Tong Yan’s mind went "boom," and she couldn’t see anything, couldn’t hear anything; her mouth just kept muttering unconsciously, "What did you say, I didn’t hear you just now, say it again..."

The person on the other end of the line really thought she hadn’t heard clearly, and repeated it in detail once more.

With a loud "clang," the phone slipped from her hand and fell to the floor, making a sharp sound.

The atmosphere grew even heavier; the pressure in the air dropped so low that many of the servants just stood there, not daring to move.

Tong Yan just stood there dumbly, her expression vacant, like a statue, motionless for a long time, as if even the sound of breathing had disappeared.

This felt like an illusion.

She didn’t believe it; she refused to believe that her Yimo was gone.

How was that possible? He was the hero in her heart, an omnipotent existence.

They must be lying to her. Maybe this was a trap set up by Old Master Bo, just to force her and her Yimo apart.

Tong Yan’s heart felt as if thousands of fine needles were pricking it over and over, a pain so intense it drove her mad.

Yimo... her Yimo...

Tong Yan’s legs suddenly gave out, and she collapsed straight to the floor, her smile uglier than a sob. "Old Master, everything on that call was a lie, right? You deliberately had someone say that, didn’t you? Tell me, hurry and tell me, as long as you say just one ’yes’ that’s enough. Aren’t you the one who wanted me and Yimo to break up? As long as you say ’yes,’ I’ll leave him. Say it, all right? I’m begging you, just say it..."

Her smile was steeped in ultimate sadness, a pain as if she had lost the whole world, lost all drive to live; there is no greater sorrow than a heart that has died.

By the time Tong Yan finished, she could no longer even form words through her sobs.

Since her rebirth, this was the first time she had cried. Tears welled in her eyes, slowly spilling over, her sobs small and weak, like a desperate little beast in its final struggle before death.

Out there, Tong Yan had always been so strong, strong to the point of being unbreakable, willful to the point of lawlessness; that was only because Bo Yimo had always been there, shielding her from the wind and rain.

If she lost Bo Yimo, what would Tong Yan have left? Nothing at all.

Being questioned like this, Old Master Bo staggered back a few steps, nearly collapsing. Fortunately, a servant behind him caught him so he didn’t fall. He opened his mouth several times only to close it again, saying nothing. That single word "yes"—he wanted to say it, but he had no standing to say it.

His Little Mo had once been so formidable, a top figure in the special forces unit; just hearing his name was enough to strike fear into the enemy. How could he die so easily? He didn’t believe it.

Right. He must not believe it.

The always robust Old Master Bo seemed to age ten years in an instant. He bent down, his back hunched, hands trembling as he picked up the phone, his voice suppressing a deep ache. "Where is the address? I want to go there myself."

The person on the other end thought for a moment. The mission was almost over now, so the address should be okay to disclose, and he read out a string of coordinates.

After Old Master Bo got the address, he straightened up and said to the old house steward behind him, "Old He, go get my uniform. I’m going to personally bring that brat back and then give him a beating, daring to scare his old grandfather like this. The older he gets, the less sense he has..."

Before he could finish, Old Master Bo collapsed.

In an instant, the house descended into chaos, everyone flustered to the extreme—some were making calls, some were shouting for help. The room that had been quiet just moments ago suddenly burst into frantic commotion.

That address just now...

Tong Yan suddenly snapped back to herself, jolted awake. She scrambled up from the floor and bolted outside. She had to go find Yimo, and once she found him, she would scold him for making her worry so much, and she would tell him—

I love you, love you enough to live and die with you.
