Chapter 888: Chapter 888: Received the Hospital’s Death Call

Tang Lingmu’s voice grew increasingly choked with emotion as he spoke, "That small clinic... its medical standards were poor...

My sister... my sister... she died during the surgery... one body, two lives...

And the day I hit Lu Chenyang was the same day my sister died during an abortion surgery, one body two lives.

It was also the day I was supposed to receive the best actor award, even though the winner was not officially announced, the organizers had informed me in advance—it was undoubtedly me."

In fact, many awards in the entertainment industry are given with prior notice to the recipients; they all have an idea.

Therefore, at many award ceremonies, the stars who attend usually win, while those who don’t attend generally do not.

"At the time, I had a very good relationship with Lu Chenyang, so he knew too.

However, just as I was about to go on stage to accept the award, Lu Chenyang suddenly told me that before coming here, he took my sister to a small clinic for an abortion, and he told me the child was his. He even said some vile things, and I couldn’t hold back—I hit him.

My sister was not yet an adult, and that beast made her pregnant. Not only did he shirk responsibility, but he also took her to a clinic with outdated equipment and poor medical standards for the abortion.

What was even worse was that while my sister was undergoing an abortion surgery for him, he wasn’t even with her at the hospital to support her; instead, he was acting as if nothing had happened, attending the award ceremony.

When I was about to call my sister, I received a call from the hospital about her death.

My sister’s health had always been poor, and compounded by her long-term emotional breakdown and low spirits, her body deteriorated even further. The poor medical standards at the clinic, coupled with Lu Chenyang breaking her heart... all these factors combined...

The surgery failed, my sister passed away, and the child was not saved..."

Tang Lingmu leaned against the wall, his body slowly sinking down, burying his head in his knees, unwilling to show his vulnerability to others.

Tang Lingmu once blamed himself entirely for his sister’s death.

It was the time when Tang Lingmu had just risen to fame, and his schedule was packed with countless engagements, always tied up with filming, only calling his sister when he had some free time. His sister would always say to him, "I’m doing well, brother."

Tang Lingmu’s sister was named Tang Yunyun, an art student studying fine arts. Since Tang Yunyun’s health was poor from a young age, Tang Lingmu rented an apartment for her near her school.

Tang Yunyun’s death made Tang Lingmu feel that it was all due to his busy work schedule, not having enough time to accompany and care for his sister.

He didn’t even know his sister was pregnant, and only found out when she was having an abortion surgery, one body two lives.

Tang Yunyun’s death dealt Tang Lingmu a heavy blow. While handling his sister’s funeral arrangements, he fell into a spiral of self-blame and guilt, and from then on, he couldn’t recover.

Meanwhile, the internet was flooded with criticism about Tang Lingmu hitting someone at the award ceremony.

At the time, Tang Lingmu was too devastated by Tang Yunyun’s death to care, but Lu Chenyang managed his public relations to perfection.

While Lu Chenyang crafted and packaged a favorable image for himself, he vividly contrasted it against the image of Tang Lingmu as unrepentant, violent, irritable, and of poor character.

When Tang Lingmu finished handling his sister’s funeral and sought out Lu Chenyang for vengeance,

Tang Lingmu faced all kinds of contract terminations, monetary penalties, and malicious remarks raging across the internet...
