Reborn in the 80s and Remarrying an Officer, Let the Ungrateful Cry!
Chapter 407: I’m Not Even One Percent as Good as Her
Li Zhao suddenly recalled something.
"Master Yang? The one who was injured this morning?"
He’d heard about it that morning. Apparently, Master Yang had an accident—a pretty serious hand injury. But after going to the hospital to get it bandaged, he had come right back to the factory.
At the time, Gu Zhen had even commented on how dedicated Master Yang was to his job.
"That’s right." Chang Qingze nodded.
Then he added, "Our Group Leader Fu is terrifyingly smart. When she first came to the factory, she spent a few days learning from Master Yang, and now she’s already on par with a Level 8 Machinist."
Li Zhao: ...?
Gu Zhen: ...?
The two of them wore the exact same shocked expression.
’A machinist? And on par with Level 8 Technology?’
’My God, is she even human?’
It took a General Technician years of diligent study and practice to reach Level 8.
They had to climb the ranks, one level at a time.
Otherwise, how many Level 8 Machinists could one factory possibly have?
And Group Leader Chang had said she was on the same level as Master Yang—but Master Yang’s skills were actually beyond Level 8.
As the two of them walked away, they were both lost in thought.
’Can one person really be that incredible?’
"Brother Li, that Group Leader Fu is way more incredible than you!" Gu Zhen said. ’She’s a total all-rounder.’
’She can do this, she can do that.’
’My God... Group Leader Fu is hands down the most capable woman I’ve ever seen.’
Li Zhao’s tone was somber. "She is indeed incredible. Don’t compare me to her—"
"I’m not even one percent as good as she is."
Gu Zhen: ...?
His eyes filled with astonishment.
It couldn’t be helped; this was the first time he’d ever seen Brother Li so lacking in confidence.
But it was true.
’Compared to her, he really did fall a bit short.’
’And after a comparison like that, I feel like I’m no different from a useless piece of scrap from the materials department.’
「Soon, it was time for dinner.」
Master Yang hurried over to the still-meticulously-working Fu Mingxue. "Little Fu, take a break. It’s not like you can finish it all right now. Let’s eat first. It’ll give your eyes a chance to rest."
Fu Mingxue stopped.
Then she switched off the machine.
"Alright."
She had to admit, her eyes were indeed starting to feel strained.
Master Yang walked over to look at what she’d been working on all afternoon and couldn’t help but marvel once again. "Little Fu, you were born to be a machinist. It’s such a shame—"
Fu Mingxue smiled. "Master Yang, we’re all just bricks for society—we go wherever we’re needed."
Her words made Master Yang laugh.
He didn’t forget to give her a thumbs-up.
’Just look at her,’ he thought. ’She’s so young but so clear-headed. That’s what you call having a grand perspective.’
"Master Yang, your hand is so badly injured. You should go home for the day. You don’t need to stay and watch over things tonight. I’ll be fine on my own."
Fu Mingxue could see that his face had turned a pasty white.
He would occasionally hiss in pain—and though the sound was faint, she still heard it.
After all, ever since she had consumed the Constitution Pill, all of her physical attributes had slightly improved—including her hearing.
Master Yang still hesitated when he heard this.
Even though Fu Mingxue hadn’t made a single mistake, he was still worried.
This material was very rare. If even one piece was ruined, the loss would be significant.
If he was here, at least he could keep an eye on things.
Thinking of this, his tone became firm. "I’m fine."
Seeing his insistence, Fu Mingxue didn’t press the issue.
"Then let’s go eat first!"
"I won’t be going with you. My family is bringing me dinner in a bit."
His hand was injured.
He needed to eat lighter food, and his family was going to bring him some soup.
When Fu Mingxue heard that, she nodded. "Alright. I’ll go eat then."
