Chapter 1271: The Golden Treasure House

Chapter 1271: The Golden Treasure House

Izroth halted his steps as he walked over toward the entrance to the building where the promoter of the treasure hunt spoke.

"Hello, dear guest. Are you interested in the Treasure Hunt? It is open to anyone. The only requirement is to come with gold coins. Ah, rare items are also acceptable for trade. We promise to give you a fair price." The promoter explained as he held out a pamphlet to Izroth.

He then continued, "All the information you require is in this pamphlet. If you have any questions or something you do not understand, feel free to ask any of the employees of the Golden Treasure House."

Izroth accepted the pamphlet from the promoter’s hands and examined it.

’A treasure hunt sponsored by the Golden Dragon Association... Interesting. With a name like the Golden Treasure House, they is no doubt that they are one of many businesses in Danaharpe supported by the Golden Dragon Association.’

In Amaharpe, there did not exist a single business with the word "Golden" in its name that did not belong to the Golden Dragon Association or was associated with them in some way.

Having the Golden Dragon Association as a sponsor acted as a form of protection and gave the business in question legitimacy. After all, no one dared to misuse the name of the Golden Dragon Association. Those who had done so in the past had all vanished from the Mortal Realm without a trace.

’This kind of event draws people from all walks of life. It’s a good opportunity to potentially gather some useful information. And, well, if I can earn some benefits in the process of doing so, there’s no harm in it.’

Izroth walked through the doors of the Golden Treasure House and was immediately greeted by two beautiful female attendants in a neatly kept uniform.

"Welcome to the Golden Treasure House, dear guest. We hope that you stay is comfortable." The female attendants said in unison with bright smiles and a friendly demeanor.

Izroth gave a small as he continued on his way inside.

The interior of the Golden Treasure House was impressive. The decorations were lavish in a tastefully extravagant way. Furthermore, one could not take more than a few steps without spotting an attendant standing upright with their hands neatly placed before them.

Whenever anyone had a question or looked troubled, the nearest attendant wasted no time walking over to offer their assistance.

Of course, in a place like the Golden Treasure House, the status of the guests present was glaring.

Those of high status, such as nobles, notable figures and wealthy merchants, were consistently followed around by at least two to three attendants. While most of the normal guest moved about the place by themselves.

Given his current appearance and the fact that he was hiding his identity, naturally, Izroth fell into the category of a normal customer.

Nevertheless, the attitude of the Golden Treasure House and its employees were admirable.

’If this were back in the Seven Realms, one would not even be able to step through the doors of a place like this without clearing displaying their wealth or power. Even then, that is the bear minimum. The employees won’t pay a single thought to those without an appropriate background.’

While there were still clear signs of a difference in treatment based on one’s status in the Golden Treasure House, they managed to do so in a way that did not make other guests feel unwelcomed or ignored.

Since there was still some time left until the start of the Treasure Hunt, Izroth took the time to take a casual stroll around the Golden Treasure House. During this time, he thoroughly read over the pamphlet he received earlier from the promoter.

The rules of the Treasure Hunt was simple. One could spend either 50, 250, or 1000 gold coins on something known as a Serva Stone. And, the more money one spent, the older the Serva Stone they could obtain.

Serva Stone was a special kind of stone. The value of Serva Stone itself was not high; however, it had a unique trait.

Serva Stone was capable of forming around objects or even living things that contained even the faintest traces of energy under certain environmental conditions.

The stronger the energy something contained, the greater the chances of Serva Stone forming around it.

Another trait of the Serva Stone was that it was able to flawlessly conceal the energy and presence of whatever it absorbed. In other words, it was impossible to tell what was inside of the Serva Stone until it was cracked open.

Unfortunately, not everything inside of a Serva Stone was a treasure or something useful. Since Serva Stone grew around things that contained even the faintest traces of energy, even something like a common-ranked plant could be held inside.

To make matters worse, even those with appraisal skills and magic items were unable to peer through the contents of a Serva Stone.

Because of this, there was an awkward timeframe where a Serva Stone existed in a state of being incredibly valuable and worthless simultaneously. One could never truly know until ti was opened.

The Golden Treasure House decided to take advantage of this and viewed it as an opportunity.

Every year, they held the Treasure Hunt and allowed people to purchase Serva Stones. They even had experts available to open them on the spot. If one were not careful, they could end up damaging whatever was contained inside of a Serva Stone. That is why very few people chose to risk opening it up in another place.

Ultimately, if someone received an item of great value, they could either sell it directly to the Golden Treasure House or place it up for auction. However, if it was an item of no value or something common, a profit was still made in the process. Either way, the Golden Treasure House would profit and walk away the victors of the exchange.

’This Treasure Hunt seems to be a famous staple of the Golden Treasure House. 50 gold coins per attempt is just the minimum to lure people in. Still, it’s not an amount the average person can afford. With the current conversation rate, that’s around 7,500 RMB. That kind of price is negligible for wealthy merchants and nobles. That aside, while some will certainly give it a try, most of them probably won’t even both participating in something like the Treasure Hunt. Those nobles and wealthy merchants main interest must be the auction being held after the Treasure Hunt.’

Unlike the Treasure Hunt, the auction being held at the Golden Treasure House could not be attended by just anyone. It required an invitation as well as an a having a certain level of finances at one’s disposal.

Izroth closed the pamphlet and headed over to a nearby glass display.

Inside of the glass display, sat atop a luxurious red pillow with golden laces and perched on a magnificent podium, was a silver crystal half the size of one’s fist.

’To think I would see a rare treasure like this sitting out so casually—this Golden Treasure House isn’t afraid to flaunt its wealth.’

The silver crystal in the case was something many blacksmiths would give their entire fortune to work with just one time—the Ore of Dreams.

"Are you perhaps interested in this piece?" A lovely voice sounded from behind Izroth.

"It is something most blacksmiths dream of working with in their lifetime. While I am not a blacksmith myself, even I understand that one can walk into any forge in the world with this in hand and the blacksmith would be willing to craft their item for free." Izroth said calmly.

"Your words are probably not wrong. This Ore of Dreams is a highly sought after pseudo-divine ranked material. Describing it was being easy to work with for a pseudo-divine ranked material does not do it justice. It is said that the Ore of Dreams follows the will of the craftsman, allowing them to create a masterpiece that puts all of their previous works to shame. It is also one of the items that will be up for auction today." The person who approached Izroth explained.

She then continued, "Ah, pardon my manners. I am Vexpela, one of the floor managers of the Golden Treasure House. It is a pleasure to meet your acquaintance, dear guest."

Izroth turned to look at the woman who approached him.

Unlike the attendants of the Golden Treasure House, this woman was dressed in a gorgeous dress with a golden dragon circling around it. She had long wavy light blue hair and a pair of striking eyes to match and held an unfolded black face before her face.

The woman appeared to be in her mid to late twenties, yet there was a certain aura about her that one had a difficult time putting their fingers on.

However, Izroth was certain of one thing—this woman who called herself Vexpela was not a simple floor manager of the Golden Treasure House.
