So when Wu Yun introduced him like that, Qian Guoliang was only stunned for a moment. A kindly smile soon spread across his face as he patted Wu Yun on the back. "Xiaoyun! You’ve really suffered all these years! We spent so much time and effort looking for you!"

"Hahaha! Who would have thought! After searching high and low for you... and you were right here all along!"

Yu Min stepped forward, wanting to support Qian Guoliang. "Dad! Let’s talk inside! We should eat first! We can chat while we eat."

Qian Guoliang waved her away. "Let go! I can walk on my own. I haven’t reached the point where I can’t move."

With that, Qian Guoliang strode confidently through the hotel’s main entrance.

Wu Yun and Yu Min exchanged a look, and both broke into smiles.

"Wang Hao, show them to the table we reserved for dinner!" Wu Yun said before following after his grandfather.

The three of them sat in a small private dining room, each taking a different side of the table.

Wu Yun patiently answered Qian Guoliang’s endless stream of questions.

When Qian Guoliang asked if he had a girlfriend, Yu Min covered her mouth and chuckled. "Dad! Your grandson is quite the Casanova! He actually has three official girlfriends!"

"If your dad, Qian Shujun, dared to pull something like this, I’d have broken his legs long ago! But you’re my grandson, so it’s fine! As long as you’re not married, you’re not breaking any laws!"

Qian Guoliang hesitated for a moment. "Xiaoyun, I know it would be difficult to ask you to change your surname back to ours now, and Grandpa won’t force you."

"But I have one request that I hope you’ll grant me."

Qian Guoliang, with his military background, didn’t like to beat around the bush, so he got straight to the point. "I hope that in the future, you’ll let one or two of your children take the Qian surname."

Wu Yun nodded. "No problem, Grandpa."

At that, Qian Guoliang finally burst into loud laughter. "Come, Xiaoyun! Have a couple of drinks with your grandpa!"

Yu Min, who was beside them, tried to intervene. "Dad! The doctor told you to quit drinking! Why don’t you ever listen?"

Qian Guoliang waved his hand dismissively. "It’s fine! I don’t normally drink, but I’m happy today! I have to have a little something!"

"Here, Xiaoyun! Fill up Grandpa’s glass!"

Yu Min didn’t try to stop them again. But as Wu Yun filled a glass with the strong baijiu, about a hundred milliliters’ worth, she spoke up. "Dad! Just this one glass today! If you have any more, don’t blame me for embarrassing you in front of your grandson!"

"Alright, alright!" Qian Guoliang said with a hearty laugh. "Your mother is just like that. She might sound harsh, but she’s actually very kind!"

"Come on, Xiaoyun! Let’s have a drink!"

Wu Yun quickly stood up and raised his glass, tapping it below Qian Guoliang’s in a gesture of respect. Qian Guoliang chuckled. "Ah, we don’t need to bother with all that ceremony!"

They had just taken their first sip when Wu Yun’s phone started ringing with a video call.

Seeing Wu Yun hesitate, Yu Min asked, "Son, who is it? Is it inconvenient for you to answer?"

Wu Yun shook his head. "Mom, it’s your daughters-in-law!"

"Then answer it! Let your grandpa and I see what they look like!" Yu Min said with a smile.

So Wu Yun accepted the call and briefly panned the camera across Yu Min and Qian Guoliang.

"Xiaoyun—" Qi Fei started to say, but upon seeing two strangers, she stopped short.

"So what’s this good news you were going to tell us today? Honestly, you’ve kept us in suspense for so long!" Qi Fei said with a laugh.

A smile spread across Wu Yun’s face. "Something very unexpected happened today. I found my family, who I’ve been separated from for years!"

"Here, let me introduce you!" Wu Yun switched to the front-facing camera and sat down next to Qian Guoliang so both women could see him. "This is my grandpa!"

"Grandpa! This is Qi Fei! She’s a sophomore in Modu right now!" Wu Yun said, tapping Qi Fei’s video feed to make it full-screen.

Qi Fei introduced herself with natural poise. "Hello, Grandpa! I’m Qi Fei, from Sichuan! I’m so sorry I can’t be there with Wu Yun today. Please, you must stay in Jingyang for a few more days. I’ll get a flight back tomorrow morning!"

Qian Guoliang laughed heartily and nodded. "Don’t you worry, young lady! There will be plenty of time in the future! Don’t let it interfere with your studies! Next time, have Xiaoyun bring all of you to visit us in Jinling or the Capital City!"

