Chapter 685 - 238: You Kicked Me, You Have to Be Responsible for Me

Some people get intimate behind closed doors, but this couple was right in the living room.

The two elders stared, dumbfounded, as their eldest grandson’s hands began to wander. Realizing Jie Jingshan was still there, Grandma thought, ’They’re setting a bad example for her!’ and reached out to cover the girl’s eyes.

But Jie Jingshan acted as if no one was there, tiptoeing toward the staircase without disturbing the couple locked in a passionate kiss.

"..." Grandma.

"..." Grandpa.

’How can she be so calm?’ The grandparents exchanged a look, starting to think their granddaughter must have been thoroughly desensitized by now.

Following Jie Jingshan’s lead, Grandpa also began to tiptoe toward the staircase as if no one was there.

Grandma frowned. ’What does that old coot think he’s doing?’

Seeing that things were about to get heated, Grandma didn’t retreat like her husband and granddaughter. ’It’s one thing for us to walk in on them,’ she thought, ’but it would be mortifying if the staff saw this.’

"AHEM, HEM, HEM." Grandma cleared her throat loudly.

The sound instantly startled the inseparable pair. Qin Mei snapped back to her senses, pushing and kicking at Jie Jingchen.

"Hss..." Jie Jingchen let out a pained grunt.

Realizing where she had kicked Jie Jingchen, Qin Mei froze. Forgetting her embarrassment and shyness, she asked worriedly, "Are... are you okay?"

’I know I put some force into that kick,’ Qin Mei thought, ’and that area is so fragile. Please don’t let me have broken it. I just wanted to stick him with a few needles to get him to behave for a few days, not to make him behave *forever*.’

"Oh, my dear grandson!" Grandma instantly felt a pang of regret. She had only meant to remind them to take their business to the bedroom, not to provoke such an extreme reaction from her grandson’s wife. ’I hope she didn’t break him!’

Jie Jingchen was curled up on the sofa, in too much pain to even speak.

Seeing her grandson’s reaction, Grandma grew even more worried. "My boy, let me have a look. Let me see if anything’s broken."

"Grandma!" Qin Mei stared at her in horror. ’Let Grandma look? But... but... Jie Jingchen is a grown man! That’s not appropriate, is it?’

"What’s there to be embarrassed about? It’s not like I haven’t seen it before." In her panic, Grandma was treating Jie Jingchen like he was still a little boy.

"Grandma, don’t be ridiculous," Jie Jingchen managed to say, gritting his teeth against the pain.

"How is that ridiculous? When you were little, I gave you a bath every single day. I’ve not only seen it, I’ve washed it for you," Grandma retorted.

Jie Jingchen was utterly mortified. Qin Mei gave a slight cough and, pushing past her own awkwardness, tugged on Grandma’s arm. "Grandma, he’s a grown man now. I know you’re worried, but... it’s really not appropriate for you to look. Why don’t you call Grandpa down to check on him?"

Jie Jingchen shot Qin Mei a glare. ’Thanks so much for the suggestion,’ he thought sarcastically.

"So fussy for no reason." Grandma gave Jie Jingchen a little shove. "Just wait, I’ll go get your grandpa."

"Grandma," Jie Jingchen called out, stopping her. Beads of pained sweat dotted his forehead. "Let Meimei look."

"Her?" Grandma looked doubtfully at the blushing Qin Mei. She was the culprit, but Grandma couldn’t very well blame the girl, since she was the one who had startled her in the first place.

"Is that... appropriate for me?" Qin Mei’s ears turned bright red. Doing this in front of an elder was making her terribly self-conscious.

"You’re my wife. You tell me if it’s appropriate," Jie Jingchen said through clenched teeth. ’How many times has this happened now? A few more kicks like this and she’s going to break me for good.’

Jie Jingchen also blamed himself for being so careless. ’After this happening several times, I still let her get me. How humiliating.’

’And Qin Mei... I’m a grown man, and she specifically aims for the one place you should never kick. Isn’t she worried? If she breaks it, how am I supposed to give her a life of marital ’bliss’?’

Seeing Jie Jingchen start to relax a bit, Qin Mei quietly breathed a sigh of relief. ’Just in case, I should probably check on it later,’ she decided. ’But not now. Not in front of Grandma. He might have the nerve, but I’m too embarrassed!’

"I’m not a professional," Qin Mei said, trying to find an excuse.

"Aren’t you researching medicine for... that sort of thing?" Jie Jingchen shot back.

Qin Mei hesitated. "That’s different."

"How is it different?" Jie Jingchen wasn’t about to let her off the hook.

Qin Mei stubbornly insisted, "It just is."

"What medicine?" Grandma asked, her curiosity piqued.

Qin Mei glanced at Jie Jingchen, who remained silent. She thought for a moment, then pulled Grandma to sit down beside her. She was prepared to explain it patiently, but she didn’t know where to begin. "It’s... medicine for that sort of thing."

"What sort of thing?" Grandma asked, looking lost.

Jie Jingchen saw they were ignoring him, so he closed his eyes and focused on enduring the pain. Qin Mei chose her words carefully. "It’s for... you know, the undesirable consequences of overindulgence, or if someone gets injured and can’t... you know... do *it*. The medicine helps them... regain their former glory. Or, for when someone reaches a certain age and finds themselves lacking the stamina. Also... Grandma, are you following me?"

Grandma rolled her eyes at Qin Mei. She’d been around the block; she wasn’t some naive young girl. After an explanation that direct, how could she possibly not understand?
