Chapter 452: She Will Have a Brilliant Tomorrow

Fu Mingxue believed she had a bright future ahead of her.

After leaving the school, she remembered she had to visit the Qin family soon.

This time, there weren’t any particularly nice gifts in her space.

So she rode her bicycle to a store.

When she got home, she saw her mom bustling about.

Not only was the clothesline strung across the yard full of laundry,

but the yard itself seemed even tidier than when she had left.

Her mom was even out hoeing the small vegetable patch.

Seeing her mother working without a break, Fu Mingxue’s mouth twitched.

"Mom, don’t you ever rest? Isn’t the house already quite clean?"

"It’s clean enough, but there’s still a lot to tidy up. By the way, did you get everything sorted out at the school?" Mrs. Fu asked.

Fu Mingxue nodded. "Yes, it’s all taken care of. I start classes tomorrow. We’ll head over to the Qin family’s place at four-thirty."

"Alright." Mrs. Fu mulled it over. They couldn’t go empty-handed. "What should we bring?"

She tried to think of what she could take from the things she had brought with her.

If all else failed, there was still time to go out and buy something.

Fu Mingxue quickly said, "Mom, I’ve already got it covered."

Hearing this, Mrs. Fu was surprised. "What did you get?"

Fu Mingxue pointed to several mesh bags hanging from her bicycle.

"See? I bought them at the store. I got two bottles of Maotai, some health supplements, and two cartons of cigarettes. I also got some candy and cookies for the children."

Mrs. Fu thought that sounded about right.

She had considered everyone in the Qin family, young and old.

’Wait, is someone missing?’

"Then you didn’t buy anything for your sister-in-law?"

"I bought a bolt of fabric for her. I didn’t get any food, though. She’s pregnant, and if she ate something I gave her and had a bad reaction, wouldn’t that just be my good intentions backfiring?"

’She has terrible morning sickness right now, so what could I even buy for her to eat? If something went wrong, wouldn’t I get the blame?’

’It’s a thankless task that could easily end badly—no way I’m doing that.’

Mrs. Fu thought about it and realized her daughter had a point.

"Fabric is fine, then."

’Pregnant women can’t eat a lot of things. It’s better to be safe!’

Just then, the twins came out.

They were rubbing their eyes, their faces still creased and red from sleep. They had obviously just woken up.

Perhaps children have a natural dependence on their mothers.

Even though Fu Mingxue wasn’t home often, the moment they saw her, they walked right over to her.

"Mommy, hold me!" Qin Keke’s voice was soft and sweet.

She even stretched out her arms.

Seeing her daughter act like this made Fu Mingxue’s heart melt.

She immediately swept her up into a hug.

"My sweet girl."

Just then, Mrs. Fu chimed in, "Don’t just hold her! Get their padded jackets on them, or they’ll catch a cold."

The two little ones had just woken up from their nap.

They had woken up in a place that wasn’t their familiar home.

On top of that, their familiar grandma wasn’t there.

So the two children were a little panicked.

They had immediately scrambled off the bed and run outside.

But the moment they saw their mother, their need for her trumped their need for their grandma.

Fu Mingxue looked down. ’Oh, that’s right—they aren’t wearing their little jackets!’

So she quickly scooped one up, took the other by the hand, and herded them back into the house.

It was much warmer inside.

Mrs. Qin had come over early that morning to warm up the rooms.

Fu Mingxue was about to put their little padded jackets on, but then she remembered they hadn’t had a bath in three days.

Besides, it was still early before they had to leave for the Qin family’s house.

So she decided to give the two of them a bath first.
