Rebirth in Another World as the Undead Queen
Chapter 303 ·The Trapped Alien Forces
The Trapped Alien Forces
In the jungle, a young girl wielding a one-handed sword and shield was leading a group of leather-armored soldiers in valiantly fighting in front of a number of unarmed 'civilians'.
They were...
"Commander Naoli, more and more Undead are gathering. If this continues, we'll end up being dragged to death here!"
The speaker was a male elf.
But different from the various races of the jungle, these people wore unified armor and carried standardized weapons. Rather than jungle aliens, they resembled an army!
And in this army, there were not only elves; highland dwarves, cave goblins, even beastmen and humans were present among them. All of them followed the orders of the elf called 'Naoli'.
Hearing her subordinate's report, naoli activated Eagle Eye for a new round of reconnaissance. When she saw the swarms of Undead approaching...
"Rear guard becomes the vanguard. We'll cover the retreat. Everyone, fall back!"
Naoli's command was extremely decisive. Since they had fought their way through, wiping out most of the Undead in the rear, breaking out backward was the best choice. However...
In the narrow jungle, the supply convoy couldn't turn back in time and became stuck!
"Reporting to Commander Naoli, the transport convoy can't turn around immediately."
"What!"
Receiving this news, naoli glanced back, only to see the entire convoy trapped in the long, narrow forest trail, unable to escape for the time being.
Seeing this, naoli gritted her teeth.
"Abandon the supplies, we'll break out!"
"That won't do, commander. These supplies are our lifeline! If we lose them, even if we reach the western jungle, we'll have nothing to rebuild our home with!"
"Which is more important, your life or the supplies?"
"..."
"Drop them and break out!"
"Yes!"
After the order was passed down, the group abandoned the supplies and, protected by the guards, set out to break through to the distance.
But because of a few short moments of hesitation before, they missed the best opportunity to break out. The zombies on the flanks had already moved to cut them off from behind, and several bloated hulks, surrounded by the zombies, were charging toward the guards. When Naoli noticed the presence of the Abominations, a stream of plague was already rushing at them.
The green mist ignored the shield wall and penetrated deep into the guards. Swallowed by the cloud, everyone felt short of breath and nauseated. Poisoned, their combat strength was greatly reduced.
"O wind, heed my call!"
A gale blew, dispersing the toxic mist, but the plague could not be removed. The severe negative state left them unable to stop the zombie horde, and the Abomination's close-quarters attacks shattered their defenses at once.
The Abomination's butcher knife came down, and the shield soldiers tried to resist, only to be sent flying with a single blow. As the Undead's giant beast, specialized in countering infantry, the Abomination was an unceasing battlefield meat grinder.
"I'll hold them off—retreat, all of you!"
In desperation, naoli personally went forth to block the giant beast, raising her shield to defend while chanting magic. Though she was knocked back by the giant's blow, she managed to protect the guards and the civilians among them; at the same time, her long-prepared spell was launched.
Treant Summoning!
The towering trees began to shake, and then, one after another, treants several meters tall emerged. They used their vines and bodies to block the Abominations' advance. Although these small treants couldn't withstand the giant beasts directly, they did have some anti-beast capabilities.
"With this, everyone..."
As Naoli had just started thinking this, shrill screams were heard from afar.
"Ahh!"
Turning her head, she saw that at some point, an Abomination had already broken into the guard ranks. A few powerful shield soldiers could hold him back, but only temporarily.
"Damn!"
Naoli hurriedly tried to command the treants to provide support, but...
A wave of weakness washed over her. Her natural energy was exhausted. And with the supply of natural energy gone, the treants gradually slowed and were cut apart by the Abominations.
"Damn, my remaining natural energy is used up. If the Queen were still here..."
But their Queen was gone, and so their clan had almost completely lost the ability to commune with nature. What becomes of elves without natural energy?
This!
Breaking through the treants' obstruction, the Abominations charged forward again. The elven priests wanted to offer support, but natural energy was gone.
Clang!
Bracing herself physically, naoli blocked another blow from the Abomination, but then another Abomination's bone club came at her. She couldn't block in time.
Boom!
With crushing force, naoli felt her mind go blank and her whole body go numb. After rolling on the ground a few times, she was helped up by someone.
"Commander Naoli!"
But at this point, all Naoli could hear was a buzzing in her ears and the endless sounds of battle. When her mind cleared a little...
"I'll eat you all!"
The Abomination had already broken through, and the group hurriedly pulled Naoli back while sending others to block the monster. But with so few broken and battered troops left, what could they do against this giant beast?
Watching the great blade swing down, the shield soldiers raised their shields, gritted their teeth, closed their eyes, and roared to bolster their courage.
"Ahhh!"
Bang!
A violent shockwave erupted. The shield soldiers staggered, but the expected impact never came...
"Huh?"
Looking over at the charging Abomination, they saw that its massive body had been blasted apart—fully one-third of it destroyed. The one responsible was...
"Gefemar, go!"
"Graaa!"
The mighty dragon dove down, magical energy in its maw growing more intense, and then unleashed a giant-beast version of 'Death Wave'.
Buzz!
Boom!
On the second strike, the level 28 Abomination was completely destroyed. The one responsible was none other than the over-level-38 "Beast Slayer," the Skeletal Dragon!
At the same time, two more bone dragons, making use of the dragons' fierce bodies, landed and grappled with the giant beasts. Their short forelimbs seized an Abomination, and then a blast of death breath hit its face.
"Graa!"
In the first exchange, the enemy giants were utterly routed. And when the Skeletal Dragons appeared, the guards at first thought they were enemies, but soon realized...
"Those giant beasts are helping us!"
No one knew who shouted this first, but everyone was stunned.
Rationally, skeletal Dragons were supposed to be high-ranking monsters among the Undead. Why would they help them attack the Undead?
But then...
"I'll help you carve out a path. Whether you can escape depends on you."
Serea said this, and as for why she was helping these people—
From their uniform equipment, she could tell they were troops from the Tawu Ishihara tribal alliance. But why had they come here?
Serea very much wanted to find this out, so seeing as they were all 'aliens', she decided to lend a hand. Helping them was no trouble, and it was a good chance to test the Skeletal Dragon's strength while also harvesting some Death Crystal.
"Flying squadron!"
"Screech!"
One by one, black dots appeared in the sky—these were one of the Darkmoon clan's airborne combat units, the Shadow Drakehawk!
And following the dragonhawks were two enormous Gargoyles.
