Reborn in the 80s and Remarrying an Officer, Let the Ungrateful Cry!
Chapter 249: Picking Up People
After a three-day train ride, the two of them finally disembarked.
Qin Wenshu felt like he had been through an ordeal.
"Sigh, we’re finally here. Aunt, how are we going to get there? We didn’t tell anyone to come pick us up."
Mrs. Qin snapped, "We’ll walk! How else? Did you think the streets would be lined with cars?"
Qin Wenshu: ...?
"Alright, then. Let’s leave the station first."
’Maybe if we’re lucky, we’ll run into a fellow villager with an oxcart after we leave the station.’
There were only two suitcases, and naturally, Qin Wenshu carried them.
After the two of them left the train station, Qin Wenshu started looking left and right.
Just then, a joyful voice called out from not too far away, "In-law, over here!"
Qin Wenshu subconsciously looked toward the voice.
When he got a clear look at the person, he became incredibly excited. "Aunt, look! It’s Sister-in-law’s mom—"
Mrs. Qin immediately slapped the back of his head. "Call her ’Auntie’."
Then she looked at Mrs. Fu, who was walking toward her. "My dear in-law, what are you doing here?"
Mrs. Fu said at once, "Mingxue said you might arrive today. She looked up the train’s arrival time, so I came to pick you up."
"Auntie, Sister-in-law is so amazing. But really, Auntie, you didn’t have to come. My aunt and I could have just walked."
It was a long way from the train station to the military base.
’She doesn’t have a car, so her coming here isn’t much help.’
Mrs. Qin nodded as well. "That’s right, my dear in-law. You really didn’t have to come get us. We could have gotten there ourselves—"
Mrs. Fu immediately cut in, "It’s no trouble. I rode my vehicle over. It’ll be perfect for your two suitcases. Come on, let’s get on first."
Mrs. Qin and Qin Wenshu were a bit dumbfounded by her words. ’What vehicle? A bicycle?’
’Or did she borrow an oxcart?’
’Or a handcart?’
Though confused, they followed Mrs. Fu outside.
And then they saw a very peculiar tricycle.
It wasn’t large.
But it looked like it could seat two people.
"This tricycle?" Mrs. Qin asked, puzzled.
She thought Mrs. Fu had borrowed it from the military base.
Mrs. Fu immediately said with great pride, "Mingxue assembled it herself. But you can’t tell anyone about this. It’s just for us to know."
"Don’t worry, this tricycle is sturdy and well-built. It can handle two or three hundred pounds with no problem."
The two from the Qin family were truly stunned.
"Auntie, are you saying Sister-in-law really built this tricycle with her own hands?" Qin Wenshu was incredulous.
’If that’s true, then Sister-in-law’s skills are just too incredible.’
"That’s right," Mrs. Fu said, full of pride. "She also put together a small electric bicycle that’s as fast as a car."
’Some things... she couldn’t tell outsiders, but couldn’t she at least let her own daughter’s in-laws know how amazing she was?’
Qin Wenshu: ?...
His admiration was like a great, surging river, flowing endlessly.
’Speaking of which, could he also marry a wife this capable and smart?’
Mrs. Qin had always known her daughter-in-law was exceptionally smart, but she never imagined she could even assemble a tricycle.
She said sincerely, "Mingxue really is amazing."
In all their conversation since meeting, no one mentioned the injured Qin Wenhao.
They put the suitcases in the tricycle, and there was still room for their feet.
Qin Wenshu was very excited. "Auntie, let me pedal. You and my aunt can sit."
"—Alright." In her heart, Mrs. Fu was actually a bit reluctant.
She was afraid Qin Wenshu would break it.
So she said tactfully, "You can try it first. If you can’t manage, I’ll take over. I’m quite strong."
