Still, Teacher Fu was really something else. So capable and accomplished, yet she was willing to marry Qin Wenhao, a man with two kids.

Even though Qin Wenhao’s actions were noble, very few decent women would be willing to just become a stepmother like that.

And Teacher Fu herself was already very successful, and so young too.

Yet she was willing to marry Qin Wenhao, who had two children.

You had to admit—Qin Wenhao must have accumulated some serious karma in his past life to have this kind of dumb luck now.

Zan Zi once again felt that guy, Qin Wenhao, was just too damn lucky.

How did he manage to marry someone as wonderful as Teacher Fu?

Qin Wenze gave Zan Zi a ride back to the residential compound on his bicycle.

From there, Zan Zi headed home by himself.

He had to organize all the difficult problems he couldn’t solve, so he could ask Teacher Fu tomorrow—

When Qin Wenze got home, he didn’t see any family members in the living room, so he went to his own room.

Gao Lan saw him and approached him tenderly. "You’re back!"

Qin Wenze nodded. "Yeah."

Gao Lan glanced at his expression and asked softly, "How is my sister-in-law? Did she agree to come for dinner tomorrow?"

"She’s coming. She’ll be here at 5:30 tomorrow. By the way, what have you decided about my sister-in-law’s suggestion? The one about me finding someone to tutor you?"

Qin Wenze thought his sister-in-law’s suggestion was a good one.

Since Gao Lan wanted to go to university so badly, and she’d already failed the exam twice, it could only mean her foundational knowledge was too weak.

She definitely couldn’t do it on her own.

Gao Lan’s expression stiffened.

Then she shook her head.

"No, that’s not necessary. I can just study on my own. There’s still a year, after all. I think I can do it."

"If I really can’t pass then, I’ll just give up. I won’t try again. From now on, we can just live a good life. It’s a little too quiet at home right now, so we can give the two kids a little brother or sister."

Although Gao Lan was fond of the two children Qin Wenze had with his ex-wife and would certainly never abuse them, she definitely wanted to have a child of her own.

A boy or a girl, either would be fine.

’If he and I don’t have a child, what will happen to me in the future?’

A child was the bond that tied a husband and wife together.

If they didn’t have a child—it would make her feel like they were just roommates sharing a life, not a real family.

Besides, if she didn’t have a child, would the Qin Family ever truly see her as one of their own?

There was already a huge gap between her and Qin Wenze’s sister-in-law. When the time came, how could she, a childless stepmother, survive in the Qin family?

Maybe she could have a baby first.

After all, if she were pregnant, she wouldn’t have to go to work, so she could focus on studying. She’d have more time to review.

’But how can I bring this up with Qin Wenze?’

Qin Wenze had told her before—because his ex-wife had hurt his daughter, causing the girl both physical and psychological trauma.

He had married her to better care for his two children.

So, he had told her upfront that they shouldn’t have children for the time being.

If she brought up wanting a child now—Qin Wenze would definitely be unhappy and wouldn’t agree.

’So, if I get pregnant "accidentally"—he wouldn’t blame me, right?’

As she thought of this, a glint appeared in her eyes.

Qin Wenze didn’t see it.

Hearing Gao Lan refuse again, he didn’t press the issue.

"Alright then. If you really don’t want a tutor, we’ll do it your way."

Gao Lan peeked at his expression and, seeing no sign of anger, secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

"Then you can get back to your books. I’m going to go check on the children."

Gao Lan immediately nodded. "Okay, you go on ahead!"

The moment he was gone,

She quickly walked over to the bedside table and opened the drawer—
