Reborn in the 80s and Remarrying an Officer, Let the Ungrateful Cry!
Chapter 292: Don’t Be Soft-Hearted and Spare Her
Qin Wenhao felt nothing for the Lan family.
Whatever happened to them, they deserved it.
Compared to everything his little niece had suffered—this was nothing!
An adult’s broken leg would heal in half a year, at most.
But his Qiaoqiao had not only undergone surgery, she would be haunted by this for the rest of her life.
And if she couldn’t move past the trauma, she might never speak again.
"I’m leaving soon. Take me to the station."
Qin Wenshu grew anxious when he heard this. "Brother Wenhuo, why are you leaving so soon?"
Qin Wenhao shot him a sidelong glance. "It’s just my mom and the two kids at home. If it were you, would you be able to relax?"
Qin Wenshu: ...?
’He calls his mother-in-law ’Mom’ more intimately than if she were his actual mother. It really rolls right off his tongue.’
"—You’re right, I wouldn’t rest easy either."
"Go get the car. My train is at nine o’clock."
Qin Wenhao planned to stop by the hospital first.
Qin Wenshu glanced at his watch when he heard the time. It was only seven-thirty, so they had plenty of time.
"Okay, I’ll be here around eight then."
Qin Wenhao nodded.
Then he headed out.
When he arrived at the hospital, both Mrs. Qin and Qin Wenze were there.
Mrs. Qin glanced at him. "What are you doing here?"
Mrs. Qin hadn’t left the hospital since her granddaughter woke up.
Aunt Li had even brought her a change of clothes.
"My train is at nine."
"You’re going back already?" Mrs. Qin considered it for a moment. "I suppose it’s for the best. It can’t be easy for your mother-in-law taking care of two kids, and Mingxue is so busy with work."
She had to admit, they had her younger son to thank for finding Qiaoqiao so quickly this time.
After all, none of them had believed that Lan Qingman, the girl’s own mother, was capable of something so deranged.
Qin Wenhao nodded, then looked at Qin Wenze.
"Lan Qingman or someone from the Lan family might ask you to sign a letter of forgiveness. Don’t be a fool. Also, Lan Mingxuan’s leg was broken by his wife’s family."
This was the very reason he had come to the hospital—he would not allow Qin Wenze to make a foolish mistake.
After all, Lan Qingman was Qiaoqiao’s biological mother. If Qin Wenze were to actually sign a letter of forgiveness, even if she wasn’t released, she would very likely receive a much lighter sentence.
Mrs. Qin was delighted to hear this. "Good! Serves him right. Are those two getting a divorce now? Hah, this is divine retribution."
"And another thing—"
She turned to look at Qin Wenze. "If anyone from the Lan family comes begging, and you let that Lan Qingman off the hook, then you are no son of mine."
Qin Wenze: ...?
’What was with them? Did I seem like that kind of person?’
He replied with a sigh of resignation, "I won’t let her off. And I won’t forgive her."
Mrs. Qin snapped, "You’d better mean it."
’It seemed that—while her younger son’s personality wasn’t very likable, he was principled and far more reliable than her older son. Sometimes, there was nothing wrong with being headstrong.’
Having said what he came to say, Qin Wenhao prepared to leave.
He had wanted to say goodbye to his little niece, but she was asleep.
"I’m off! You two handle everything else here."
Qin Wenze immediately replied, "Don’t worry about anything here. I’ll handle it."
He would follow up with the police and make sure those responsible received the punishment they deserved.
Qin Wenhao had just gotten home from the hospital when Qin Wenshu pulled up in his car.
"Brother Wenhuo, let’s go!"
