Rebirth: I have Monopoly System

Chapter 420 - 370: Chance Encounter

"I also came back to see if you’ve been seeing some pretty boy behind my back!" Wu Yun was, of course, just joking. ’With Wen Meng’s Affinity for him as high as 95, according to the system, he knew she would never do something like that.’

Wen Meng rolled her eyes at Wu Yun. "No pretty boys, but the number of young, handsome guys chasing me could form a line to the school gates!"

Many knew Wen Meng had a boyfriend, but because she had to perform often, uninformed outsiders and students from other years still flocked to her like moths to a flame.

Wu Yun had heard Wen Meng mention these things from time to time. And, thanks to Lai Yi, Liu Yongheng was also in the know, so Wu Yun had heard about it from him during their chats as well.

Wu Yun chuckled. "Looks like I’ll have to buy you some clothes with the words ’I have a boyfriend’ printed on them!"

Wen Meng lightly tapped Wu Yun on the chest. "Jerk! That would be way too flashy!"

Wu Yun patted the small of Wen Meng’s back. "Hurry up and get to class! I’ll wait for you out here!"

Wen Meng took Wu Yun’s hand. "Why don’t you come inside and wait for me? There are chairs in there."

"Better not! I’d definitely be a distraction. Besides, look at the way your teacher’s looking at me. If looks could kill..."

Sure enough, Wen Meng followed his gaze and saw her teacher standing by the door. The look she was giving him was... off.

’Wen Meng remembered the rumors about this professor. She was over thirty and still not married, which meant there was either something wrong with her sexual orientation or her personality.’

"Okay then! Go wait for me on the chairs downstairs! I’ll come find you after class!" With that, Wen Meng gave Wu Yun a quick peck on the cheek, then walked into the classroom amidst the squeals of her classmates.

Wu Yun smiled fondly, then turned and headed downstairs.

While waiting, Wu Yun killed time by opening the Singularity app. Seeing the female-oriented novel on his bookshelf, Wu Yun was reminded of the New Year, and those delicious dumplings... oh, wait, no! He meant his fun "sister-in-law."

So, he clicked on Liu Nana’s book. It already had over 100,000 collections and a "Ten Thousand Subscriptions" badge. In an era rampant with piracy and dominated by aggregator sites, Liu Nana’s book was already an exceptional success.

Seeing the notification for dozens of unread Chapters, he first subscribed to all of them, then casually gifted her book a Golden Alliance.

A few minutes later, Wu Yun received a message from Liu Nana: "Little Brother Wu Yun! You’re back in the country?"

Wu Yun: "/smirk/smirk/smirk, Yep!"

"Want to come back to Jingyang?"

’Although Liu Nana hadn’t said it outright, Wu Yun knew it was an invitation.’

"Sister Na! I just got back to Rongcheng. I’ll let you know if I have time to go back to Jingyang!"

After that, Wu Yun and Liu Nana exchanged a few more flirty messages before ending the chat.

Time flew by, and the clear ringing of the class bell pulled Wu Yun from the ocean of fiction.

In the short time he’d been waiting, Wu Yun had already found another book he liked and supported it with a Silver Alliance.

"Let’s go!" Wu Yun felt a light tap on his shoulder and turned to see Wen Meng and her three roommates standing behind his chair.

Wu Yun stood up, stretched, and greeted the other three women with a smile, "Hello, lovely ladies. Long time no see!"

Lai Yi’s expression turned gossipy. "Eldest Young Master Wu, you’ve been running around Hollywood. Did you get a taste of those Western chicks?"

The moment Lai Yi spoke, the other three remembered the tabloid story about him.

Wu Yun shrugged. "Their skin is nothing compared to you beautiful young ladies! It’s all rough underneath the makeup."

But Lai Yi caught the hole in his logic. She grabbed Wen Meng’s hand and said jokingly, "Meng Meng, look! Your Wu Yun went and hooked up with a Western chick behind your back! How else would he know what she looks like without makeup?"

Wen Meng covered her mouth and giggled. "My junior already told me about this. He ran into Scarlett at the gym, so they worked out together!"

