Chapter 840: Upgrades, people. Upgrades
Chapter 840: Upgrades, people. Upgrades
ChatJK5 simply ignored his accusations.
Whatever. Now it’s time to start looking at what to buy… wait, I don’t have to. I can just click every single option HAHAHAHA!
Michael looked like a crazed mental patient, suddenly smiling without any rhyme or reason. This freeing feeling of buying everything in stock must have been the reason why there were shopaholics in his previous world. Living in decadence simply irresistible.
He didn’t even look at the options before he started purchasing them like crazy.
He bought the available [Vision] upgrade, finally being able to see a Maugnetic’s Aubility Power with a single glance. He’d be able to see their power and their cultivation instantly. The importance for this upgrade could not be overstated, which only goes to show how much he needed this spending spree.
He bought the [Weapons] options, allowing him to finally store more Switches inside, both on his Main Drone and subsequent Mini Drones. He also bought the subsequent upgrade for the [Unity Grenade], adding more firepower and lessening its cooldown.
He went over to the [Propeller] option, finally upgrading his Drone’s speed. It had never lagged behind in speed before, but that was only because it didn’t need to. Its stealth allowed it to basically ambush his enemies, hit them, and disappear from their sight.
But, as he learned with his fight against the Unity Creatures, there were definitely some Aubilities that could see through this stealth—especially those that were higher ranked than him. And he had a feeling that he would be facing those kinds of opponents real soon, especially with the motley groups here in New Sparta.
Next was the Drone’s [Frame]. He bought the Unity Shield upgrade, allowing his Drone to have its own form of defense.
Before, he was only able to protect the Drone with his own [Absolute Unity Shield] if he was piloting it directly. So when he was protecting his own body, the Drone was basically vulnerable to any attack. Sure, its Mithril constitution protected it against most forms of offenses, but that didn’t mean it was invulnerable.
He almost learned that the hard way. His Drone was very close to being destroyed during the obelisk’s test. He didn’t even know what would happen after that. Would he be able to build it back up, or would he have to start all over with another Mithril Artifact. He was very thankful he didn’t have to know.
Next was the [Expansion] upgrades. He bought that [Enlarge] and [Shape-Shift] option, which allowed for more versatility in all categories: offense, defense, and stealth. He could basically change his Drone’s shape in any form with these upgrades.
He could also buy more [Mini Drones], but he wanted to leave that for later. The same went with the [Pocket Dimension] upgrades. He could basically deplete all of his money with those upgrades if he wanted to.
So, he went on to the last upgrade option, [Allies].
[Mini Drone Link] basically allowed a Rebornian Maugnetic to attach a Mini Drone to their Mithril Artifact weapons, thereby imbuing it with powers and features that Michael purchased, including the [Unity Gun], [Maugnetic Vision], etc.
This was not only a second form of offense for the Rebornians, but it was also a way for Michael to keep track of them at all times. It wasn’t that he was worried for them, but he was worried because of them. Fudge especially. That slime definitely took advantage of him not caring what he did in the shadows to the fullest extent.
The [Weapon] upgrade, on the other hand, posed a much more upfront advantage for the Dragonborns. From its description, it said that this option would allow for future upgrades to their Mithril Artifacts, much like how he was doing right now with the Drone.
After that was the [Inhabitation] upgrade, which cost a hefty 5 drops. This unlocked a small Pocket Dimension within their Mini Drone Mithril Artifact, allowing them to ’inhabit’ it any time they wanted.
Damn… if the Drone wasn’t attached to their weapons, I could use the space to plant more Darkwood.
He quickly shook his head, noticing that his thoughts were filled with avarice. He didn’t want to be too greedy. If he took their Mini Drone’s Pocket Dimension, he was basically cutting off one of their safe havens.
That should be their own room that they could do whatever they wanted to do in. They earned it.
Now, the [Aubility] upgrade was much more beneficial to him. It cost 5 drops because it allowed him to basically borrow their powers for his own use! He didn’t know what that entailed, but he knew having another power at his arsenal was a tremendous advantage.
All in all, these [Allies] upgrades definitely cost the most during this spending spree, needing 44 of the 58 drops needed for those upgrades.
It made him realize how much more he had compared to what he could buy.
ChatJK5, why aren’t there more options popping up?
Even after buying everything in all the menus, most of them still had the [????] option. He thought he needed to buy all upgrades before it could unlock, but it was still hidden till now.
[The upgrades will refresh in 24 hours, 59 minutes, 55 seconds.]
Michael was fine with that. It gave him a feeling of superiority seeing that even ChatJK5 couldn’t keep up to his massive upgrade session.
This just leaves me with 72 drops left…
His eyes then glazed over to the [Pocket Dimension] upgrades. The next [Isolated Room] cost 5 drops, which was reasonable.
I’ll buy this upgrade first, then I’ll see how much the next one is.
He hovered over to the option and bought the upgrade.
[Pocket Dimension: 2 rooms]
—Subspace ><
—Isolated Room = ><
——Expansion = 1+
—New Rooms = 6+
—?????
The cost changed from 5 drops to 6, a 1 drop difference.
He then bought another room, bringing the total to 3 rooms.
—New Rooms = 7+
So the upgrades will add one drop per room added.
That was reasonable, but it would quickly add up once his rooms reached the double digits.
After thinking about it, he decided to buy 5 more rooms, 8 in total.
—New Rooms = 12+
The next room now cost a whopping 12 drops, which was quite steep even with the amount of money he had.
Still, it was worth it. Having 8 [Isolated Rooms] meant another 1.6 million Sand Dollars each month, given that he could sell each Darkwood for 200,000 each.
With all that’s said and done, he now had 16 drops left in total.
He already knew what to spend with these excess drops.
He looked at the only menu that wasn’t completely sold out.
—Drones
——Mini drone ><
——Drone Hive = ><
————Mini Drone = 1
Thankfully, he could buy a Mini Drone for 1 drop each. There was no increase in price no matter how many he bought.
Without hesitating any longer, he quickly purchased 16 Mini Drones in an instant, finally depleting his Soo drops.
He was going to dedicate two of those Mini Drones for Jaku and Umisu who still hasn’t gotten theirs, and the rest of it would be with him. Having 14 Mini Drones at his disposal, each with an ability to shoot a [Unity Gun] basically made him a one-man army.
In fact, he wasn’t just satisfied with 14 Mini Drones. He wasn’t going to stop until he had a hundred of them flying by his side.
At that point, there was basically nothing that could stop him in the Body Formation realm. And with more, he would definitely have a chance against Nascent Spirits as well.
