Reborn As A Villainous Cannon Fodder
Chapter 600: Ch 600 - You’ll Know With a Look From Your Dual Pupils!
"You have no room to hide your trump cards after falling into my technique. I’m going to dig out every last secret buried inside you today!" Ruzhi sneered from her towering vantage point in the dual pupil world, clearly out for revenge.
She never intended to get serious with him using her dual pupils. But his methods were simply too bizarre. It was bad enough that he repeatedly humiliated her using his physical advantage, but he had actually stimulated the sealed dragon totem on her leg with a casual touch of spiritual energy.
Her secrets were out in the open. She had no choice but to unleash her dual pupils to turn the tables. He would be the only one holding the cards if she backed down now. She would have suffered a double loss if she left this sparring session without uncovering a single one of his secrets.
"Let’s see how you like being strangled. Take this!" she barked, reaching her hand out once more.
A massive demonic hand materialized from the dark sky of the black and white world. It mirrored her exact movements and crashed down toward his head.
Yino narrowed his eyes and drew his sword in the illusionary world. The descending demonic claw was just a split second away from colliding with his towering sword intent.
"How strange!" a voice echoed. "I clearly saw Wen Ruzhi block Yino’s path right here..."
The voices of several Cultivators drifted in from outside the alleyway in the real world.
Ruzhi froze as if she had just been jolted awake from a dream. The descending demonic claw in her illusionary world abruptly halted right above Yino’s head.
"Wait, someone is coming!" she panicked. "Let... let me go!"
High up in the dual pupil world, Ruzhi lowered her hand and spoke in a frantic uneasy tone.
Yino was stunned for a moment before he suddenly realized what she was talking about.
Even though she had dragged his mind into this illusionary world, his physical body in reality was still holding her up by the throat with a single arm.
If Disciples from the other Sects saw them in such a compromising position...
"Why should I?"
Yino sheathed his sword. He glanced up at the demonic claw that had nearly crushed him into paste and sneered. "We have no grudges between us. I don’t even know you. You were the one who blocked my path and attacked me out of nowhere. You lost to me in hand-to-hand combat, then threw a temper tantrum and dragged me into this illusionary world to try and crush my Divine Sense. Now that the situation has turned against you, you want me to let you go? Why should you get to have it both ways?"
"I’ll let you go right now!"
Ruzhi was growing desperate as she listened to the approaching footsteps in the real world.
The glow faded from her purple eyes. The monochromatic world around Yino immediately shattered into pieces. When he snapped back to reality, he found himself standing in the familiar alleyway.
He was still holding her up by the throat while she desperately clawed at his wrist.
"I brought you back! Hurry up and let me go!"
The girl’s face was flushed red from his tight grip. An unprecedented sense of panic gripped her heart, causing her youthful body to tremble violently.
Seeing that Yino had no intention of letting her go, Ruzhi had no choice but to activate her dual pupils again. She forced a hypnotic command straight into his mind.
"I told you to let go! Are you deaf?"
She was losing her temper. The mental attacks radiating from her eyes grew increasingly violent.
Despite her efforts, Yino stared directly into her dual pupils without breaking a sweat.
"Oh my, my hearing really isn’t what it used to be! I didn’t quite catch what you just said. Care to repeat it a little louder?"
Yino dug his finger into his ear, feigning an expression of complete innocence as he spoke in a mocking tone.
Ruzhi’s dual pupils certainly possessed terrifying suppression capabilities. However, she had forgotten one crucial detail. A little fox with an abyssal evil eye resided deep within Yino’s sea of Divine Sense. Trying to use hypnotic pupil techniques in front of an absolute master of illusion techniques like Jinyue was like trying to teach a fish how to swim!
Jinyue might lack physical strength, but as a creature born from the Abyss, her talent for illusion techniques was completely on par with Ruzhi’s!
"You... You are completely immune to my pupil techniques!"
Yino remained utterly unfazed. Ruzhi widened her eyes in absolute shock.
The sound of footsteps and chatter at the mouth of the alley grew closer by the second, yet Yino still refused to let go. With disaster looming over her head, Ruzhi no longer had the time to sit back and analyze what other tricks he had hidden up his sleeves.
Chomp!
Pushed to the absolute brink, Ruzhi opened her mouth and sank her sharp little canines directly into Yino’s hand.
Yino hissed in pain and jerked his hand back. The girl in the black skirt finally managed to break free and drop to the ground.
Almost simultaneously, a group of cultivators stepped into the alleyway and immediately spotted the two of them.
"Ah, they are over here..."
"But it looks like the fight is already over..."
"So... who won?"
"Well..."
The group of cultivators stood completely dumbfounded. The girl in the black skirt leaned heavily against the wall as she forced herself to her feet. She was trembling visibly. Every single one of them noticed the vivid red handprint plastered across her pale neck.
"..."
The crowd sucked in a collective breath of cold air, not daring to make a sound.
Ruzhi raised her head and glared back at the crowd. Her purple dual pupils flared with a brilliant abyssal glow.
"Forget everything you just saw!"
Following her command, the onlookers’ eyes immediately glazed over. They nodded blankly and turned to leave.
Yino found the scene incredibly familiar. Her application of illusion techniques heavily mirrored Jinyue’s methods. However, Ruzhi’s dual pupils were capable of far more than simple illusions. The true terrifying nature of those eyes could only be unleashed within her unique dual pupil world.
On the other hand, Jinyue’s abyssal evil eyes held the power to twist reality itself. The two of them specialized in entirely different branches of magic.
"He Yino, I truly underestimated you today."
Having dealt with the interlopers, Ruzhi turned back to face him. Her purple dual pupils locked directly onto the unfathomable boy in white standing before her.
She tightly clenched her fists beneath her sleeves.
"However, thanks to those onlookers, I never got the chance to use my full strength. Those born with dual pupils have historically possessed frail bodies. Physical combat is the absolute weakest aspect of my cultivation!"
"Just wait until our match tomorrow! I will pull you back into my illusionary world and drag all your secrets out into the light!"
She spoke tough words, but a flicker of apprehension remained stubbornly present in her beautiful eyes.
This was a stark contrast to the cold emotionless facade she had worn earlier.
The reason was incredibly simple. Yino hadn’t revealed a single one of his secrets during their exchange. Her ancient dual pupils’ greatest advantage was the ability to see straight through an opponent’s origin and weaknesses. Yet, with their match looming over the horizon, she still knew absolutely nothing about him.
To someone blessed with dual pupils capable of peering into the fundamental truths of the world, the unknown was their most terrifying enemy.
"Such confidence?"
Yino offered her a faint smile, maintaining his composed stance with his hands clasped firmly behind his back. "Even your older brother was barely a match for me in the past. What gives you the courage to spout such wild arrogance in front of me today?"
"..."
Ruzhi froze in shock for a second before snapping back to reality with a scoff. "Such blatant boasting! My brother has already broken through to the Mahayana stage! You are nothing more than a Divine Transformation stage at best!"
"True or false, your dual pupils will reveal all tomorrow."
