Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family

Chapter 1219: Shadows’ rep

Chapter 1219: Shadows’ rep

Despite a lot of things happening, a lot of pieces moving, a lot of plots moving forward, things had considerably slowed down in the Nation of Reborn.

The people here had settled into a steady rhythm. But it was no means slow. Production was amped by at least twice their normal rate in order to accommodate all the new demands that their citizens and allies wanted.

Of course, they focused most of their efforts in building automobiles. It was their biggest seller. And with the money that they were generating through the loans and direct selling of cars, they were able to keep their heads afloat even with a recession coming in the economy.

The Upper Echelon companies and the Conglomerates gobbled up any automobile they found on the market. Michael didn’t blink an eye as he increased the prices of cars for them. They could afford it.

And because of that extra money generated, they could afford to keep their food prices low in the Nation of Reborn.

Their allies didn’t have to spend an arm and a leg just to have something to eat for the rest of the month.

Of course, it couldn’t be helped that there were going to be some mischievous thieves trying their luck in stealing from them. They never succeeded, of course.

All they would hear were the sounds of drums beating, and the distinct war cry of BU TO TO and RAH TA TAs before they found themselves consumed by the darkness.

The Shadow Orcs were so effective in keeping the Nation of Reborn protected that they had earned themselves a reputation.

The silent beat killer. Now, legends and myths were being spread around that whenever those beats were heard, you better return from whence you came or else you’d find yourself erased from the face of the Earth.

Of course, this was all true. And it was thanks to the steadily growing power of Reborn’s shadow. Each mission of theirs allowed their individual members to become stronger and earn enough experience to either awaken into a Maugnetic, or advance through the stages quickly.

The Orc Chieftains were both in the 8th stage of the Body Formation realm. With them at the head, there was no shadow in the Southern part of the Royal Continent that they did not know of.

Below them, the Elite Penumbras, numbering ten in total, were now all in the 7th stage of their cultivation. It was a title reserved only for the ten strongest Orcs in the organization, so competition amongst them was fierce.

They were in charge of high-stakes missions, where failure was not an option. They monitored the Ersatz Strongholds, spied on Upper Echelon companies. And if push came to shove, they were in charge of dispatching their enemies without anyone even knowing.

Then after them was the High Penumbras. Now, they were 20,000 Orcs strong, with their cultivation stages ranging from the 4th stage to the 6th stage. They were the main force of the Shadows of Reborn. They patrolled the streets, protecting citizens. They made sure everything was working properly, even when no one was looking.

Then, there was the Low Penumbras. They had 50,000 members in total. This was the place where new Maugnetics were placed in order to be trained. They ranged from the 1st stage to the 3rd stage of the Body Formation realm.

With this growing army of shadows, Reborn had become a true powerhouse in information gathering, in espionage.

Many Upper Echelons companies, organizations, and other such interested parties who tried to infiltrate Reborn to learn its secrets and its vulnerabilities.

But, they would always find nothing. Every secret was as empty as a shadow.

Because of this, their reputation had spread as fast as the Dragonborns’. Reborn had their spies. And they were not to be underestimated.

"Lord Michael, we have found a problem regarding the establishment of our electric grid."

Sheina came into his room, still looking as human as she was before. He couldn’t get used to it.

She presented him a map.

On an empty plot of land above Angora City in the Queens region, and below that of Metropolis and New Sparta and the Chasm that had been carved onto the land, there was a large red circle.

That was where they were going to install their new power plant.

With this power plant, they’d be able to build an electric grid that included the new allies of Reborn in the South, while also encompassing Metropolis, New Sparta, and a few territories further up North.

Now, the power requirement for this kind of power plant would be unprecedented. He’d have to build a steam power plant at least four times as big as the one they had in the Nation of Reborn.

That wasn’t going to be feasible. The bigger it was, the larger of a target it became to their enemies.

Now, the Dragonborns and the Shadow Orcs could definitely protect it if it came down to it. But it would just be a waste of their talents, having to guard it for almost 24/7.

Also, it would require a whole lot more materials to create and maintain. They didn’t have such luxury in times like these.

That’s why Michael instead wanted to build a nuclear power plant.

They’d be able to produce more power, more efficiently. Of course, there was the problem of a possible fallout. But with the power of Aubilities and Nascent Influence, that danger was basically nonexistent. He could just Influence nuclear fallout to not be harmful.

Now, the problem would actually be the fuel. Uranium. They didn’t have any of that in their mines in the Southern region of the continent. He’d personally searched through the Parched Lands for it, to no avail.

That’s the reason why he hadn’t built a nuclear power plant in the Nation of Reborn. They didn’t have Uranium.

"Good news: We found Uranium near our projected nuclear power plant.

Bad news: they don’t want to sell it to us," Sheina said.
