Chapter 410: Success

Mrs. Fu hadn’t heard her daughter come home last night.

She had fallen asleep after a while.

So she just assumed her daughter had come back so late that she had already fallen asleep waiting up.

In the morning, figuring she had come home so late, Mrs. Fu decided not to wake her.

She was even quiet while making breakfast and sweeping the yard.

But now it was half past seven, and she still wasn’t up.

At this, Mrs. Fu grew anxious.

’How could she possibly sleep in so late?’

’Could she be sick?’

At this thought, she quickly put down her work and went to knock on the bedroom door. "Mingxue, are you up? Mingxue?"

Normally, there would have been an answer, but there wasn’t a single sound from inside.

’Could she be... unconscious?’

The thought sent Mrs. Fu into a panic, and she quickly pushed the door—

As it turned out, the door wasn’t even latched.

And on the bed, the quilt was neatly folded.

Obviously, no one had slept in the bed last night.

Mrs. Fu paused.

’Well, that was a false alarm.’

Suddenly, a thought occurred to her. She walked out to the yard—and sure enough, the bicycle wasn’t there.

Mrs. Fu was bewildered.

’I must be really out of it. How did I not even notice that big bicycle was missing?’

’Wait, if she didn’t come home last night, where did my daughter sleep?’

’She didn’t really work all night, did she?’

She couldn’t help but sigh. ’The pay is high, but this is just too hard on her!’

’She’s so busy, she hasn’t had a single proper day to rest.’

Fu Mingxue returned home.

She saw her mom washing bedsheets, while the two little ones were squatting in the yard, playing.

"Mom, I’m home!"

Hearing her, Mrs. Fu immediately dropped the wet bedsheet.

"You’re back now? Did you work overtime all night?"

"Yeah, it had to be finished. I’m going to take a shower first. Mom, could you make some breakfast for me? I’ll eat in a little while."

"Okay." Mrs. Fu’s heart ached for her daughter. She hurried to the kitchen to whip up some breakfast.

When the twins playing in the yard saw their mother return, they stopped what they were doing and immediately walked toward Fu Mingxue.

"Mommy!"

"Mommy!"

"Hey, my little treasures, you missed Mommy, huh! Hold on, let Mommy park the bike first."

Fu Mingxue parked her bicycle.

Then she picked up the two little ones.

Just then, Mrs. Fu poked her head out of the kitchen. "Don’t hold them now. Hurry up and get washed up. Eat breakfast soon and then go get some sleep."

’You can’t abuse your body like this, even when you’re young!’

Fu Mingxue didn’t kiss the two little ones this time.

After all, she hadn’t washed up yet.

She put the two children down. "You two go play for now. Mommy’s going to take a shower first, and I’ll come hug you later."

The two little ones were very well-behaved and didn’t make a fuss at all.

Fu Mingxue took a quick shower.

She was still feeling energetic and wasn’t all that sleepy yet.

Mrs. Fu had just finished setting out breakfast. "Hurry and eat. These eggs poached in brown sugar are great for getting your strength back. Eat all three of them."

"Mom, that’s too many eggs. Two is enough next time."

When Mrs. Fu heard this, she wanted to roll her eyes.

’Other people wish they could have even one more, and here she is, complaining it’s too many.’

"Do you have to go to work this afternoon?"

Fu Mingxue shook her head as she ate. "No, not this afternoon. I’m taking the day off. I’ll go back tomorrow."

Mrs. Fu was happy to hear she was taking a day off.

"Then go to sleep right after you eat. I’ll make you dumplings for lunch."

’And I’ll make some chicken soup tonight to help her recover.’

’She absolutely can’t let her health collapse from overwork.’

Fu Mingxue did like dumplings.

"Okay."

After finishing breakfast, Fu Mingxue didn’t rush off to sleep. Instead, she spent some time playing with her two children.

It wasn’t until Mrs. Fu urged her that she finally went to sleep.
