"Hey, why do you only tell half the story, bird?"

"I really don’t know."

"Are you playing tricks on me?"

Xiao Jiu said helplessly, "Aunt, I really don’t know, what Long Yi said was just sleep talking, he only said one sentence and then fell back asleep. How would I know what he wanted to say?"

Zi Xia: "Is that so?"

Xiao Jiu: "Of course it’s true, if I’m lying, I’m a little dog."

Zi Xia scoffed and said, "Don’t dream on, even if you keep lying to me, you won’t turn into a little dog, you’d better stay a bird."

Xiao Jiu burst into tears instantly, "What’s wrong with being a bird? Isn’t it good? I can even gather information about your sweetheart for you."

Zi Xia blushed, "Fine, you’re the best, happy now?"

Xiao Jiu: "That’s more like it."

Zi Xia: "Let’s call it even for tonight’s event, and don’t bring it up again in the future."

"Humph!"

"What? Are you not convinced?"

"You caused my master to lock me in a cage, and that jerk threw me out. You think it’s over just like that?"

"What else do you want? Don’t forget, you haven’t wronged me enough in the past. If I count one by one, there’s a big basketful. Do you want me to count them for you?"

Xiao Jiu, who was just full of confidence, immediately deflated. Admitting fault right away was too humiliating, so after pretending to think it over, he said generously, "Alright, a real man doesn’t hold grudges against a little woman. Let’s just leave it at that."

It’s better to resolve animosity than to let it linger. Besides, their masters are all young ladies. If they keep fighting like this, it will definitely go wrong in the future.

So, Zi Xia nodded in agreement to reconcile.

Xiao Jiu yawned, "Ugh, I’m so sleepy. I won’t talk to you anymore, I’m going back to sleep!"

Zi Xia looked up at the sky; it was pitch dark all around, with nightfall deepening: "It’s getting late, I should go see if the Prince has finished eating, clean up quickly, and let them rest early."

The Prince hadn’t returned to the mansion for several days, surely he had a lot to say to the Missy.

Zi Xia decided to clear the table early, so they could rest well.

However, upon returning to the Rain Listening Courtyard, she saw that the Missy’s room was completely dark, indicating that she had already gone to sleep.

"Oh well, I’ll tidy up tomorrow morning!" Zi Xia muttered softly, turning to return to her room to rest.

The next day, at dawn.

As the sky was just getting light, Zi Xia, leading a few maids with washing utensils, lined up in front of Xuexue’s door, waiting for the Prince and the Princess Consort to wake up, ready to assist them with their morning routine.

At this moment, Long Yi, looking exhausted, came over.

Zi Xia thought of the words Xiao Jiu had said to her last night, and her face turned red instantly.

Feeling a bit flustered and awkward, she stood there, her demeanor completely unnatural, giving off a guilty vibe.

"Little Xia, what’s wrong with you? Not feeling well? Why is your face so red?" Long Yi asked curiously as he approached.

"No!" Zi Xia’s voice was small and shy, as if she had turned into a different person from her usually easygoing self.

Long Yi reached out to feel her forehead, "No fever, why is your face so red? Really strange."

"Ah, what are you doing?" Zi Xia became even more embarrassed by Long Yi’s touch.

The maids nearby saw this and covered their mouths, laughing. Silly Miss Zi Xia, can’t you see Guard Long is concerned about you?

Long Yi said honestly, "I thought you had a fever, just checking."

Zi Xia felt a sweet warmth inside, but her words were different, her tone firm, "What’s there to check? Didn’t I tell you I’m fine?"
