Li Qing immediately stood up straight from the chair. He accidentally knocked the chair to the floor, but he didn’t even notice since his attention was all on Song Yuan’s words.

He tried to force a smile on his face, but realized that he was completely unable to do so. "Song Yuan... you must be kidding, right? How is that possible? How would a B-Rank dungeon suddenly turn into an S-Rank dungeon?" he asked, his voice trembling.

He asked multiple questions at a time, although even himself wasn’t sure if he was trying to seek confirmation from Song Yuan or merely talking to himself. However, deep in his heart, he understood that Song Yuan would never joke about something like this.

Song Yuan lowered his eyes. He clenched his fists on the table, but he understood that it wasn’t the time for grief, as there were still people waiting for them to save them.

He subconsciously moved closer to Li Qing. "No matter what, we cannot give up on their lives. They have only been inside the dungeon for around two hours, and if we could find an S-Rank Hunter who is willing to enter the dungeon and eliminate the monsters, they still have a chance," he said, his voice filled with anxiety.

Li Qing fell silent for a while before making his decision. "I’m also an S-Rank Hunter; I will go myself," he said at last.

Song Yuan’s eyes immediately widened in shock. Then he walked forward and yelled out, "Are you crazy?! The injuries caused by the last dungeon hunt haven’t even fully healed yet, and now you want to enter an S-Rank dungeon?"

"Did you forget that the doctor said that you cannot enter another dungeon within the next few years? We could just ask if there’s any other—"

Before he could even finish his sentence, Li Qing stopped him. "Who do you think would help us?" he asked calmly.

Song Yuan froze in place.

"This is an S-Rank dungeon; do you know what that means? Throughout history, there had only been around twenty S-Rank dungeons that descended to this world. However, every time it appeared, no one inside it survived, not even S-Rank Hunters."

"And even if we could find an S-Rank Hunter who is willing to risk their life to save Bai Lan and her students, by the time they reached the dungeon, they would most likely be dead already. We can’t afford to take that risk," Li Qing continued.

"Even so, I cannot agree to let you go. If I remember correctly, you could barely even use your magical energy, am I right? If you enter the dungeon, that would also cause you to lose your life without saving anyone," Song Yuan said, not willing to step back either.

Li Qing looked at him and let out a sigh before saying, "I am the principal of the Interstellar Ice Hunting Academy, and my responsibility is to protect my students. I have to go."

"Li Qing!" Song Yuan called out his name, his voice louder than before.

Li Qing walked forward and placed a hand on Song Yuan’s shoulder. "When I am away, the academy will be relying on you. Don’t worry, I will come back alive," he said, trying to comfort him.

"Wait—!!"

Song Yuan reached out to grab him, but could only catch a breeze of wind after Li Qing activated his magical energy and disappeared right in front of him.

"Damn it!" He cursed under his breath, then immediately pulled out the phone from his pocket, trying to contact every S-Rank Hunter he knew who might be willing to provide assistance.

He knew Li Qing’s physical condition more than Li Qing himself, and he knew that his body could not withstand even a single battle anymore, not to mention that it was an S-Rank dungeon.

Song Yuan didn’t really know what had happened after that. By the time he reached the location where the dungeon descended, it had already vanished. The only survivors were Li Qing and Bai Lan, both unconscious. After both of them had awakened from the hospital, no matter how he asked, they were not willing to speak a word of what had happened in the dungeon.

He just knew that ever since, Bai Lan’s teaching style had turned this way. No matter how many complaints she got, she was never willing to step back.

Back in the present, Li Qing sat back down on his chair and leaned against the backrest. He tilted his head up before resting an arm across his forehead. Then he opened his eyes and stared directly toward the white ceiling.

A light flickered through his eyes as he recalled what happened when he reached the dungeon that day. At last, he still didn’t have the ability to save his students.

"Breaking free from the past holding me back..." he murmured to himself as he let out a soft chuckle. "Maybe this is all the farthest I could reach with my life.

A tear slid down from his eye.

Jiang Zihan did not know how he returned to his dorm. His head felt dizzy, and his whole body hurt, especially his waist, feeling like it had been broken into two pieces.

"That teacher was absolutely cold-hearted. Oh... my waist!" he cried out in pain as he lay down on his bed, then immediately sat back up because of the agony.

The little "Jiang Zihan" in Mo Shiyan’s mind transformed into a little rabbit once again. Both of its rabbit ears drooped miserably, as the atmosphere around it felt sad. Tears were rolling down its cheeks as it licked its wounds alone.

Mo Shiyan could not help but let out a soft chuckle. That immediately caught Jiang Zihan’s attention, and he glanced toward him and asked loudly. "What are you laughing at?!"

Mo Shiyan gently shook his head before he ruffled Jiang Zihan’s hair and walked away to find the medical kit, placing it on the bedside table.
