Chapter 520 - A Love Never Fated To Be
High above the skies of an ancient city covered in overgrowth, a young woman stood in the air with a sword in hand. Around here were thousands of warriors carrying different types of weapons. "Angel, I just wanted you to marry me. Why must you make things difficult? Just come back, and we can be together forever."
"Andre, I have told you many times that no matter what happens, I will never marry you. I will never give myself to any man I do not love. And I have told you that I do not love you. I have only one goal, and that is to meet my family in the sea of stars. If I marry you, I would be going against everything I stand for." Angelic looked at the handsome man in front of her. He had been chasing her for years. Over a hundred years had passed since that day. Since the day her Mama was taken away. The day her Handsome Papa entered the void realm. She was now standing at the peak of the void realm. She was unmatched. Her strength could end all. Just like her sister Yana and her Handsome Papa before her, she was the strongest of the realm.
But this one man Andre. Who had been chasing her for so long, even despite knowing he could not beat her, would not give up. He treated her well. She had to admit this. But her path did not include her falling in love, nor did it include her staying in one place. She would be lying if she said she had no feelings for this man but… They were just fleeting moments. Her path was to reach the sea of stars. It was to meet up with her Mama once more and tell her all about her journeys. And then one day visit Rain and see all her little nieces and nephews as a family.
Andrea frowned, he already knew her answer, but he would not let her go. He had been saved by Angelica and fell in love with her at first sight. He went from being a weak voidling to a void pinnacle in order to try to catch up to her. He wanted to match her as best as he could. For a hundred years, he spent his time chasing after her. But her power was beyond anything he could ever hope to catch up to. But he still had hope. That may be his efforts would go noticed. They even had many special moments together during their travels. But it seemed it was never enough.
"Angel, I know you are strong. I know you have your goals. All I ask is for a few more years of your time. Create a family with me and after they are old..." Andre's words were met with a ball of fire flying past his head. He looked up at Angelica, whose expression was blank.
"Do you really think I would give up the goals that I have had for over a hundred years for a man I do not love? Do you think I would give up my purity for a man I do not love? I will admit you have touched my heart many times, but Andre, that was all you did. You touched it, and then the next moment, my heart was back to normal. You should know me better than anyone else. I am a person with an unwavering determination.
"I have almost died many times in my battles. My body is already riddled with numerous scars. I don't care for beauty. I do not care for love. My only goal is to be with the family members who I hold dear to my heart. The only thing I care for is the love of my family and nothing else. Since you have brought so many people here today, I can already tell you never planned to let me go. Then so be it. Before I become an ascended, let's finish things between the two of us once and for all." Angelica looked at the handsome man in front of her with a bit of sorrow in her eyes. But as she closed them and reopened them again, her eyes were filled with icy coldness and an unwavering determination.
Andre did not miss that glimpse of sorrow in Angelica's eyes, but he knew she was determined to leave no matter what. He let out a long sigh. He never planned for things to turn out like this. But since they have, there was no stopping what was to come. He raised his sword and let it slowly fall, signaling the start of the battle. An army of over a few thousand against a single young woman. "Angelica… You forced my hand..."
A loud roar filled the air as the army rushed forward. Angelica looked at the incoming enemies, readied her sword, and then shot forward. She was never one to wait for her enemy to come to her. She was always proactive. Her number one rule was never to give the enemy time to attack her. Always attack first.
Angelica's body flashed many times before arriving in front of one of her attackers and slashing out. Her actions were smooth and well practiced. Once she started cutting people down, she did not stop. One after the other, as if in a dance, she would thrust and slash her sword, killing one person with each strike. While her sword was busy killing, her other hand was casting spells. With her interest in ancient knowledge, she was casting ancient spells that were unstoppable, killing tens of hundreds of people with each spell cast.
The battle of a few thousand versus one was a short lived battle. In a matter of minutes, Angelica stood there with splatters of blood on her white robes, looking at the handsome man in front of her. "Andre, you can still walk away from this."
Andre looked at Angelica's beautiful face that showed no signs of wavering, and sighed. "I would rather die than live without you."
Angelica shook her head, her body flashing. Before Andre could even lift his sword, his heart was already in her hand. "You should know, no sword can hurt me, and no one can change my path. I hold your heart in my hand, so allow me to fully crush it so you can finally have peace."
She clenched her fist, causing the heart in her hand to burst., blood going every which way. The expression on Angelica's face never wavered once. "Life has many paths. You chose yours, and I chose mine. Now that your's has ended, mine can continue. Andre, If you ever get reincarnated, I hope the love of your next life comes true."
Andre did not say a word. He only smiled when he saw the tears rolling down Angelica's cheek. As he died, he only had one thought. "It seems you did have some feelings for me after all."
The love between the two was never meant to be. Angelica knew that, and that was why she tried to push him away. But he never gave up, and in the end, he died by her hand. Angelica flew down and caught his falling body, and gently landed on the ground before laying him down. She waved her hand and created a hole in the ground. She then placed Andre's body inside of it before filling it back up. With a rock from nearby, she fashioned it into a sword with a rose at the top, and engraved in the tombstone were three words. "A Good Man."
"Now..." After a moment of silence, Angelica wiped her eyes and found a clear place within the ruins. She looked up at the sky as she opened her menu and hit the button that would allow her to enter the next realm.

"Mama, we have been traveling for a long time..." Bell looked out the window that was nothing but shiny stars, feeling slightly bored.
"Mmm… Eve said it would only be a little while longer before she can break away some of the barrier in my mind so I can retrieve some of my memories. I could have headed to my old home world, but I decided to leave it be. Once I have more knowledge of who I am, I can then decide on my next path." Kana and Bell had been floating through space for who knows how long. Only stopping off at worlds to restock on food. She was waiting on Eve to finally break through the barrier. Otherwise, she was at a loss of where to go. No matter how much she tried to remember, she was just unable to. The seal in her mind was just too strong. Although she had felt that over the course of the years, she had been feeling like she had been having dreams about people she should know but she could never remember them when she woke up.
"Master, I have finished analyzing the barrier…."
