Chapter 713: Worried Friends
Chapter 713: Worried Friends
A few days passed, and Kana was able to get better control over her death element to the point that she could at least slow the amount she was releasing. She couldn’t stop it completely, but it was a start. She no longer instantly killed everything she touched, only withered it slightly. Sadly this did not transfer to when she was sleeping. As soon as her eyes closed, her death element would begin to return to how it was before killing things instantly.
For the most part, this just meant no one could be near her while she slept, which was perfectly fine for her. It would keep all the perverts of this world who would try to take advantage of a sleeping girl away.
While Kana was making her way towards their meeting point, Fei, Nana, Zhong, and Fan were all sitting around a fire resting after a long journey. “I hope Kana is okay.”
“Fei, you have said that at least a thousand times now,” Nana said as she knocked Fei on the head. “We are all worried about her. But knowing her, she is perfectly fine. She is probably lying in front of a fire with a bulging stomach sleeping away carelessly. Ahh… yeah, this is worrisome….”
Nana suddenly made herself very concerned for Kana’s safety. She was always so careless after she ate. Fei and the others also had worried looks on their faces. “I should go back and try to meet up with her.”
“Fei, what good would that do? We do not even know where she is? She said to meet her outside Temple Forest, so that is exactly what we will do. We just need to believe in her.” Although she was very worried about Kana’s safety, she also knew Kana well enough to know she would not let things get in her way easily.
“I still owe Benefactor my life. I hope she will be able to meet up with us.” Zhong was someone who always repaid debts, and since Kana risked her life for him, he would offer up his services to her to repay her. He had no other way to repay such kindness.
“I highly doubt Kana would want anything. She holds relationships close to her heart so she would never abandon us. Not that we can say the same for ourselves.” Fan sighed. He was supposed to protect the girl he loved, but he couldn’t even do that. He realized he was not even worth the dirt between Kana’s toes. But that did not mean he would give up. He would work harder than ever and cultivate to become the most powerful cultivator of the realm and show her he can protect her and is worthy of her.
“That is true. Kana is very noble after all.” The whole group sighed and went quiet. They sat there around the fire, eating their meal in silence.

Back in the sect, things had been stirred as the sect master began a massive hunt for any disciples who had been tainted with demonic qi. Devil cultivators were cruel and would kill thousands just to raise their cultivation. They would stop at nothing to reach their goals. This search was one of the reasons why he sent Kana and her team away. He wanted to rid the sect of anyone who wished to harm Kana. So when she got back, she would have a safe place to cultivate without being worried about being assassinated.
“Elder Ning, is this them?” The sect master looked at the four disciples in front of him.
“Yes, all four have been tainted with demonic qi. With their low cultivation, I can only guess that maybe they were always devil cultivators who were sent here to join the sect. If not, then they are working with a devil cultivator.” Elder Ning replied.
“Hmm? And what do you four have to say for yourself?” The sect master asked coldly.
“Heh… Do you think you can keep her safe? Our master will kill her. She should not have touched Master’s personal disciple. She should have obediently given up her blood to help him cultivate.” One of the young men replied while laughing. He did not seem scared at all about death.
“Oh? Then you can just die then. Moon Crest Academy is not weak. You will see what happens if your master decides to try to touch one of my disciples. For now, you all can die.” The sect master touched his sword, and before anyone could even react, the four disciples’ heads rolled on the ground.
“Sect master you, letting your true power out.” Elder Ning sighed. The sect master had a habit of unleashing his strength when he was mad.
“I know. I did so on purpose. We were being watched. Whoever their master is, was listening in on our conversation. This probably means he already knows Kana is not in the sect. These disciples were just dummies for him to infiltrate the sect. Unluckily for him, Kana is not the only one who can harm someone’s soul.” The sect master grinned as he had sensed the soul fragments their master left in the disciples. This gave him a chance to harm the old man four times.
—
In another location, the smell of death filled the air. Inside a small room, an old man sat in his chair, his body trembling. His soul had once again been damaged. The old man coughed up a mouth full of blood and clenched his fists. “This will not be the end. I will avenge my disciple!”
It was not like he cared about his disciple, but it was a huge loss of face in front of the other elders that angered him the most. He could find thousands of cultivators with the same prowess as his deceased disciple…

Back on Kana’s side of things, she was just as Fei and the rest worried about laying on the ground defenseless with a plump belly from eating too much. “Burp! So good… I really have gotten better at roasting snake. Even the death element gives it a bit of spice. Now to just sleep this off and I wil…. ZZZzzzz….”
