The next day, Qin Wenhao had wanted to let his wife sleep in, so he didn’t wake her.

But as it turned out, he saw she was already up bright and early.

"Why didn’t you sleep a little longer?"

They hadn’t gone to bed until almost one-thirty last night.

And now she was up before six-thirty.

’How many hours of sleep did she even get?’

He was genuinely worried about his wife’s health. Even if she was young, she couldn’t just abuse her body like that, could she?

"I woke up when I’d had enough sleep. What’s for breakfast? I smell buns... you didn’t make them yourself, did you?"

Qin Wenhao shook his head. "To be precise, they’re pan-fried buns. They’ll be ready in a moment."

Fu Mingxue was taken aback.

’He made his own pan-fried buns?’

’Good heavens, did he have to be so capable!’

’Wouldn’t it be so much easier to just buy a few from a shop outside?’

Besides, she thought the meat buns sold outside were pretty delicious, too.

Regulations weren’t as strict these days, so there was a huge variety of breakfast snacks to choose from.

"Hurry and wash up. By the time you’re done, they’ll be ready to eat. Pan-fried buns have to be eaten while they’re hot."

The aroma grew more and more fragrant, making Fu Mingxue’s mouth water.

She was truly getting hungry.

"Alright, I’ll go brush my teeth and wash my face then."

’Who would have thought the man she married was becoming such a good homemaker!’

Just as Fu Mingxue finished washing up, the pan-fried buns Qin Wenhao was cooking on the stove were finally ready.

He placed the buns on a plate and brought them to the dining table, along with a bowl of steamed egg with brown sugar for Fu Mingxue.

Looking at the breakfast spread before her, Fu Mingxue couldn’t help but laugh. "Are you trying to fatten me up like a pig?"

Qin Wenhao said, "Even if you were a pig, you’d be the most beautiful one."

Fu Mingxue immediately shot him a glare.

’Who wants to be the most beautiful pig?’

’If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.’

The pan-fried buns, however, were absolutely delicious.

"Where did you learn to cook like this? You’re almost as good as a professional."

Hearing that, Qin Wenhao felt his morning’s hard work had all been worth it.

"If you like them, then eat up."

And Fu Mingxue really did like them a lot.

They weren’t just fragrant; the bottoms were also delightfully crispy.

Just then, someone knocked on the main gate.

Qin Wenshu’s booming voice rang out, "Brother Wenhuo, Sister-in-law, open the gate!"

The moment Qin Wenhao heard Qin Wenshu’s voice, he immediately told Fu Mingxue, "Honey, ignore him. Just keep eating."

’Is there something wrong with that guy, Qin Wenshu? Does he have to show up at someone’s house so early in the morning?’

Seeing his disgusted expression, Fu Mingxue’s mouth twitched.

"You should probably go open the gate. A few more bellows like that and he’ll wake up all the neighbors."

The incessant knocking completely shattered Qin Wenhao’s good mood.

With a dark expression, he stalked over to the gate and opened it. "What’s wrong, getting too old to sleep in?"

Qin Wenshu was bewildered.

’Why was he getting blasted the moment he arrived?’

"Bro, if I remember correctly, you happen to be just a tiny bit older than me—"

’Why else would I call you ’Bro’ instead of ’Little Bro’?’

At that, Qin Wenhao’s face grew even darker.

He couldn’t stand people calling him old.

After all, his wife was so young and fresh—wasn’t this just another way of saying he was an old man who’d robbed the cradle?

"What are you here for?"

The disgust in his eyes was practically tangible.

"Ah, I’m here to see Sister-in-law. It’s important."

Qin Wenshu paid no mind to his brother’s foul expression.

He strode right past him and into the courtyard.

The moment he stepped inside, he was hit by the overwhelming aroma of savory meat.

"Sister-in-law, what are you eating? It smells amazing—Whoa, my god! Are those pan-fried buns? I want some, I want some—"

He walked over and snatched one right off the plate.

Qin Wenhao’s expression turned thunderous.

’He had spent all morning painstakingly making those for his wife—what right did this oaf have to eat them?’
