He threw out one dirty line after another until his hand slipped beneath the hem of her shirt, hiking it upward.

Bunny let out a dramatic wail—this time, the tears were 100% genuine.

Cyrus’s hands came to a sudden halt. Bunny opened her tear-brimmed eyes, staring up at him in dazed confusion.

The man’s raspy, mocking voice floated down from above, "You little liar. You’ve never actually slept with a man before, have you? That night with Liam... was a lie."

Her naive, bluffing lie had been stripped bare.

Inside his mental domain, Chi rolled his eyes in exasperation: As if you aren’t a virgin yourself.

Cyrus released her bound wrists. Just as he anticipated, a sharp, furious slap came flying straight for his face.

He could have easily dodged it, but chose not to. Bunny’s strength was barely a tickle to him anyway—and letting her blow off a little steam made for a tantalizing bit of foreplay.

A little fiery spirit made things far more interesting.

He caught her hands in his broad palm as a surge of rich, abundant mental energy flowed steadily into Bunny’s body. Carrying an unmistakable, dominant authority, it instantly revitalized her exhausted, depleted frame. She felt energized enough to run straight into a field and plow two acres of land without breaking a sweat.

She blinked at Cyrus in astonishment. Yet before she could demand an explanation, he hit her with another bombshell.

"If you don’t head to class right now, are you waiting around for me to finish what I started?"

Bunny shot him a lethal glare and bolted out of the room faster than a panicked rabbit.

Bearing the vivid red handprint on his cheek, Cyrus watched her frantic escape with sheer amusement, not forgetting to call out a final reminder, "I’ll be personally conducting your evaluation in three days for combat class."

By the time Bunny stepped back into the hallway, the ocean-like Sentinel pheromones clinging to her had been completely replaced by the cool, dark scent of burning wood.

Muttering every curse under the sun at Cyrus, she threw on her training outfit and headed off to class.

Today, Rin was surprisingly absent of his usual low-cut, sheer outfits. Instead, he had changed back into his default ensemble—a crisp white shirt paired with casual trousers. His soft black hair looked fluffy and relaxed, and his sleeves were rolled up past his forearms, exposing his pale wrists.

With his soft, gentle features, subtle lip tone, and the delicate red mole tucked at the corner of his eye acting as the perfect finishing touch, he looked like the ultimate picture-perfect first love.

Bunny blurted out instinctively, "You look great in a white shirt."

Rin’s long eyelashes fluttered with delighted surprise. "You like me in white, Bunny?"

Bunny pulled her hair back into a ponytail, casually offering, "Honestly, you look good in whatever you wear."

After all, the model was built that way.

Rin seemed noticeably happier. He proceeded with his routine physical exam and emotional health assessment for Bunny. However, today, certain hormonal values showed a shift.

Rin didn’t fully grasp it at first. Once Bunny left, he accessed the core database to run a search, finally finding the answer embedded within the primary biometric logs: ovarian estrogen and progesterone fluctuations—Bunny’s ovulation window was approaching.

Today’s lesson focused on close-quarters melee weapons.

In this era, the line between cold steel and firearm technology had blurred. Blade combat regularly integrated electromagnetic charges, laser edges, corrosive coatings, and anti-coagulants—all engineered to maximize lethality.

Bunny arrived at her assigned training bay, where Rain had already been waiting for some time.

"I’m so sorry, I’m late!"

She was nearly an hour behind schedule, but Rain seemed to have expected it. He stood leaning against the edge of the platform with his arms crossed.

"It’s fine. Let me take you through a warm-up first."

He wore a tight black tank top that showcased the thick, bulging contours of his biceps, with camouflage combat trousers tucked neatly into tactical boots. His golden hair gleamed under the overhead lights. Much like Arden, he sported a collection of cool cartilage piercings. Paired with that blonde hair, he exuded a distinctly rebellious, bad-boy aura.

Back home, people usually cringed at the "blonde delinquent" trope—but what if the blonde was actually this gorgeous?

Bunny briefly pictured Rain revving a customized moped, grinning as he parked under her apartment building. "Hey old man, is my bike safe down here?"

Once the warm-up wrapped up, Rain led her over to a massive wall lined with all kinds of melee weaponry.

"In actual combat, ranged weapons take priority. Blades are generally reserved for specific tactical scenarios or close-range scrambles." He paused, turning to her. "Bunny, do you prefer a blade or a baton?"

The sudden question snapped Bunny out of her trance—she had been staring directly at his face the whole time.

"Oh... I don’t really have a preference."

Back in her previous life, people couldn’t even bring utility knives onto a train; she had barely touched weapons like these in her life.

Rain, fully aware that the young Guide had been sneaking glances at him, let the corner of his mouth curve upward by a fraction of a millimeter.

You couldn’t really blame her. Guys like him were ridiculously attractive, and this one was practically a pristine, picture-perfect teddy bear tailored right to her aesthetic tastes.

"How about we try a blade first?"

Rain reached up and unclipped a three-edged titanium trench dagger from the rack. The blade was straight and rigid, with three distinct ridges running from the hilt to the point. The handle was textured for anti-slip resistance and enhanced grip.

"A trench spike differs from a standard dagger. One relies on point penetration, while the other is meant for slashing—the force application is completely different."

Rain flipped the weapon in his hand. The deep blood grooves along the facets reflected a cold, icy gleam under the lights.

"These three fullers aren’t just for bloodletting. Their main function is to break the muscle’s suction grip. That way, when you pull the blade back out, there’s zero drag, allowing for an instantaneous follow-up strike."

Bunny took the knife, examining it closely. The blade was coated with a dark layer of special compound—Rain explained it was an anti-coagulant toxin used to drain alien blood efficiently.

"Blade combat relies heavily on your martial arts fundamentals. Bunny, you have to learn to use your weapon fluidly on the battlefield."

Rain started with the basic offensive and defensive stances: straight thrusts, side slashes, parries, blade slides...

Bunny tried multiple times, but every single strike failed to pierce clean through the dummy in front of her, getting stuck in the synthetic material every time. She gripped the handle tightly, panting softly, determined to try once more.

Suddenly, Rain stepped up behind her, wrapping his hand over her wrist.

"Keep the blade angled downward, not flat. Drive the power through your shoulder."

His other hand rested lightly on her waist. Instantly, Bunny’s core muscles tensed up out of sheer instinct.

"Keep your core locked, or you’ll lose control of the grip."

He shifted closer, patiently adjusting her stance. A rush of Sentinel pheromones—a blend of vanilla and hyacinth laced with a faint, bitter trace of grapefruit—swept over her.

She glanced sideways; Rain’s expression remained completely composed.

"Don’t look at me. Look forward."

Bunny felt a wave of embarrassment—Rain was standing way too close, and his body heat was radiating right off him.

"Now, try again."

Bunny lined up with the dummy’s vital point and drove the blade forward with precision. This time, it sank deep inside, causing synthetic red blood to seep out from the wound.

Her eyes lit up with excitement, and she was about to go for another strike, but Rain still hadn’t let go of her waist.

"Rain..."

"Hmm?" The man didn’t seem to find anything wrong with the situation at all.

"Could you... let go of me first?"

Being held like this made it really awkward for her to swing the blade properly!

"I’m not used to being stared at like this," she mumbled.

Hearing that, Rain blinked his striking heterochromatic eyes, looking completely innocent.

"But you were sneaking glances at me the exact same way just now."
