Rebirth in Showbiz: How to Win the Showbiz Emperor's Heart?
Chapter 874 Killing the Chicken to Warn the Monkey
This was exactly what all the staff wanted to ask.
He must’ve known the truth ages ago, so why go to all this trouble gathering everyone here? Wouldn’t it be easier to just grab the culprit directly?
For a moment, everyone stared straight at Bo Yimo.
Bo Yimo swept a lazy glance around the room and said lightly, “Kill the chicken to scare the monkeys.”
Just four simple words, and everyone was totally confused.
Kill what chicken, scare what monkey?
Everyone was wearing the same dumbfounded expression.
In the end, Meng Ping’s mind was the quickest. The two of them were already a couple, very affectionate, and Tong Yan was the victim, so he instantly got it.
What a move—kill the chicken to scare the monkeys.
Everything he did was purely for Tong Yan.
He was telling everyone: whoever dares to even think about bullying Tong Yan will end up miserable beyond belief.
Meng Ping’s heart trembled. So now the PDA has officially gone live on set.
But they didn’t dare talk back. Meng Ping didn’t know exactly what kind of person Bo Yimo was, and didn’t dare find out. Anyone who could pull all this over just one “drinking-accompanying” party was definitely not some harmless nice guy. Since he dared to show up so openly now, obviously those people at the party had already been dealt with.
If he could clean up the people at that drinking party without scruples, his status was clearly way up there.
People like that were way out of their league.
And by extension, Tong Yan was even more untouchable.
Granted, they’d basically invited a living Buddha in, but it had its perks—looked like the crew might actually get through this shoot peacefully.
In just a few short minutes, Meng Ping had thought through all of this and nodded. “Young Master Mo, rest assured, nothing will happen to Tong Yan in our crew.”
Bo Yimo glanced at him but said nothing.
He was a bit surprised inside—didn’t expect this guy to be so on the ball.
Once everything was handled, everyone thought Bo Yimo would leave. Instead, they watched him walk straight into Tong Yan’s private room. Apparently, he wasn’t going anywhere.
Not only did Bo Yimo not leave, he stuck around for several days.
Everyone went from shocked and cautious at the beginning to completely numb later on.
What can you do? If you keep eating dog food nonstop, you’re bound to get sick of it.
When Tong Yan was filming, Bo Yimo would wait right off to the side. During breaks, they’d be all lovey-dovey, acting intimate, he’d pour tea and water for her, cheer her on, and any time they had a free second, the two of them would be cuddling.
How were the single dogs supposed to survive this?
They really wanted to pull them apart, but absolutely did not dare, okay!
So yeah, they couldn’t be the only ones stuck eating dog food.
So some staff started posting their daily couple moments to Weibo, even opened a series called “Feeding the Dogs Daily.”
Originally that Weibo account was just a tiny alt with almost no followers, but the two people in the pics were currently top traffic magnets. Word of mouth spread, the poster blew up, and their follower count went from a few hundred to tens of thousands, still climbing.
Fans were loving the gossip:
233333, I knew it, why haven’t they been flaunting their love at us? Turns out they’ve been doing it on set.
Heart goes out to the OP, taking critical hits every day.
OP hang in there, OP don’t cry.
…
Once Meng Ping saw this, he understood. There was no way someone would suddenly get dismissed for no reason; it had to be connected to that drinking party. For someone that high up to be stripped of their position, Young Master Mo’s identity had to be sky-high.
Thinking along those lines, Meng Ping became even more polite and careful with Tong Yan, to the point he didn’t even dare raise his voice around her…
