Chapter 673 - The Room Hidden Beneath The Surface
Chapter 673 – The Room Hidden Beneath The Surface
Darkness enshrouded Kana as she made her way into the depths of only god knows where. Behind her, she could still hear the man in black yelling for her to show herself, but his voice was slowly getting faint. He seemed to have been walking in the wrong direction. Knowing this, Kana let out a sigh of relief. “Ouch…” Kana almost tripped. She felt weak from the blood loss, but she knew she had to keep moving. With danger close by, she did not wish to give that man in black a chance to grab hold of her.
Kana stumbled her way through the darkness until she grew too tired to continue on. Her shoulder was shooting pain through her body, and the strange energy from the attack was still wreaking havoc inside her. “Am I not going to make it this time?” Kana stumbled and leaned against the side wall of the tunnel she was next to her.
But to her surprise, as she leaned against it, the whole wall suddenly gave way, and she was sent tumbling down once more. She almost yelled out but quickly bit down on her sword. She did not dare allow that man in black to know where she was. She could only grit her teeth as she rolled down yet another slope. But this time, she tucked her tail up under her and curled up into a ball. She was making sure no accidents occurred.
She tumbled down deeper into the abyss for so long that when she finally reached the bottom, she felt as if she was on her last leg. Tears welled up in her eyes as she struggled to get up. “I haven’t felt this pitiful since I died in the snow covered trash.”
It was not until she looked around that she noticed something was different about the place she was in. “This place is…” The room was dimly lit, and Kana could make out what was in the room. What she saw actually made her lips curl up into a smile. “A forge!”
She, more than anyone, would never mistake what a forge looked like. In front of her was a forge, an anvil, and a few tables with tools and a few shelves with jade slips on them. Seeing all this made her happy, but she wondered why a forge was hidden away like this. But most of all, she figured since this room was so well hidden that she could finally rest and try to heal her injuries.
Kana sighed. She wished she had some healing pills. Kana stumbled over next to the forge and leaned up against it. Just being next to a forge made her think of her handsome husband and calmed her mind. She wanted to cultivate and try to heal, but due to exerting herself too much, she slowly fell into a deep slumber, the sword in her mouth slipping out, landing on the ground next to her..
As Kana slept, the blood oozing from her wound slowly rolled down her body and onto the forge. Runes of different colors began to light up one after the other on the forge. A low hum could be heard coming from the forge as a female voice softly spoke: “Finally, a new master…”
Kana found herself in a white space. In front of her was a forge fully lit up, and in front of that forge was a woman. She had a golden hammer in her hand as she raised it into the air before begging it down.
*Clang!*
The golden hammer struck the hot metal on the anvil before rising into the air once again. The woman continued her work hammering away, each strike was very precise. Her hammer began to speed up, while at the same time, Kana was subconsciously taking it all in, counting each striker in her mind. As time passed, the woman continued hammering away without rest. Her spiritual qi fluctuated with each strike as it was imbued into the weapon. After many strikes, the woman finally stopped hammering and placed the sword she had just created into the fire once more. She then turned and looked at Kana. “How many strikes?”
“Huh? Ah… one thousand four hundred and fifty two.” Kana reapplied. She had counted every strike as she watched. She had been entranced by this woman’s forging skill.
“Hmmm… You are indeed worthy.” The woman smiled before suddenly disappearing and reappearing in front of Kana. She wore a white robe and had long purple hair. Her eyes pitch black with a reddish hue. She reached out her snow white hand and grabbed Kana’s wrist. “You have blood surge inside you. It is a devil cultivator energy for some of their skills. I will help you get rid of it.”
Kana felt a warm flow spread through her body, and the chaotic energy inside her quickly disappeared. “Thank you… May I know who you are?”
“You will know in due time. For now, you will watch and learn.” The woman smiled before going back and pulling the sword out of the fire and tossed it to the side before taking out a few clumps of metal and sticking them on the fire.
Kana noticed the woman was not going to tell her anything more, so she could only watch closely as the woman worked. As she worked, she explained each step in great detail which was very beneficial to Kana. After what seemed like days, the woman finally cooled off the short sword she made and placed it aside. “Each step of weapon forging starts from the basics. Only those with the knowledge and willingness to learn will be able to one day forge divine weapons. Everything you need to know is within you. If you truly wish to become a forger whose name will spread across the world, you will need to work hard. But now you should wake up. Your wounds are pretty much healed.. If you ever wish to forge, just touch the runic marking on your right hand and have the will of wanting to forge.”
