Chapter 68: So Expensive!

Mo Shiyan immediately turned his head to the side as he covered his mouth with a hand in order to hide the smile on his face. If Jiang Zihan found out, he would be very angry.

Jiang Zihan felt a bit weird of his sudden silence, but was quickly attracted by the beautiful design of the building.

"Brother Jiang, if there’s anything that you need to trade, you could come to the Hunter Trading Center to exchange it; it basically has everything that you might need," Shen Qingyi explained softly.

Jiang Zihan nodded in understanding. The auction was being held on the third floor. When they reached the entrance to the auction hall, a staff member from the auction house walked toward them and asked to see their invitation. Jiang Zihan took out the invitation that Ling Mengyao gave him from his spatial ring (an invitation could allow the holder to bring up to four companions).

After checking that the invitation was real, the staff member’s calm voice immediately turned respectful and handed them a number tag before stepping to the side and inviting them in. "Esteemed Hunter, please come in."

Jiang Zihan gently nodded his head before stepping inside with the others. There was another staff member who was waiting inside and led them to their seats.

There was a circular auction platform at the front of the auction hall, with the auctioneer already standing in the center of the platform. As time went on, there were more and more people coming in, until the auction finally began.

"Good afternoon, everyone! Welcome to the annual auction of the Lanhai City’s Hunter Trading Center. I am your auctioneer for today, Mu Jingling," she introduced herself with a joyful voice.

"Since everyone has arrived, I’m sure that you’re all familiar with the rules of this auction, so I’m not gonna waste our time repeating them again," Mu Jingling said.

After saying that, her tone suddenly turned cold as a powerful aura suddenly surrounded her. "However, if there’s anyone who dares to break the rules during this auction, I hope you understand the consequences."

The next moment, she talked with a cheerful voice again, letting out a gentle smile on her face. But after witnessing what had just happened, there wouldn’t be anyone in the hall who dared to underestimate her anymore.

"That woman is at least an A-Rank Hunter. The Hunter Trading Center certainly lives up to its reputation," Chen Tianyu said as cold sweat appeared on his forehead.

"After all of that said, let us bring out our first auction item," Mu Jingling said before she clapped her hands. A few seconds later, a wooden box floated in front of her.

She opened the box before explaining. "This is a B-Rank magical power regeneration potion. As the name suggests, it can help Hunters replenish a large amount of their magical energy while alleviating any small injuries that they have."

"As everyone knows, low-ranking regeneration potions would usually have some side effects while replenishing your magical energy. But this is a rare B-Rank potion. Not only can it completely restore their magical energy, but it could also return the Hunter’s physical condition to its optimal state."

As Mu Jingling had expected, her explanation immediately caused some chaos amongst the people. For people like them, just having the ability to replenish their magical energy is totally not enough, but if the potion could allow for their physical condition to reach their best condition without any side effects, that would be enough to move their heart.

"The starting bid is five thousand Star Dusts."

In less than thirty seconds, there were some people in the audience who quickly raised their bidding paddle.

"Eight thousand Star Dusts."

"Twelve Thousand Star Dusts."

The price continued to increase, while Jiang Zihan was stunned for a moment. His hands trembled a little when he reached for his pocket that contained his wallet. It seems like I’m actually here to see what an auction looks like in this world...

His expression was unchanged on the outside, but internally, he was already crying. However, his thoughts didn’t affect what was happening in the auction hall right now.

"Eighteen thousand Star Dusts, going once," Mu Jingling called out with a light smile on her face.

"Twenty thousand Star Dusts," Mu Jingling repeated, then asked, "Any higher bids?"

She received no response.

After waiting for a few seconds, she finally brought down her hammer before saying, "Sold."

After the first auction item had sold at such a high price, the atmosphere in the hall seemed to heat up immediately. Mu Jingling raised her hand to signal the staff to remove the potion before speaking with a bright smile on her face. "Congratulations to this gentleman for getting this B-Rank magical power regeneration potion."

"Next, let us look at the second auction item," she continued.

She lifted her hand, and in the next second, another wooden box materialized in front of her. "I believe that there would be many of you who would be interested in our next item. This is a core crystal that had been formed after the death of an A-Rank sea monster. As Hunters, I believe everyone here should understand what a core crystal means to monsters from the dungeon. They could be used to forge high-ranked weapons and equipment, and could even serve as the energy cores for many magical formations."

"Of course, what’s most important about it was that it had come from an S-Rank Dungeon," Mu Jingling explained.

The second her last sentence landed, the entire auction hall had erupted, as there were many Hunters who even stood up with surprise.
