Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family

Chapter 1102 The Engine!

Chapter 1102  The Engine!

This revelation created a wave of disbelief within the audience. Most of them got up out of their seats, saying things like, ‘that’s impossible,’ or ‘there’s no way’, and a lot of variations of the same thing.

No one could believe that the golem was actually not a golem at all. It was basically an automobile.

Everyone had been accustomed to golems being creatures of magic. They were the quintessential products of wizards, since most of them were made out of the four basic elements.

And now, after figuring out that the Golem in front of them wasn’t actually powered by magic, it completely upended their whole understanding of magic and physics.

If it’s not powered by magic, then how could it move? How could it raise its legs like that of a human? How could it crush the automobile under its feet with such ease?!

They couldn’t believe it. If the golem was powered by this ‘engine’ then did that mean that the automobile had that kind of power and they didn’t even know it?

Rivet swung her hand, and the engine from one of the disassembled automobiles flew towards her side.

“This engine is a marvel of ingenuity. No one truly yet understands the potential of this item, except for its inventor of course. Even I have only begun to understand the implications of such an efficient energy converter.”

A magic circle manifested in her hands. Then, more metal parts emerged out of her inventory.

And using telekinesis, she began to create an entirely new structure made out of metal.

It’s a dog. It looked like a frankenstein-type of dog full of patchwork metal in its body and skin.

Then, she connected some type of wire from the dog into the engine, which had been transformed into an electric generator, in order to emulate life into the dog.

The metal dog immediately raised its head expectantly at Rivet. She took a thin metal bar and waved it in front of the dog, which caused it to jump around with excitement.

And when she threw the rod, the dog immediately lunged and caught it in its mouth, the way that an actual dog would do.

“Of course, this dog is not actually alive. It is simply following the set of instructions I have implanted into its very essence.”

Rivet continued to make metal animals, all of which sprung into life as soon as they connected to the live engine.

It was a testament to Rivet’s skill and ingenuity that she was able to create such a product even though she’d only known about the engine for less than a month. She wasn’t called the Mystic Master of Metal for no reason.

Her understanding with metallurgy was second to none.

“The possibilities of this engine are endless. It is not an exaggeration to say that it will be the foundation of everything in the future. You’ll see these engines power everything in your household, your heat, your water, even your light source!”

As Rivet began to paint a picture within the audience, the general public couldn’t help but be excited.

It was a future wherein they wouldn’t have to save up their money to hire a Fire Wizard in the winter so they wouldn’t have to freeze to death. It was a future where they’d finally experience a hot bath without burning wood!

It was a very bright future in which everything that was out of reach for them, was now at the tips of their hands!

And in complete contrast, the Conglomerates and the Upper Echelons couldn’t help but squirm in their seats, uncomfortable at that future.

It sounded like this engine could do a lot of things—things they had offered to the public for a lot of money. Meaning, that they’d stand to lose money because of this.

It was very clear to them that whoever controlled these engines would end up controlling the world.

And who owned the automobiles? It was none other than the Reborn company.

Some very smart and practical people immediately made an internal choice. They absolutely cannot antagonize the Reborn company. If they held the future in their hands, then it would be stupid if they were to try and attack them.

Some people, out of pure desperation, knew that if they didn’t want to see a future in which they’d be under the control of these automobiles, they would need to produce their own engines in order to compete. And to do that, they’d need to figure out how to construct it all on their own. Which, if they weren’t a Mystic Master of Metal, would probably take years or even decades.

“I’m saying this now,” said Rivet. “If you’re planning on trying to replicate an engine, then you’re in for a hard and tough road.

You’ll probably be able to create one if you work on it long enough. But if you want to mass produce them, well, you’re in tough luck. Even I haven’t figured out how to do that yet.”

And with those words, she signaled at her students to once again start the lecture.

“This is called the engine, and it’s what allows the automobile to…”

While her students tried their best to demystify the engine to the general public, Rivet decided to reward herself with a job well done.

It looked like she had successfully installed fear into those Conglomerates and Upper Echelons, while also planting an idea into the general public.

Now, it would be easier for them to trust Michael’s inventions in the future.

She then took out the phone from her pockets and began to fiddle with it.

“Hmm… I’m aching for some 2-piece fried chicken and some ice cream,” she said to herself. “Hey you!”

Her shout interrupted her students, who were busy doing the lecture. “What do you want to order? Come on, I’m hungry!”

It wasn’t just her students who were confused. Even the audience, who was seeing everything unfold in front of them, were completely befuddled about what was happening!