"Scarlett wasn’t wearing any makeup at the time, so that’s how my junior saw her real skin," Wen Meng explained on Wu Yun’s behalf. ’But deep down, Wen Meng knew. With a personality like Wu Yun’s, there was no way he hadn’t "tasted" those Western women for himself.’

’As long as she had a place in Wu Yun’s heart and was one of his "official" girlfriends, that was enough for her!’

Lai Yi looked like she was about to say something else, but seeing Wen Meng’s unconcerned expression, she changed the subject. "Well, we won’t interrupt you two lovebirds. Let’s roll, girls!"

After the three had walked away, Wen Meng smiled and looped her arm through Wu Yun’s. "Junior! Do you have any plans for tonight?"

Wu Yun couldn’t help but pinch Wen Meng’s fair, rosy cheek. "Where’s your car? We’ll drive there."

Hearing Wu Yun, Wen Meng immediately let go of his arm, reached into her small purse, and pulled out a distinctly feminine-looking keychain.

"It’s downstairs by the dorms!"

...

Wu Yun had made a reservation at a rather famous Sichuan Cuisine restaurant in Rongcheng. It was a bit pricey for the average person, but people still flocked to it.

Having spent the better part of a month in America eating nothing but steak and seafood, it was practically unbearable for Wu Yun, who was used to spicy and numbing flavors.

That’s why the moment his plane landed in Modu, Wu Yun had Wang Hao book him a table.

Fortunately, the restaurant wasn’t too far away.

The G-Wagen weaved through the rush-hour traffic under Wu Yun’s superb driving skills. Even so, it was still 6:30 PM by the time the two of them arrived.

At the entrance of the Sichuan Cuisine restaurant, the hostess looked at the handsome couple before her, feeling that the man looked incredibly familiar, as if she had seen him somewhere online.

’Is someone that handsome a celebrity?’ the hostess wondered to herself, but she walked up without missing a beat and asked, "Do you two have a reservation?"

"Yes!" Wu Yun immediately gave his old phone number and name.

Upon hearing Wu Yun’s name, the hostess immediately remembered the famous big shot from Weibo. She never expected to see him in person.

The hostess said excitedly, "Mr. Wu, I can’t believe you came to eat in person!"

As soon as she said it, the hostess realized her slip of the tongue and quickly explained, "I’m sorry, Mr. Wu, I just got a little excited! Seeing you reminded me of that giveaway you announced!"

"Giveaway? What giveaway?" Wen Meng was completely baffled. She’d been in class all day and hadn’t had a chance to check her phone.

Wu Yun smiled. "Wolf Warrior was released, right? I posted on Weibo that anyone who shows their movie ticket can enter a giveaway I’m hosting. You can check out the details on Weibo later! My phone’s been blowing up!"

Wu Yun took out his phone and showed Wen Meng the "99+" notification badge on his Weibo app.

"Please take us to our table first," Wu Yun said to the still-dazed hostess.

The hostess nodded quickly. "Yes! Of course! Mr. Wu, please follow me!"

Wen Meng linked her arm through Wu Yun’s with one hand, and with the other, she opened the Weibo app on his phone, looking at the dense flood of DMs and comments.

She tapped open a random DM from an account with a woman’s profile picture. A few revealing photos and some explicit text made it too much for even Wen Meng to look at.

Wen Meng then opened a message from an account with an obviously female name. This one sent her contact information along with her age and measurements, also complete with pictures.

What made Wen Meng unsure whether to laugh or cry was that there was even a message from a man, saying he was gay, a "0" (a bottom), could be "salty or sweet," and could pull off both masculine and feminine looks.

Wen Meng giggled and showed the message to Wu Yun. "Hey, Junior! Why don’t you go give it a try and see what it’s like."

A chill ran through Wu Yun after he read the message. ’Fucking disgusting! How did I forget to turn off the private message function!’

"Senior! Hurry up and turn off this feature for me! Out of sight, out of mind! Just reading that sentence makes me think of... assholes! Ugh, gross! What the hell is this crap?!"

The two of them followed the hostess toward a booth inside, all while trying to figure out where to turn off the feature.

Just then, a voice called out from behind them: "Ah Yun!"
