After Wang Yi finished dealing with personal matters, he emerged from the woods with Chiang Xiao, glanced at the lake, and asked, "Should we still go over and have a look?"

The purpose of coming out was partly for this too.

Chiang Xiao looked at the wooden boat and noticed for the first time a set of clothes on it—a military green kind of rough cloth, and a pair of cloth shoes.

She immediately pulled Wang Yi back a few steps.

"There’s someone in the lake."

Wang Yi was startled.

"Could they have gone swimming? But it’s still so cold..."

The lake water must be cold too, right?

Yet, there’s a boat, so someone must be around.

They had previously assumed the person had gone elsewhere and would return later, never thinking there would be someone in the lake in this weather.

But then, as if to fulfill Wang Yi’s words, there was a splash, and a head emerged from the water not far from the boat.

The person wiped the water from their face and looked over.

The face had a wheatish skin tone, with well-defined features and deep-set eyes, looking like a mixed-race individual.

It was hard to judge the age just by looking.

However, from the shoulders and arms exposed above water, it was apparent that the person wasn’t wearing any clothes.

Chiang Xiao immediately turned to leave with Wang Yi.

"Hey! Girls!"

The person shouted.

Wang Yi grabbed her arm, "Xiao Chiang, do you really want them to go down and help catch the fish?"

"I do."
