Chapter 522 - From Mother To Daughter Part 1
Blue skies with white puffy clouds slowly moving across. In a small house in a farming village, three little girls were running around. "Baba! Baba!"
"How many times do I have to tell you girls not to call me Baba! Just call me super grandma like your mothers do!" A young woman with black hair, three black horns on her head, and a black halo hooked on her right horn. She also had a pointy demon tail and a pair of black and red wings on her back. Her purple eyes were mesmerizing to those who looked into them.
"Hehehehe!" The three little girls ran off giggling away.
The young woman smiled and shook her head. She was used to this after so many generations of children. "You seem to be living a happy life." An unfamiliar voice sounded from behind the young woman.
The young woman flicked her wrist, causing a sword to appear in her hand, and swung it around, attacking the intruder.. But to her surprise, the sword was not even able to touch the man as it was frozen in the air. "You! Who are you!?"
"I'm just an old man who has come with a message. Rain, it's from your mother." The old man flicked his sleeve and revealed a black orb in his hand as he handed it over. "It is locked to your magic signature, so only you can view it. I still have more to deliver, so I will be off."
Rain stood there with the black orb in her hand frozen in place. "Mom?" Another young woman walked in looking very much like Rain. "Are you okay?'
"I… I don't know… Faith, can you stay with me while I watch this message?" Rain didn't think she should be alone at this time. She needed someone with her in case this message was bad.
"Yes, of course..." Faith replied. She followed Rain into the other room and took a seat on the big couch.
Rain took a deep breath before sending her magic power into the black orb. It lit up with a black light. The light shot a beam into the air and began to spread out until finally, an image of a young girl came into view. "Hi Rain, it's Mama..." It was an image of Kana, who looked like she was having trouble figuring out what to say. Kana scratched her head and continued. "I know it's been around a hundred years or so. Well, I just found out it has been anyways. I have no idea if you hate me or not. I disappeared without a trace. The old man who sent you the orb was the one who sealed my memories and took me away. He did it because I was on the verge of losing my mind after the loss of your aunty Ceilie and destroying the mortal world because of it. Well, that was what he told me. But I could see it happening. Your mother is strong, after all! I am the goddess of death!
"Ahaha… yeah...Rain. My baby girl, I am so sorry… If I had been able to control my emotions, I would have been able to be there for you as you got married, had your first kids, watched them grow, then watched you send your own children off as I had to do with you. Sorry, give me a second..." Kana's eyes were full of tears as she did her best to smile.
"I missed a lot… I missed so much of your life that I feel like a horrible mother. But Rain, did you know that I loved you and your sister more than anything? I hate myself more than anything for even forgetting you three for even a second. Although I say this, I am not allowed to come see you just yet. In order to regain my memories, I had to sign a contract with that old man. Until I am strong enough to reach the sea of stars, I can not come and see you. But I promise I will race forward and grow so strong that not even that bastard old man won't be able to touch me. I promise I will make my way back to you, my family....
"On a lighter note… Bell come here..." Kana waved at someone within the image, and then a young girl came into view. Rain felt worried for a moment since it had been a hundred years without her memories that maybe her mother had found a new love, but her anxiety was soon relieved. "It's not what you are thinking. Bell is your sister, but she is not related to me by blood. She is a half breed vampire born between a human and a vampire. She may look young, but she is well over one hundred years old as well. Bell, say hi to your big sister, Rain."
Bell blushed and bowed her head: "It is a pleasure to meet you, Big Sister Rain.."
Kana pursed her lips and laughed: "So formal. Anyway, you will get to meet her as well when I can finally make it there. I want more than anything to hear your voice and return to your side right now, but that old man made me promise to grow stronger first. Sadly this orb is about to be run out of room. Rain, I will work hard and come see you. Hopefully, by then, you will be willing to see me. I love you, Rain. Until we meet again."
The light from the orb disappeared, and Rain held it close to her heart. "Mama..." These words were all she could say as the tears rained down her cheeks. She had waited so long to hear from her mother, and now here she was, sending her a message. "I have to go…."
"You will finally ascend? It may be hard..." Faith looked at her mother with a worried expression. Rain had been able to ascend for a long, long time. But she had stayed for her daughters to watch over them.
"Mmm… I have to go. After your father passed away, I worked hard on gaining power while still raising you girls and watching my grandchildren and my great grandchildren grow. I guess it is time for me to move on..." Rain looked at her daughter and sighed. She reached over and pulled Faith into her arms. "Do well. I will see your sisters and let them know you are doing good."
"Mmm..."
---
Standing over the western sea of the ascension realm, Creige looked at the old man in front of him. "Am I allowed to punch you?"
"You can, but it will not do any..."
*Boom!*
Creige did not hold back at all. He knew this many was very, very powerful because he would not feel good about anything unless actually hit the man at least once. As the smoke dispersed, the old man still stood there smiling away. "Feel better?"
"Humph! Why are you here this time? I know my connection with my wife is back. What else do I need to know besides that she is alive?" Creige could feel how Kana felt through his connection, so he knew she still loved him as strongly as she did before. This was a great relief to him when the connection was restored.
"Haha… True... But no. At her wish, I am here to deliver a message to you." The old man handed over a pink orb. After that, he turned around, took a single step, and disappeared.
Creige frowned as he looked at the orb. He put some magic in it, and as soon as he saw the image of the one he missed so much, all his anger dissipated. "Handsome Husband should be looking as handsome as always, right? What I wouldn't give to see you just once. I know you are on your journey to becoming strong, so I will not keep you long. I, Kana, wife of Creige, swear on my soul to always love Creige for the rest of my life and those that follow after. If I fail to do so, then my soul shall be destroyed to never reincarnate again!"
Creige watched in shock as Kana made such a vow it would brand her soul for all her reincarnations, meaning she could never love anyone but him or her soul would be destroyed. Even if it meant she had to be alone for all eternity! "Surprised? Hehe… I wanted to show my devotion to you. I lost one hundred years with the most wonderful man in all the realms. But know this Creige, I will only ever love you. No one else can match you, and I will never accept another. But I do have to make one more announcement to you. You have a fourth daughter! Don't worry, she is not mine. I adopted her during the time my memories were sealed. It seemed my motherly instincts could not be sealed."
Creige let out a laugh seeing his little wife joking around. He saw the new daughter he had yet to meet and listened to Kana explain all about her. He knew Kana was always a motherly type. She cared about everyone she called friend and cared for many. But she has never changed, no she seemed more mature now. He wondered how she would be when they finally met again. He listened to her explain about everything that happened, how she now had memories of one of her previous lives and how she was flying through space. And he listened to her repeatedly profess her love for him. He was truly lucky to have such a wonderful wife.
As the message ended, Creige carefully stored it away in a space pocket so that it would never get lost. He then pulled out part of his soul and said a few ancient words before making an oath. "I, Creige, shall love only my wife Kana in this lifetime and any of my reincarnations. If I do not follow this oath then my soul shall be shattered, and I will never be allowed to reincarnate again."
