"Thank you, Senior Sister!"

The four girls quickly climbed into the car and shut the doors. Zhang Qiuyue said apologetically, "Senior Sister, I’m so sorry, we’ve overloaded the car. If we get pulled over, I’m willing to pay the fine and take the points."

Hearing Zhang Qiuyue, her three roommates quickly voiced their agreement.

Wen Meng turned to glance at the back row, which was dim under the passing streetlights, but she could still clearly see Zhang Qiuyue’s face. She wore a sincere expression, while the other three girls looked a bit reserved.

"It’s fine. Don’t worry about little things like that!"

Zhang Qiuyue hesitated for a moment, then broke into a smile. "Well, thank you then, Senior Sister!"

"Oh, right, Senior Sister, let’s add each other on WeChat. Once we get to the university, we’ll transfer you the fare!" Zhang Qiuyue said, pulling out her phone.

"That’s not necessary. Do we look like we’re short on cash? We’re all from the same university; it’s only right that we help each other out," Wen Meng refused again.

Zhang Qiuyue displayed her QR code. "Still, Senior Sister! Let’s add each other on WeChat! If you ever need help with anything in the future, I can lend a hand."

Seeing Zhang Qiuyue insist, Wen Meng felt she couldn’t refuse and added her on WeChat.

Zhang Qiuyue said with a hint of grievance, "Actually, I added Wu Yun’s WeChat at the start of the semester, but I’m not sure if he has a problem with me or something. He often takes days to reply, or just doesn’t reply at all."

"But I get it now. Wu Yun was probably just worried you’d misunderstand, right, Senior Sister? Even though I have a good impression of him too, I didn’t keep contacting him, to avoid any misunderstandings."

Wen Meng immediately picked up on the strong "green tea" flavor of that comment. ’Isn’t she basically saying I’m overbearing and don’t let Wu Yun talk to other women?’

Before Wen Meng could retort, Wu Yun stepped in to explain. "You’re overthinking it. I was actually using that account as a work account, so the phone was always with my secretary. He reports any messages to me."

"Ah!" Zhang Qiuyue cried out, a look of embarrassment on her face. ’Does that mean his secretary saw every single one of the messages I sent?’

Although she hadn’t sent anything explicit, it was still mortifying to have a stranger see them.

For a moment, Zhang Qiuyue didn’t know what to do.

Wu Yun saw the frozen expression on Zhang Qiuyue’s face in the rearview mirror. A corner of his mouth ticked up as he said jokingly, "After all, for a guy as handsome as me, I’m constantly getting invitations from beautiful women. There are too many to reply to!"

Zhang Qiuyue sighed internally. She didn’t know how to ask for Wu Yun’s personal contact information. For a moment, the car fell quiet.

Partway there, Xie Miao suddenly cried out, "Oh no!"

"Miaomiao, what’s wrong?" one of the other girls asked.

"I forgot the dorms are already locked for the night! We can’t get back in!" Xie Miao said, annoyed with herself.

Another girl said, "Well, let’s look online for a hotel near the university. It’s Thursday, so they probably aren’t full. We can book a standard room; it’ll be big enough for the four of us."

Only Zhang Qiuyue was looking at the back of Wu Yun’s head with a hopeful gaze. She knew Wu Yun and Wen Meng lived off-campus, and it was highly likely they had bought a place.

It wasn’t that Zhang Qiuyue was unwilling to pay for a room; she just wanted more opportunities to get close to Wu Yun but didn’t know how to bring it up.

Suddenly, an idea struck Zhang Qiuyue. "Miaomiao, I don’t have my ID with me! I can’t check into a room!"

"I didn’t bring mine either!"

"Me neither~!" the other two roommates added.

"What do we do then!?" Zhang Qiuyue asked, though her eyes darted toward Wu Yun.

Wu Yun, who had been driving the whole time, smiled. "Well, in that case, you can all just stay at my place for the night. I have plenty of rooms."

"Oh~ Well, thank you, Wu Yun! We’re sorry to be such a bother!" Zhang Qiuyue said, looking sheepish.

"It’s no trouble at all, really."

...

Wu Yun expertly navigated the car into the entrance of the Shida Modern Garden parking garage.

Zhang Qiuyue looked out the window at the scattered lights dotting the buildings above and remarked, "So this is where you live, Senior Sister Wen Meng. It’s so close to the university! Senior Sister, how much is the rent in this complex? If I get a boyfriend in the future, I’d like to rent a place here too."

