“This is fucking ridiculous! You’re really going to interrogate me?!”

After being shackled with iron chains, Yino found himself pressed against the dungeon’s iron bars, feeling utterly pissed off. He had no idea how he’d managed to offend this little dragon bitch. She was such a two-faced character – one second she was admiring his heroic deeds, the next she was backstabbing him and throwing him into a cell.

What made it worse was that Nina treated Yino completely differently from the others. During the escort, when Yuyan expressed her dissatisfaction, Nina cheerfully had her subordinates prepare a high-end suite for her. When Yino saw this and also voiced his complaints, Nina kicked him square in the ass and personally handcuffed him before dragging him to this freezing dungeon.

“Damn it… This isn’t fucking fair! I’m the hero who saved Western Province City! Is this how you treat your benefactors as an empress?”

The more Yino thought about it, the angrier he got. He couldn’t hold back his frustration any longer. He used to show some respect since Nina was an empress, but Yino had his pride too. Besides, his family background wasn’t exactly inferior to Nina’s current position.

“Alright, alright, I know you’re a hero,” came a voice from outside the iron window.

The white dragon girl had brought over a wooden chair and sat down elegantly, crossing her legs beneath her skirt. She looked at Yino with an amused smile. “Since you’ve made such contributions, I’ll give you a chance. How about coming to the Dragon Palace to serve as my attendant?”

“Hell nah.”

Yino refused without hesitation. First, Nina hadn’t firmly established herself on the empress throne yet – the National Teacher was the real power holder. Following Nina to the Dragon Palace would likely mean suffering alongside her. Second, in the original story’s main plot, virtually no protagonist ever became an empress’s attendant. If Yino really went to the Dragon Palace, how would he know what plot developments would unfold there? Wouldn’t that be like cutting off his own arms and losing the greatest advantage of having memories from his previous life?

Yino wasn’t stupid. He still planned to wander around Jiangnan next – after all, he was very familiar with that place and knew exactly what future plot developments would occur there!

Nina raised her eyebrows in surprise. “You! You actually said no?”

“What’s the big deal…”

“I’m the current Dragon Emperor! Following me as an attendant would bring honor to your ancestors!”

“What kind of honor could a measly attendant position bring… Your Majesty, you know perfectly well that the old Grand Tutors in our family’s ancestry were all distinguished ministers of the court!”

Yino waved his hand dismissively. He found a straw mat in the cell and slumped against the wall like he’d given up on life. For a moment, Nina sat outside the cell while Yino sat inside, both maintaining an air of superiority.

“Hmm! What you’re saying actually makes sense…” Nina hesitated, finally remembering Yino’s true identity. She’d been so focused on studying Yino’s cultivation level and hidden background that she’d almost forgotten his official status also carried considerable influence.

“So you think the attendant position is too lowly?”

“Yep.”

“But you’re just a Core Formation, probably not even eighteen years old yet. If you don’t start as a junior attendant, do you expect to ascend to heaven in one step and become a minister directly?”

“That’s why I want to train in the civilian world for a few more years, Your Majesty…”

Yino leaned back, looking like a salted fish without dreams. Nina really couldn’t stand his attitude. But then she reconsidered and began to reflect.

“Tell me, are you holding a grudge against me? Because I locked you up and treated you like shit?”

As she spoke, Nina uncrossed her legs, stood up from the wooden chair, and walked toward Yino’s cell. She held the key in her hand and easily unlocked the door. “I wasn’t deliberately targeting you. You were the one who left me alone without giving a damn! And when you clearly returned safely, you still ran around like you owned the place. I shouted myself hoarse calling after you, but you pretended not to hear. Do you know how worried I was about you during the time you were missing?!”

Nina walked up to Yino and crouched down in her white stockings and long boots, her oval face flushed with anger and hurt. Yino looked at the girl’s face up close, but gradually his gaze began drifting downward uncontrollably.

“You! You perverted bastard!”

Nina grabbed his face with her hand, forcing him to look up. At the same time, noticing Yino’s slightly reddened cheeks, she quickly pressed her legs together and tucked her skirt hem between her thighs with her other hand.

“I’m being so sincere with you, and you little shit – where the hell are your eyes wandering?!”

“Hey, my eyes have auto-aim enabled, what can I do about it…”

“Pervert!”

“Besides, I didn’t see anything…”

“Of course not, I’m wearing shorts!”

“Then why the fuck are you yelling at me?”

“Yino, don’t you have even a shred of respect for the empress?!”

Yino looked away, his face already pinched into a strange shape by Nina’s hands. Seeing how dismissive he was being, Nina had nowhere to vent her frustration except by kneading his face mercilessly.

“Fine, Since you won’t take the easy way, I’m going to stop being nice to you!”

She snorted coldly, gripping Yino’s cheeks with both hands and pulling them left and right, making his face look like Crayon Shin-chan.

“What are you doing? Are you going to use torture just because I won’t go back to the Dragon Palace with you?”

Yino raised an eyebrow, finding this girl troublesome. He was regretting more and more that he’d bragged to Nina about punching through the Pain Mother Goddess’s heart. But the problem was, Yino really hadn’t been bragging! He’d even been modest enough to give Yuyan credit for half the achievement! Moreover, if he hadn’t answered properly back then, he wouldn’t have been able to convince Nina’s curiosity and explain the situation.

“Hmph! So what if I use torture on you!”

Nina snorted and simply began tearing at Yino’s clothes. Being a dragon, She had considerable strength. She grabbed his collar and yanked hard, directly ripping open all the buttons on his chest. Seeing half his chest exposed, Yino felt embarrassed and panicked.

“Hey, why the hell are you stripping my clothes off? Are you being a fucking pervert?!”

“Who gives a shit about your scrawny body?!”

Yino started shouting loudly, and even Nina’s face gradually turned red with embarrassment. She removed her white gloves from earlier, grabbed Yino’s mouth, and stuffed the gloves in to prevent him from making noise.

“Stay still! I need to properly investigate what kind of bloodline this body of yours has, and how you managed to refine the Mother Goddess’s heart in the Demon Abyss!”

Nina snorted coldly, pulled open Yino’s shirt, and gathered her True Dragon power in her palm before slapping it onto Yino’s chest. The girl covered Yino’s mouth with one hand while the other began roaming around his body for examination. This bizarre turn of events made Yino’s heart race with panic as he could only crane his neck and make muffled protests.

At some unknown point, the dungeon’s outer iron door was kicked flying several meters by a phoenix-patterned foot—

“Let go of my Yino!”
