Book 12: Chapter 171: Test (2)
Every nerve of Dyon’s body was pushed to the absolute limit. Everything from the furrow of his eyebrows to the angle of his toes was precisely controlled as he struck Little Chibi again and again.
He didn’t use his hands every time. Sometimes his foot would strike, sometimes his knee, sometimes it would be just a single finger, and the alchemists could even count several times he even used his head.
It was a maddening display that left them feeling numb.
They hardly noticed the beads of sweat rapidly falling from Dyon’s body, or the reddening of his body, or even the heaviness of his breath.
To them, all they could sense were his strikes, as though that was all that was important.
In Dyon’s many lifetimes, no one had ever pushed him to such an extent in alchemy. He couldn’t remember a time he didn’t crush his opponent with absolute ease. He was simply too talented in the field, as though it was created just for him.
It was a bit ironic that it was a child he raised with his own hand that would push him to this extent.
Of course, this body was simply too weak. His body wasn’t even a single percent of what it once was. His soul was even worse. But he was having the time of his life. It had been too long since he felt such a feeling.
There really was a chance he might lose.
Dyon’s fiendish grin grew. “[Devour].”
Dozens of qi cyclones appeared to Dyon’s back, madly sucking everything toward him.
At that moment, the beast flames that had swallowed the heavenly herbs finally made their way forward. Diving into Little Chibi one after another.
Little Chibi had been specially reinforced by Dyon’s Weapon’s Pagoda. Even after entering the immortal realms, it could still produce treasures the equivalent to Dyon’s soul strength.
Simply put, he had access to a near infinite supply of Empyrean Grade weapons. Not just Empyrean Grade, but the Peak at that!
When those around watched as numerous flashes of light came from Dyon’s vajra body, their numbness almost became a dull pain. Tens… No, hundreds… Thousands? Of Peak Empyrean Grade cauldrons fusing into one like this…
Maybe somewhere in a past timeline, the sealed version of Dyon was bashing his head against a wall. He had never thought of fusing the weapon souls of his weapon’s pagoda with his weapons. The furthest he had gone was fusing them into his flames. In addition, he had no idea they could be layered in this way. It could only be said that he truly wasn’t familiar enough with his own manifestation.
But, this only made sense. After all, this was the restriction of unique manifestations.
[Author’s Note: Back during the Elven Kingdom Arc, the difference between hereditary and unique manifestations were explained. To keep this short, unique manifestations aren’t necessarily better even if they’re rarer because there’s no guide to them. One must figure out everything on their own.]
They thought that Dyon was crazy. Even if his vajra body had such a magnificent ability, what was most important was the container. How could an infant treasure spirit handle such a load?
Obviously… These people had no idea that Dyon had raised Little Chibi’s potential to the absolute limit of the God Grade. The only thing she was missing was the materials for her physical body to match up against her spirit.
As for taking on these thousands of peak empyrean cauldrons… she could even take on thousands more.
Dyon roared.
It was so savage that one could see blots of blood converging beneath the skin of his neck. It was clear that even if he hadn’t ruptured his vocal cords, there was most definitely severe internal bleeding within his neck now. Yet, he pretended as though nothing had happened.
Golden rings shot from his mouth the instant the beast flames entered, distorting against the cauldron like the ways of an ocean.
For a moment, it seemed like the cauldron would collapse. Its form savagely deformed, bending and twisting beneath the might of Dyon’s roar. But, the culprit just looked on in complete indifference as though he didn’t care about Little Chibi’s life and death.
[Frolicking Beasts of Heaven and Earth].
Compared to humans, beasts were recognized by the Heavens to a much greater extent. There were many talented beasts on the Immortal Plane who could do nothing but eat and sleep, yet grow incredibly powerful.
Even though beasts on the Immortal Plane had shattered their ‘chains’, Dyon, who had awakened his memories, knew the truth. These chains were only a superficial mortal shackle. Though they might not be restricted by something as obvious as a personality type, they were still restricted nonetheless.
Simply put, alchemy was the process of snatching the will of the heavens. There was nothing better at appeasing the heavens than beasts.
So Dyon thought… why not use beasts then?
This was how his technique was formed. It was a technique he was proud to say was unparalleled in the field of alchemy until his own student came along and created one that didn’t lose out to him in the slightest.
This result left him greatly amused and even a bit proud, if he could have any more of such an emotion considering who he was. But, it also filled him with fighting spirit.
Even against his own student, he wouldn’t allow him to win.
BANG!
Little Chibi’s deforming body finally settled down. The final process had begun.
