room, she saw her mother-in-law talking with her mother.

"Mom, why are you here so early?"

"It’s all because of Qin Yue and Qiaoqiao. Those two kids knew we were going out today and were so excited they couldn’t stand it. They woke up super early and rushed me to come over."

The brother and sister were so excited last night that they went to bed late, and today they still woke up extra early.

They even rushed through breakfast.

’There was no need to be *this* early, was there?’

"It’s normal for kids to get excited. After all, it’s not often they get to go out and play. We should take lots of pictures of them later."

"Right, lots of pictures! My photography skills are actually quite good," Mrs. Qin said, full of confidence.

"Okay then, we’ll let Mom do the shooting later. I’m going to go wash up."

Fu Mingxue walked over to the sink and began to brush her teeth and wash her face.

During breakfast, Mrs. Fu urged Qin Yue and his sister to eat a little more.

Qin Ruqiao nodded in agreement with her brother.

Mrs. Qin immediately said, "You all go ahead and eat. Don’t worry about them!"

She wanted to feed the twins, but they were very independent now.

They refused her help, insisting they could eat on their own.

Because it was already quite early, and then breakfast took up some time, an hour had passed by the time they were ready to leave.

"Let’s go! Time to head out!" Fu Mingxue said, picking up one of the twins.

Mrs. Fu picked up the other.

Meanwhile, Qin Yue and his sister walked ahead, holding hands.

Just as Mrs. Fu finished locking the door and the family was about to set off, Qin Wenshu’s car pulled up.

He stopped the car and stuck his head out. "I made it just in time! I didn’t think you’d be leaving this early. A moment later and I would have missed you."

"What are you doing here?" Mrs. Qin asked, surprised.

At that, Qin Wenshu pushed open the car door and hopped out stylishly.

"To be your protector, of course! Plus, when you get tired, I can take over carrying these two little rascals."

He pointed at the twins.

Hearing this, Qin Keke corrected him in her small, milky voice, "We’re not little rascals, we’re babies. We’re good kids! Mommy and Grandma said so."

Her response made Qin Wenshu laugh. "Right, right, you’re both good kids."

Then he turned to Mrs. Fu. "Auntie, let’s get in the car! I’m your bodyguard for the day—the kind you can order around at will. So please, don’t stand on ceremony with me. Protecting you is my mission today."

Mrs. Fu smiled and nodded. "Alright then, we’ll be counting on you to protect us today!"

Everyone piled into the car.

The two grandmothers and three children squeezed into the back seat.

Fu Mingxue sat in the front passenger seat, holding Little Keke.

Once the car was moving, Qin Wenshu finally spoke up. "Sister-in-law, I know Beijing City like the back of my hand. I grew up here, after all. So how about this: let me plan our itinerary for the day."

Seeing him volunteer so enthusiastically, Fu Mingxue naturally had no reason to refuse.

"Alright, we’ll follow your lead today!"

Not long after their car drove away, another vehicle pulled up.
