Director Geng said directly, "Xu Ming? Isn’t he organizing it all right now?"

Fu Mingxue shook her head. "None of those are it. I found the closest match when I went home last night. Come with me."

Director Geng’s eyes immediately lit up.

He instantly followed her into the office.

He even thoughtfully closed the door.

"Where is it?"

Fu Mingxue pulled the blueprints right out of her bag, making Director Geng wince.

"These blueprints are so important, and you just carried them around like that?"

Fu Mingxue was speechless, then shot back, "How else was I supposed to bring them? In a safe?"

Director Geng was at a loss for words.

He figured it was a good thing for a young person to have a strong personality.

Especially a talented one.

"Group Leader Fu, the blueprints—may I have a look?"

Fu Mingxue handed them right over.

"Here, take a look. Have the experimentation team test this material using these proportions. If it’s a success, I want to use it in our engine model."

"Is this the material they were using?"

"No. After analyzing the material they used, I developed my own formula. I believe that if my material is successfully produced, it will be even better than theirs."

Director Geng’s eyes gleamed, his whole body trembling with excitement. "R-Really?"

"Yes. You can produce both their version and mine, then run a comparative experiment. The results will speak for themselves."

"Alright, I’ll go arrange it immediately." Director Geng took the blueprints, ready to leave.

He knew Xu Ming had the other documents.

Seeing he was about to go, Fu Mingxue called out, "Director Geng, wait a moment. There’s something else."

"What is it?" Director Geng asked curiously.

"Well, could you help me contact the bicycle factory? I’d like to get some of their discarded parts. Damaged ones are fine, too."

Upon hearing this, Director Geng asked, "What do you need those for?"

"I want to build a tricycle for my mom to use with the child."

Director Geng was baffled.

"Can’t you just buy one?" He seemed to recall they were being manufactured somewhere.

Not here, though.

The bicycle factory—it seemed they weren’t making them now, either.

"One I build myself is different. It saves money."

Fu Mingxue’s words made the corner of Director Geng’s mouth twitch.

Her last salary and two bonuses totaled more than an ordinary worker could earn in several years. Did she really need to pinch pennies over this?

"Fine, I’ll contact them for you."

"Then thank you, Director Geng. Oh, and about that material I gave you, please have them produce it as soon as possible."

"That’s a given." He was extremely anxious about it himself.

It wasn’t just him; the Beijing Research Institute and the Aerospace Research Institute were both watching closely.

There was no time to lose.

Meanwhile, Wang Xiang brought Cui Meihong to Sister Wang’s office.

When Sister Wang saw the two of them, especially Cui Meihong with her red-rimmed eyes, she was instantly filled with a sense of foreboding.

"Y-You two... is something the matter?"

Wang Xiang, never one to beat around the bush, said directly, "We have a problem, and we need Director Wang to help us solve it."

Sister Wang was taken aback.

"It’s like this. You know how Cui Meihong’s mother-in-law secretly took her daughter back to the countryside? That mother-in-law is a nasty piece of work. If her daughter ends up in that woman’s hands, her life will be miserable, won’t it?"

"So, Little Cui has to go back to the countryside to get her child."

"But isn’t Hao Rong away on assignment? She can’t go back home with her son by herself; that’s not safe! What if something happens? But if she leaves the boy here, there’s no one to look after him. That’s why you need to help Little Cui solve this problem."

Sister Wang was speechless.