Wu Yun then tapped on Wen Meng’s video. "Grandpa! This is Wen Meng. She goes to the same university as me and is a junior this year."

Wen Meng looked a little nervous as she faced Qian Guoliang. "Grandpa! I’m Wen Meng! I had no idea this was the surprise Wu Yun was talking about! I’ll pack my things and drive back to Jingyang right now!"

"No, no, no! Young lady, driving at night is too dangerous! You stay at school and focus on your studies! We can all have a casual meal together when you’re on break!"

Qian Guoliang made a bit more small talk with the two of them before handing the phone back to Wu Yun.

Wu Yun took the phone, of course, and moved over to his mother, introducing her to them.

Seeing her two future daughters-in-law on the screen, Yu Min finally understood why Wu Yun wanted to have several girlfriends.

The more Yu Min looked, the more she liked them, and she really wanted to meet them in person. However, Qian Guoliang had already spoken, telling them to visit during their school break. Yu Min didn’t want to overstep her authority and cause her father-in-law to lose face.

"Feifei! Meng Meng! I’m so sorry, this auntie wasn’t prepared at all. Add me on WeChat in a little bit! I’ll give you a little welcome gift!"

Yu Min didn’t chat much longer. She handed the phone back to Wu Yun and urged him to forward her WeChat contact info to the two young women.

A moment later, two consecutive notification pings sounded from Yu Min’s phone.

After accepting their friend requests, Yu Min sent a 10,001 yuan transfer to each of them, along with a voice message. "For our first meeting, this auntie didn’t have anything prepared. You must accept this red envelope. It represents your status in my heart: you are truly one in ten thousand."

During the meal, Yu Min turned to Wu Yun and asked, "Son, give me the bank account numbers for all three of your girlfriends. Oh, right! But first, start a video call with the other girl. I want to meet her too!"

"Mom, Grandpa! Let me be clear first! Please don’t mention Qi Fei or Wen Meng. Bai Yue is in Capital City right now, and she doesn’t know about the others!"

Wu Yun had already video called Bai Yue that morning to tell her he was back in Jingyang, and had only sent a simple message in the afternoon about some good news.

So when the video call connected, Bai Yue asked the same question as the others.

Wu Yun, of course, repeated his introductions for Qian Guoliang and Yu Min.

It was the first time Qian Guoliang and Yu Min had ever helped a younger family member cover up a lie, but given their life experience, they played their parts so well that Bai Yue didn’t sense anything was amiss.

Naturally, Yu Min sent Bai Yue the same transfer amount and repeated the same words.

Then, she made another phone call. "Xiaoli, help me transfer two million to each of these three accounts."

"That’s right! Right now! And put in the memo: ’Some pocket money from Auntie.’"

Wu Yun quickly tried to stop her. "Mom! You don’t have to give them that much! They aren’t short on money!"

Qian Guoliang chuckled. "Xiaoyun, you shouldn’t think that way. The money they have is from you or their own families! It’s only right that your mother gives them something too. Otherwise, that ten thousand and one yuan makes us look too stingy!"

Seeing that Wu Yun was about to protest further, Qian Guoliang waved his hand. "Enough! Let’s eat! Now, come have another drink with this old man!"

Resigned, Wu Yun could only respectfully raise his glass and take a mouthful of the fiery baijiu.

After a few more rounds of drinks, Wu Yun finally said, "Grandpa, Mom, I’ll get rooms for you here at the hotel tonight. I only have that old house and a three-bedroom apartment in Jingyang, neither of which is very convenient for you to stay in."

"Tomorrow, I’ll show you around Jingyang! Then we can visit some other attractions in Rongcheng!"

Yu Min and Qian Guoliang’s arrival had completely upended Wu Yun’s plans. He was originally supposed to meet up with Wang Gang and the others tomorrow, but now it looked like he would have to wait until the project was completed to go see them.

Yu Min knew that Wu Yun was now the boss of several large companies and must be incredibly busy, so she smiled and declined his offer. "Don’t go to all that trouble. We’ll just stay in Jingyang for one day and leave tomorrow."

"I still have a mountain of work piled up at my company that I need to deal with!"

Qian Guoliang nodded in agreement. "Xiaoyun, you go ahead and take care of your own business! If you’re free during the May Day holiday, come to the Capital City! We can all go see your maternal grandfather! You can have a drink with him then! Hahahaha!"

"Dad! This is your last glass for today!"

Qian Guoliang nodded repeatedly, thinking to himself, ’This is the last glass... for today!’
