Chapter 465 - Diving Into The Enemy’s Domain Part 2
Since it was decided that everyone was going, the group headed into the dark hole in the tree trunk. The ground was wet and slippery, and the air was musty. They had to tread carefully with how the ground slanted down to avoid slipping. Luckily with the flame, Kana conjured up in her hand, she could see footsteps within the muddy floor of the passage leading down, which meant they were at least on the right track. After what seemed like a spiral leading down for almost twenty minutes, they came out into a large cave with three passageways. "Really!?" Kana yelled. She wondered why it was not two passageways, why three!?
Kana took a glance at Creige's arrow and noticed it had split into three as well! "Creige, your spell sucks!"
Creige chuckled and waved his hand, getting rid of it. "It's not my fault. It just means the one who created the wooden slab is down here and has been through each of these tunnels. It only picks up on their magic, nothing more."
"Fine… Well then... " Kana scratched her head and looked at her girls who were looking back at her expectantly and sighed. "Aruya. You follow the girls. Keep me posted on their conditions."
"Don't worry, I will intervene if I feel their life is in danger." Aruya did not wish for anything to happen to Kana's children either.
"Alright then. Let's decide which way we will go." Kana sniffed the air and pointed to the right one: "I will take this one. Creige will take the middle route, and you girls will go left. Be careful and walk slowly, there is no telling how many traps are here."
"Don't worry. We have our brains, Angelica, here. She is a master at this kind of thing. You should have seen the trapped filled maze she made it through on her own. It was truly amazing." Yana praised. She was not speaking lightly either. Angelica made it through the trap maze faster than her and Rain by almost four days. It took them nine days to complete it.
"Then let Angelica lead and listen to Aruya. Her words are my words. If she says to fall back, you fall back, okay?" Kana was not trying to scold them, but she wanted to make sure they understood that this was very important.
"We understand! Aunty Aruya, let's go!" Rain said, taking Arya's hand and heading down the left tunnel. The other two girls quickly followed. Rain hurried because if she stayed longer, she felt her mama would place more rules on them! Kana was truly lucky to have such well behaved kids. They never went against anything she said, in fact, they took everything as if it was the words of a true god. It was just their handsome papa they disobeyed once and a while. They had to rebel against one of them, right? At least normally when they did, it was due to them wanting to continue the trials.
Kana watched her babies run off and couldn't help but feel worried. She walked over and hugged and kissed Creige. "My babies ran off without saying goo…."
"Maaaaamaaaaa!!!!!! We forgot hugs and kisses." Rain came back yelling at the top of her lungs, no sense of fear whatsoever. Kana did not know whether to laugh or cry. She was sure that the enemy knew they were here now. She sighed but did not say anything, she went and gave each girl a hug and kiss. Even giving Aruya one since she looked envious. Once they got what they wanted, they each gave Creige a kiss on the cheek and ran off.
"Feel better?" Creige asked, his eyes smiling.
Kana shook her head, unsure of how to react really. "These girls. Creige, I am off, be careful. I do not wish to be a widow any time soon."
Creige smiled as he watched Kana stick her tongue out at him and run off just like the girls. "It's like I have four kids now. " Creige turned his attention to the middle passage and frowned. He could feel something very dangerous in this passage. This was why he sent one of Kiliffia's hairs down the right passage. He did not want Kana to run into whatever this is.
He had no idea what it was, but whatever it was, gave him a bad feeling, something he had not felt in many, many years. He waved his hand, causing a black double edged sword to appear in his hand that had death qi swirling around it. This sword was connected to his soul. It was a sword that was given to him by his one and only lover. He never wished to let kana see this sword now. He did not wish for her to remember anything until she was ready to travel to the sea of stars.
Kana walked down the dimly lit rocky passage with her sword drawn. She was still worried about her babies and kept asking Aruya for a status every ten seconds. After almost five minutes of this, Aruya started to report in before Kana could ask. After getting halfway down the passage, Kana stopped and frowned. Kiliffia's scent had disappeared. "What's going on?" Kana sniffed the air. She did smell something, but it did not smell like Kiliffia. "Are my senses playing tricks on me? I swore I smelt her scent coming from this passage."
Kana smelled around and caught wind of the scent again. Although faint, it was coming from behind her. Turning around, Kana walked back towards the entrance once again, only to stop and look down to see a single hair on the ground. "This..."
Kana picked it up and smelled the hair. It was definitely Kiliffia's and from the tuft that she found in the hut, but she had given that tuft to Creige…. "He didn't, did he!? He must have! But why?" Kana was confused. She did not understand why Creige wanted her to go down this tunnel. "Was there something down the other tunnel? Is this why he did that? The left tunnel must be safe if he let the kids go down there, so that meant the middle tunnel led to someplace dangerous."
