Reborn in the 80s and Remarrying an Officer, Let the Ungrateful Cry!
Chapter 253: Little Angel
Mrs. Qin immediately said, "I’ll go with you."
Mrs. Fu figured she must miss the two little ones, so she nodded. "That’s fine."
Just as the two of them were getting ready to head next door,
they happened to run into Wang Xiang, who was carrying the two children over.
"I’ve brought the children over for you. I’ll go get the chairs in a minute."
Mrs. Fu and Mrs. Qin immediately stepped forward and took the two children from her.
Mrs. Fu then made the introductions. "This is my in-law, Mother Wenhuo. My dear in-law, this is Wang Xiang. We’re so grateful to her for helping watch the children lately."
"Thank you, dear," Mrs. Qin said with a gentle smile.
Wang Xiang immediately waved her hands dismissively. "It was no trouble at all. I only watched them two or three times. We’re neighbors, after all. It’s the least I could do."
"Well, you two chat for a bit. I’ll go get those chairs."
After Wang Xiang left, Mrs. Qin looked down at the child in her arms and noticed how much her little granddaughter had changed.
She felt a bit heavier in her arms, too.
’Looks like my in-law has been taking great care of her.’
"Keke, do you remember Grandma?"
"Grandma!" Qin Keke immediately piped up sweetly.
This made Mrs. Qin absolutely ecstatic.
"Oh my goodness! In just a short time, Keke is already enunciating so clearly."
And she wasn’t the least bit shy around her, either.
’This little one actually remembers her grandma.’
Mrs. Fu smiled and gently patted Qin Hao’s back. "Hao Hao, you say ’Grandma’ too."
Little Qin Hao also called out sweetly, "Grandma!"
"Yes, good boy, Hao Hao!" Mrs. Qin was absolutely beaming.
’As expected, children are the cutest. Not like Qin Wenhao—the sight of him just makes you want to smack him a few times.’
Just then, Wang Xiang returned, carrying two chairs.
"Ma’am, I’ll just put these here. I’d better get back to start dinner."
"Alright." Mrs. Fu needed to start dinner as well.
She carried Qin Hao over to one of the chairs and sat him down securely.
"My dear in-law, you don’t have to keep holding Keke; she can sit on her own. The bathroom is over there, you should go take a shower first. Oh, and that room is for you. Go take a look while I get started on dinner."
Mrs. Qin thought about it. ’I am pretty grimy right now. It’s not good to hold a child like this.’
’What if I pass some germs to the baby?’
She set Qin Keke down on the other chair.
"Be a good girl, Keke. Grandma’s going to take a quick shower, then I’ll come back and hold you."
She grabbed her suitcase and went to the room her in-law had pointed out.
A glance inside revealed a clean and tidy room.
She found some clean clothes, then headed to the bathroom—
Meanwhile, Qin Wenshu played with the two children for a while before heading to the kitchen to help with the fire.
Seeing him sitting there stoking the fire, Mrs. Fu quickly said, "Oh, dear, you don’t have to do that. I can handle it myself."
"It’s no problem, Ma’am. I actually love tending to the fire. Don’t mind me, just let me do it."
Mrs. Fu: ...?
Half an hour later, a table full of food was served.
"Wow, Ma’am, your cooking smells amazing!" Qin Wenshu was already starving, and now his stomach was rumbling uncontrollably.
"Then be sure to eat a lot," Mrs. Fu said, her face wreathed in smiles.
Then she turned to Mrs. Qin. "My dear in-law, hurry and eat! Try some of my cooking."
"Your cooking has always been wonderful." Mrs. Qin picked up a piece of fish and put it in her mouth. It was just as delicious as she’d expected.
After they had all finished eating, Mrs. Qin insisted on washing the dishes.
But Mrs. Fu stopped her. "You just arrived. I can wash them myself. Go be with the children."
As for Qin Wenshu, he announced he was going out for a walk.
