Rebate King: Every Beauty I Spoil Makes Me a Billionaire
Chapter 426: A Voice Across The Night
[I know I’ve been asking for much as of late, but can you get me that glassy toy you new age humans use to communicate long distance without Qi... I saw a human doing interesting stuffs with it with my divine sense and got curious...]
Stan froze. ’Camilla.’
He recognized the voice instantly. Shock mixed with sharp fascination. She had coated her words in Qi and driven them straight into his mind across an unknown distance. The technique was elegant, efficient, and completely new to him.
Curiosity overrode surprise. He wanted to try it himself.
He spoke aloud in the quiet cabin, voice low and deliberate.
"It’s called phone, and yes I can get it for you..."
At the same moment he gathered Qi, wrapping it carefully around the sound waves of his own words the way she had done, then pushed the energy outward.
The system interface flared to life in cold blue light.
[You’ve successfully coated your words with QI...]
[You’ve created the Skill, QI message...]
[Your proficiency is low...]
[Your proficiency is low...]
[You can’t send the QI message yourself...]
[Your Qi coating your words is about to dissipate...]
[Do you want to send it to any of your harem...]
Stan was still reeling from the fact that he had just succeeded at all. Without hesitation he answered in his mind.
’Yes, send it to Camilla...’
He felt the invisible Qi-coated message shoot away at a speed far faster than sound, vanishing in a precise direction.
A second later the system confirmed:
[Your Qi message has been sent to Camilla successfully...]
... Camilla stood alone on the high balcony, the night wind moving freely around her.
Far below, the city spread out in a glittering sprawl of neon and streetlight, a restless carpet of gold, white, and electric blue that stretched to the horizon.
The cool air carried the distant hum of traffic and the faint metallic tang of the urban night.
She leaned one hip lightly against the railing, posture relaxed yet perfectly balanced, as though the height meant nothing to her.
Long, silky white hair spilled down her back and over one shoulder, catching the city glow like liquid silver each time the breeze lifted it.
The strands framed a pale, flawless face of otherworldly refinement, high cheekbones, soft mouth, skin that seemed almost luminous under the moonlight.
Her eyes were a deep, vivid red, luminous and predatory, reflecting the distant neon in slow, thoughtful glints. Even in stillness she radiated a quiet, ancient power, the kind that made the air around her feel denser.
Casual modern clothes did little to hide the rest of her. A thin, loose sweater of soft charcoal fabric clung just enough to reveal the full curve of her breasts and the narrow taper of her waist.
Fitted dark pants traced the rounded line of her hips and the long, shapely length of her legs. The contrast was striking: ethereal, faintly dangerous beauty wrapped in ordinary cloth, as if the century itself were only a temporary costume.
Her divine sense was fully unfurled.
In her mind the city existed as a living map, thousands of bright threads of human activity moving, speaking, working, creating. She did not attempt to process every detail at once; even a mind far beyond ordinary human limits found the sheer volume taxing if left completely open.
Instead she selected. A craftsman finishing a delicate mechanism in a late-night workshop. Two lovers arguing softly behind closed curtains. A group of young inventors sketching feverishly on a digital board.
Anything that carried novelty or intensity drew her attention for a moment before she released it again.
The range of her sense was immense. This entire city was trivial. She had once blanketed the whole of Antarctica without strain.
Even now she could clearly feel Stan guiding his Lamborghini through the streets several districts away, and, farther still, Amelia rising in an elevator toward her hotel room.
She was calmly following those distant threads when a refined strand of energy cut through the night toward her at incredible speed.
Unlike Stan, who had tensed to dodge, Camilla simply smiled, a slow, knowing curve of her lips that softened the crimson of her eyes, and accepted the message without resistance.
Stan’s voice settled clearly inside her mind.
[It’s called phone, and yes I can get it for you...]
The words hung there for a moment while her thoughts sharpened.
’So. He truly was a master cultivator.’
She had wondered before. The glimpses she had caught of his power had always felt incomplete, carefully measured. Now the proof was unmistakable.
A cultivator still trapped in the Qi Refining Realm could never coat spoken words in Qi and drive them across the city with such precision. What she had been allowed to sense until now was only what he chose to reveal. He was hiding his real cultivation realm.
Camilla’s gaze drifted back over the glittering city while the question turned slowly in her mind.
Why? Was he concealing himself from some powerful enemy who might otherwise take notice? Or was he deliberately holding back so that the immense Qi within him would not harm the fragile, unawakened humans who still moved through the world without ever having comprehended the Dao?
The night breeze stirred her white hair again. She remained still on the balcony, crimson eyes thoughtful, and let the unanswered questions linger.
Camilla remained on the high balcony, long white hair drifting in the night breeze like strands of living silver.
Her luminous red eyes stayed half-lidded, fixed on the glittering sprawl of the city below while the last echoes of Stan’s message settled inside her mind. A few moments of thoughtful silence passed. Then she decided to answer.
Gathering a thin strand of refined Qi was effortless. She coated the single word with it the way one might slip a letter into an envelope, then released the message with a soft mental push.
"Okay..."
The Qi message streaked away at once, a faint silver thread of energy cutting cleanly through the night.
