Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family

Chapter 693: Fruits of seeds

Chapter 693: Fruits of seeds

“What? Really?” Michael asked, almost beaming. The fact that the Duchess suggested it herself meant that his Golden Road project was basically approved in an instant.

“Yes. My Secret Service has been bugging me to return to the palace for a few days now…but after living here…I just can’t return to that place—especially not without a toilet,” the Duchess sighed.

“We’ve never really realized how dirty we live without running water,” Prince Harry interjected. “Now, I can’t live without a good hot shower.”

“Please, Michael. With your road and train system, you could shorten the distance between Metropolis and the Nation in just a fraction of the time!”, said Princess Elizabeth. “And my kids have also become accustomed to life here. They’ve made friends.”

They all looked towards the plaza, where the Duchess’ royal grandchildren were playing hide-and-seek with Nixie and a couple of other kids from the nation.

It would be a shame if they separated now, especially with Nixie having improved so much.

“I’ll work on it right away,” he promised them.

“Good!” the Duchess clapped. “I’ve already given Angela the approval permit for the road, so all you need is to just construct it!”

Michael wanted to say something since she glanced over the fact about how the whole project was going to be funded, but he decided to stay quiet. This project would directly benefit him, so it was only natural he paid for it.

Anyways, he’d be paying for it in gold coins, which he had mountains of. So, he could easily afford it.

One month later, Michael could finally harvest the fruits of the seed he planted in the Nation of Reborn.

As promised, Reed paid him 10,000 Sand Dollars in full by the start of the new month. That alone put him in the top Sand Dollar earners in Metropolis.

But his income didn’t end there. In all of his business ventures, he was able to net a whopping total of 21,523 Sand Dollars in the past month! That included the ticket sales for both roller coasters as well as the housing rent from the Vampires!

All in all, he got 31,523 Sand Dollars in his pocket right now.

He couldn’t believe how much he’d gained just after a month. And what’s even more exciting was the fact that this could continue to grow more in the future! His customer base was 90% Mermen and about 10% Vampire.

If he found a way to create another rollercoaster-type business that marketed specifically to the Vampires, he could double his current Sand Dollar income per month!

Not only that, but there were three more Beastfolks species yet to arrive in Metropolis. They were a whole other customer base that he can’t wait to tap into!

Thankfully, that would become easier now more than ever because the Golden Road had finally finished construction!

The citizens of Metropolis woke up yesterday to the sight of hundreds of Rebornians laying down steel foundations and pouring concrete to create a wide road leading all the way to the Nation of Reborn.

They marveled at the cooperation, organization, and overall efficiency of the workers. They seemed to work tirelessly and without fail!

Not only that, but the railroad tracks had been laid down right next to the Golden Road!

And of course, those train tracks led to a new train station that was constructed just outside of the Metropolis’ South Gate, allowing for people to board in and out of the train without hassle.

People were abuzz at these new structures, with questions popping up about who built it and why. Thankfully, with the help of Cronk and the Daily Metro, all answers could be found in the first page of the newspaper issue that morning.

{Only One Day’s Travel to the Kings Region?!}

{The Reborn company has just finished their construction of a Golden Road that spanned all the way to the Parched Lands, leading to a nation owned and managed by none other than the golden boy, Michael Vanderbilt.

It has been rumored that they would soon roll out automobiles in Metropolis, allowing citizens to experience the so-called highway that promised a smooth and easy ride unlike anyone’s ever felt before.

But for those wanting to get from one place to another at the fastest possible time, then look no further than the Metropolis–Reborn train station. Here, you can ride a new automobile that can travel from Metropolis to the Parched Lands in less than a day! Just a single ticket would cost…}

Everyone went crazy after hearing such claims. They couldn’t wait to try out this train, but unfortunately, it still wasn’t ready to launch. So, a lot of citizens just got on their carriages and sped through the Golden Road, finally experiencing a true flat road.

Meanwhile, on the Eastern Coast of the Queens region, a large Wyvern hovered above the beach, with every flap of its wings throwing sand everywhere.

This Wyvern was large enough to carry up to fifty people at once. Despite that, there were only six people laying down on its saddle.

Once the Draconic creature touched down, the three beastfolks took out black umbrellas from their bags and opened it against the sun.

With their aversion to light, their pale, pasty white skin, and the long black robe and spiky collars they wore, it was clear that these were people from the Vampire race.

As they disembarked, one of the Vampires tossed a bag towards the Wyvern, which spilled out large amounts of Sand Dollars as it landed back on the saddles.

With the payment received, the Wyvern took off into the skies and disappeared into the horizon.

“The Royal Continent… I surely hope they haven’t gone far,” said one of the Vampires.

“We must hurry, brethren. We don’t know how much damage those Purist Vampires have done without our knowledge. It’s our duty to stop them before they destroy our relationship with the humans,” replied the other Vampire.

“According to our records here, the majority of the Vampires have gone off to a major city called Metropolis. Let us head over there now.”

A large shadow revolved around them as their bodies turned into giant bats, which sped forth West-bound towards Metropolis.

With more than 30,000 Sand Dollars in his inventory, Michael decided to spend some of it to buy a Soo drop.

He wanted to buy the [Weapon] upgrade for Fudge. The little slime had been pestering him all this time about it this past month, so he was hoping that getting this upgrade would finally shut him up.

“Fudge,” he called out.

In less than a second, the violet slime jumped out of his shadows and landed on top of his head.

“Yes, Master?”

“What type of weapon would you like?” he asked.

Fudge’s eyes widened. “Will I finally get my own Mithril Artifact?! Yehey! Unlimited shadow divas!”

Michael had to calm him down. “Tell me your choice first. What’s your weapon?”

“Hmmm,” Fudge pondered, tilting his head back and forth. “Maybe a ninja star? A ninja headband? OOOHH! I GOT IT! MASTER, I WANT A COOL NINJA CLOAK!”

“…that’s not a weapon though…”

Tsk, tsk, tsk, Master. My coolness in a cloak is enough of a weapon to drive fear into the hearts of our enemies!”
