Chapter 1202: Registration
Chapter 1202: Registration
Izroth did not notice anyone following or observing him that would have relayed any information. If they were waiting for him to arrive, they would have been aware of his movements throughout Danaharpe.
Of course, there was always a chance that they knew that he would eventually visit the main Apothecary Guild building. However, the only place they could have started to track his movements was when he left the building where Nova resided in the Noble District. Though when traveling through the Noble District, Izroth made sure to cover his tracks carefully.
’Perhaps I’m being overly sensitive to things that seem out of place lately. Regardless, Yi Ying was still hiding by his side. If they are hiding something, it won’t be for long.’
After a few moments, Celia calmed down and let out a small huff.
"You should sign up for the grade four Apothecary promotion test before you meet with your friend. There probably won’t be too many participants this time around since everyone is preparing to observe the grade five promotion test today. But, the reception area usually gets pretty busy the closer it gets to that time. How tragic would it be if you got stuck waiting in line for your grade four promotion test. Forget about making it to the grade five promotion test, you wouldn’t even have time to visit the Wall of Pills." Celia warned.
"Then, I’ll sign up first. I’ve already sent a message that I’ve arrived. It shouldn’t take long for them to meet up with me. Still, are you really going to follow me around until the start of the grade five promotion test?" Izroth inquired.
"Of course! I have to see what you plan on doing with my own eyes. As an Apothecary, it isn’t easy viewing other Apothecary crafting methods, especially as a player. I’m fortunate enough to be a part of the Order of a Thousand Blossoms, who have no shortage of talented Apothecaries. But, other players are too stingy when it comes to sharing their knowledge." Celia sighed as she shook her head.
’That’s not surprising.’
Most players depended on their crafting method or pill recipe as a way of sustaining themselves. In other words, it was their lifeline and livelihood. Even sharing it to those closest to them was something they would be unlikely to do—let alone a complete stranger.
Furthermore, Celia may be a little dense at times, but she was no fool by any means. She knew that he could not casually reveal her identity as a grade four Apothecary. Otherwise, even if she was a member of the Order of a Thousand Blossoms, there would be no end to the recruiting attempts from the top guilds or other big player organizations.
Even someone like the Phantom Queen, Morrighan, had to deal with such a headache despite her overwhelming strength. Naturally, at first, Izroth was also not an exception to this rule. However, he had a card that kept the top guilds in check with one another in regards to recruiting him and that was the Mystical Realm Palace.
In the eyes of the top guild, the ideal outcome was that Izroth would side with their guild. But, the worst possible outcome was that he would go to another guild and immediately shoot them to the number one spot among the top ten guilds. This was not through strength or power, but rather the sole fact that Izroth and the Mystical Realm Palace controlled the distribution of 99.99% of the high grade pills on the market.
The top guilds understood that if at any point Izroth chose to support a single guild, they would only be able to fight for second strongest with the current circumstances. This was also one of the main reasons why some of the top guilds wanted to find a way to rein in Izroth’s influence. Needless to say, Izroth had no intention of following their will.
Izroth walked over to the receptionist area along with Celia. There was a small line of people in front of them; however, each person was being taken care quickly and efficiently by the staff.
As a result, in just a handful of minutes, Izroth reached the front of the line.
"Hello, Apothecary. My name is Mersa. How may I be of assistance to you today?" The young woman who stood behind the receptionist area said with a polite smile.
"I want to apply for the grade four Apothecary promotion test." Izroth stated.
Mersa glanced at the grade three Apothecary badge on Izroth’s shoulder.
"Understood. Please hand over your profession badge so that I may proceed with your registration." Mersa said as she held out her hands with her palms facing upward and overlapping with one another.
Izroth removed the Apothecary badge from his shoulder and handed it over to Mersa.
Mersa moved carefully and set the Apothecary badge gently onto the counter in front of her. The next moment, the tapped a simple silver looking ring located on the middle finger of her right hand before placing her right index finger and middle finger against Izroth’s Apothecary badge.
When she performed this action, a faint golden hue encompassed the Apothecary badge for a few seconds before disappearing without a trace.
Mersa carefully lifted the Apothecary Badge from the counter and presented it to Izroth with both hands held outward.
"The registration has been completed, Apothecary Izroth. It will begin in just under 15 minutes. Please be mindful of the time. If you are late by even one second, you will not be able to participate. Do you require a more in-depth explanation of the rules for the grade four Apothecary promotion test?" Mersa inquired.
Izroth took the badge and returned it to his right area as he replied, "There’s no need. Your assistance is appreciated."
"It is my pleasure. If there are any other concerns, please feel free to visit the receptionist area or locate the nearest employee for assistance. We are always here to serve. I wish you the best of luck on your promotion test, Apothecary Izroth. May the God of Craft guide your hand." Mersa said as she gave a small respectful bow with her hands neatly placed before her.
After he finished his registration, Izroth left the receptionist area and rejoined Celia, who had been waiting over at the side.
"The service here is different compared to the other Apothecary Guild buildings, isn’t it?" Celia remarked.
"It makes sense. The receptionists here deal with a large number of high grade Apothecaries compared to the other branches. Add on to the fact that Danaharpe has one of the largest noble districts in Amaharpe, they must be strict about having proper etiquette." Izroth stated.
There were thousands of Apothecaries that visited the Apothecary District every day—many of whom held noble titles. While Amaharpe could be considered rather lax among the seven kingdoms when it came to the social display of status between a noble and commoner, there were still a certain way they preferred to do things.
"Excuse me, fellow Apothecaries. May I have a moment of your time?" A voice sounded from nearby.
Izroth and Celia turned around toward the direction where the unfamiliar voice came from.
"Hm? Was there something wrong with the registration?" Izroth questioned upon seeing the person’s appearance.
The person who addressed Izroth was a middle aged man who wore the uniform of an employee of the Apothecary Guild.
Since he was approached so soon after leaving the receptionist area, naturally, Izroth thought that perhaps something went wrong with the registration process.
"Rest assured, sir Apothecary, the Apothecary Guild does not make such mistakes. I apologize for any misunderstandings. My name is Runmen. I have inelegantly approached sir Apothecary because of a request that was made of me to receive a certain individual and guide them to a reserved private area. May I ask if you are Apothecary Izroth?" Runmen inquired courteously.
"I am. The person who asked you to receive me—is it Apothecary Worldly Skies?" Izroth asked.
"It seems I have found the right person. Apothecary Izroth is correct. It is Apothecary Worldly Skies who has requested I guide you to the place she is working." Runmen confirmed.
"Then, lead the way. I am a bit short on time, so we will have to pick up the pace." Izroth said without hesitation.
"As you will." Runmen bowed respectfully.
He then stood upright and began to walk with hastened steps as Izroth and Celia followed close behind him.
"There are fewer than fifteen minutes until the promotion test begins. Are you sure you’ll have enough time to take care of things and make it there before it starts?" Celia asked with furrowed brows.
"There won’t be any issues with getting there on time. Besides, it won’t take long to finish what I have to do. And, the sooner the better." Izroth stated calmly.
As long as he used a few of his movement skills, Izroth was confident in reaching any place within the Apothecary Guild building in under ten seconds.