Wen Meng turned to look at Zhang Qiuyue, who was leaning forward with her hands on the backs of the driver and passenger seats. "I’m not actually sure," she said. "We bought this apartment."

A flicker of an ’I knew it’ expression crossed Zhang Qiuyue’s face. Just as she was about to speak, she heard Wu Yun say, "Alright! Everybody out! We’re here!"

Only then did Zhang Qiuyue realize the car was already parked in a space.

As soon as she got out of the car, Zhang Qiuyue heard her roommates gasp in amazement.

Zhang Qiuyue looked up and saw three supercars and sports sedans of different colors, parked neatly in a row.

One was the black Lamborghini she was very familiar with. Another, an Aston Martin sports car with sleek, rounded lines, made her heart skip a beat.

Seeing the light layer of dust covering the three cars, Zhang Qiuyue felt it was a terrible waste.

"Let’s go!"

Zhang Qiuyue snapped out of her daze and quickly followed.

Along the way, Zhang Qiuyue constantly took in the decor inside the building, then followed them into an elevator paneled with wood.

After seeing Wu Yun press the button for the 31st floor, Zhang Qiuyue secretly memorized it.

Wu Yun and Wen Meng led the group to a security door clearly marked with the number 31-2.

"BEEP!~" The sound of a successful fingerprint scan chimed.

"Come on in!" Wu Yun entered first, then took out four pairs of wrapped disposable slippers from the shoe cabinet.

Wu Yun and Wen Meng also changed into their slippers.

Zhang Qiuyue surveyed the spotless and tidy environment inside the apartment. It didn’t look like a place that was lived in often.

"These two are the guest bedrooms. You can arrange yourselves however you like. There are disposable toiletries under the bathroom sink, and the cosmetics are in the bathroom as well."

After explaining all the arrangements, Wu Yun took Wen Meng by the hand and started walking toward the door.

"Wu Yun, you guys don’t live here?" Xie Miao asked in surprise.

Wen Meng turned around and smiled. "We live just downstairs, in 30-2. We won’t disturb your rest!"

By this time, Wu Yun had already changed back into his shoes. He said calmly, "Zhang Qiuyue, if you need anything, you can come down and knock on our door, or just message Senior Sister Wen Meng. You can message me, too. I have that phone with me for now."

SLAM~ As the door closed, the four girls stared at each other. After a long moment, Xie Miao sighed, "It must be nice to be rich. Buying two apartments at once!"

But then Xie Miao’s tone shifted, and she said to Zhang Qiuyue, "Qiuyue! Looks like your chances are pretty slim!"

Zhang Qiuyue’s previous plaintive demeanor was gone, replaced by a determined expression. "Opportunities are created by people."

...

Downstairs, Wu Yun and Wen Meng were lying in bed after their showers when Wen Meng suddenly said, "That Zhang Qiuyue is really something. Her technique is a bit clumsy compared to some of the other ’green teas’ I’ve seen, but I think after a few years of practice, she’ll be a real handful!"

Wu Yun laughed. "Senior Sister, do you not have confidence in yourself, or in me? I usually keep my distance from women who are that calculating, or at least I don’t give them an opening."

Wen Meng turned on her side to face Wu Yun, her slender hand tracing patterns on his chest. She rolled her eyes at him and said, "I don’t believe a word of that nonsense! If what you said was true, pigs would fly!"

With that, Wen Meng rolled on top of Wu Yun, then sat up, bracing her hands on his chest. She stared straight into his eyes and said, "I have a way to keep your mind from wandering!"

"What way is that?" Wu Yun asked, looking intrigued.

Wen Meng gave him a seductive look. "I’ll drain you dry! That way, you won’t have the energy to think about anyone else!"

...

The distinctive WeChat call ringtone sounded. Wu Yun picked up his phone and saw it was a call on his work account—from Zhang Qiuyue.

"Hello?~ Zhang Qiuyue! What’s up?" Wu Yun said, panting heavily. His voice trembled slightly, and a rhythmic clapping sound was transmitted through the phone.

"Hello? Hello? Hello?!"

Wu Yun didn’t stop moving. He muttered to himself, "What’s going on? Is the signal bad?"

He pulled the phone away from his ear, saw that the call was still connected, then held it back to his ear and said a few more words. When there was no response, he hung up.
