Chapter 1416: Chapter 1416: Jin Hao’s Inquiry
"They say that a teacher can lead you to the door, but the practice is up to the individual. If you can blend into the Chinese community, it’s by your own skills."
"Ah Li, regardless of whether it’s Mr. Lan’s instruction, you helped me, and that’s a fact. So, I should sincerely thank you."
"Alright, let’s not be overly polite with each other. Today, you successfully made inroads into the Chinese community, and now it depends on your cooking skills the day after tomorrow. These Chinese people, having been away from their homeland for a long time, still miss it, especially the hometown cuisine."
"I understand, Ah Li, don’t worry. I’ll make sure the food is good the day after tomorrow and won’t let you down."
"Okay, I’ll be waiting. By the way, there may be some trouble with Jin Hao. You need to think of a way to deal with it. If you really can’t handle it, call me, and I’ll help you talk to him."
"I know."
After Ah Li dropped Jiang Xue off at the hotel, she went back to her own restaurant. Fortunately, the hotel wasn’t too far from the restaurant, just about a five-minute drive.
As Jiang Xue and Huo Cong entered the hotel, they were stopped by Ah Lin, who said, "Miss Jiang, the boss is waiting for you."
"Mr. Jin is here?" Jiang Xue was slightly taken aback. She expected Jin Hao might come looking for her, but she didn’t expect him to be so impatient; she hadn’t even returned yet, and he was already here.
"Yes, waiting for Miss Jiang."
"Lead the way."
Ah Lin led Jiang Xue to a guest room on the second floor, then knocked on the door. It wasn’t until Jin Hao’s voice came from inside that Ah Lin opened the door, walked in, and said, "Boss, Miss Jiang is here."
"Come in."
Ah Lin brought Jiang Xue into the room and then stepped aside. Jin Hao, sitting on the sofa, glanced up at Jiang Xue and then said, "Miss Jiang, have a seat."
Jiang Xue sat down, looked at Jin Hao, and asked with a smile, "May I know why Mr. Jin is looking for me?"
Jin Hao poured Jiang Xue a cup of tea before asking, "Miss Jiang, how did you find today’s Chinese gathering?"
"It was okay, but I didn’t know those people and they didn’t seem easy to approach, so I stayed by Ah Li’s side the whole time."
Jiang Xue didn’t dare to say much, fearing Jin Hao might find something out. Actually, Jin Hao could be considered half-Chinese, but she wasn’t sure why he didn’t go.
"You just arrived and aren’t familiar with them; it’s no surprise you couldn’t fit into their circle," Jin Hao said gradually, without doubting Jiang Xue’s earlier words. He understood those Chinese people to some extent. Previously, his father used to take him to their gatherings, but those people didn’t like him much.
Because of that, he rarely went afterward, and his father also stopped going. It’s been a long time since their family attended a Chinese gathering.
"Mr. Jin is right." Jiang Xue nodded slightly without speaking further about the gathering of Chinese people. She was more concerned about why Jin Hao was looking for her now.
However, after saying those words, Jin Hao remained silent, just drinking his tea, leaving Jiang Xue unable to decipher his expression.
Unable to see clearly, Jiang Xue withdrew her gaze and lowered her head to drink tea.
Time passed bit by bit, and Jiang Xue, growing a bit impatient as she was about to speak again, heard Jin Hao’s voice, "Miss Jiang, what do you think of Ah Li?"
Jiang Xue was startled, wondering if Jin Hao had discovered Ah Li’s identity.
