Realm-Hopping Martial Master
Chapter 1359 - 720: Cooperation with the Demon Lord! Ten Thousand Gods Cave! (Part 2)
After speaking at length, Xi’e lightly shook her head.
"Enough, what needed to be said has already been said. I’ll make a move to help you conceal that gaze in the sky. You may leave now."
As her words fell, a wisp of hazy moonlight swept out, illuminating the surroundings and completely scouring away everything outside.
In merely the blink of an eye, when Jiang Shu, Taiwu Daoist Venerable, and the other experts came back to their senses, they discovered they had already appeared in another place.
And the ruins where they had been before were now far off in the distance.
"This is the Demon Lord’s method?"
Taiwu Daoist Venerable looked at the moonlight around them that had yet to fully disperse, his eyes filled with sighing emotion.
If not for the methods laid down on him by the True Martial Sect’s Daoist Master, he truly would have had no way to regard a Demon Lord’s lingering will as an equal.
A short while later, everyone suppressed the shock in their hearts. The Sect Leader of the Dan Fu Sect gently picked up the Jade Pearl in his hand and said, "Fellow Daoists, next, shall we give it a try?"
What he spoke of trying, naturally referred to the map within this Jade Pearl.
Without a doubt, this was the greatest aid given by Xi’e.
One had to know that even those of the Demon Race, even after exploring for a long time, likely only had a rough, superficial grasp of this place at best.
It was probably far inferior in detail and subtlety to the map in their hands.
"Since that’s the case..."
Taiwu Daoist Venerable infused spiritual power, and the Jade Pearl radiated light, then unfolded into a map.
He raised his hand to point at the map and said, "She once said that the white light points may symbolize the resources of the former Demon Race Heavenly Court. We can go take a look first."
On this, none of them had much objection.
After all, they were not common novices; naturally they would need to test it.
Whether the other side used an overt scheme or a covert one, they had to first probe and confirm truth and falsehood.
"Then let us set out."
The Daoist Venerables all sped off in one direction, moving with extreme speed. In only moments, they set foot within a certain valley.
This valley was riddled with all manner of spatial rifts, its aura grim and chilling. Ordinary cultivators, even a Daoist Monarch Demon Lord, if they were the slightest bit careless, could be directly sliced into fragments by a spatial rift and swallowed into the Void.
Yet these spatial rifts truly posed no harm to the Daoist Venerables present.
Where they passed was like Stabilizers sinking into the sea; the spatial rifts were mended and healed one after another, as the group delved ever deeper into this valley.
In just a short while, they saw within this place a half-collapsed gigantic floating island.
They saw that the island was densely inscribed with countless Dao Patterns, forming a broken Great Array. After the passage of years, instead of shattering, it seemed to have linked with the surrounding spatial fissures of heaven and earth, becoming all the more lethal and terrifying.
"This array is rather interesting."
Phecda Daoist Venerable nodded slightly and said, "If this Great Array were intact, only a Late Stage Daoist Venerable, or a standout among the Middle Stage, could force their way in."
As his words fell, Phecda Daoist Venerable bent his finger and flicked lightly. From his fingertips, countless halos of starlight shot out, then threaded into the gaps of the Great Array like needles finding seams.
Jiang Shu watched from the side, a faint realization stirring in his heart.
"If this Great Array were still in its original, complete state, it would likely be extremely hard to break into. But now, after years and the ravaging of spatial rifts, many gaps have formed, and this senior is now slipping through the branches and leaves."
In his eyes, strands of starlight emerged one after another, falling into the glow, and then he saw that densely woven Great Array begin to shatter and collapse layer by layer.
All of this was as natural as ice melting and snow dissolving, to the extreme.
"Alright, fellow Daoists, let us go in."
Phecda Daoist Venerable spoke at once.
The group continued forward, and wherever they passed, layers of killing intent surfaced; yet before these many experts, they were broken in an instant.
In only moments, they stepped onto this floating giant island and saw that within the half-collapsed palace, there stood one dim light after another.
"This is..."
The Daoist Venerables present instantly had their eyes light up, for within the collapsed palace atop the island, there were countless treasures stored.
Streams of resplendence rippled out, reflecting off one another, only slightly dimmed.
There were no fewer than a thousand treasures stored here!
Most were armor and weapons, their size entirely beyond what the Human Clan could handle.
The Heaven Puppet Sect Master flickered in a single step to stand before a suit of armor like a small mountain, repeatedly sizing it up, his eyes revealing a hint of interest.
"Fellow Daoist, have you discerned anything?"
"Quite something."
The Heaven Puppet Sect Master withdrew his gaze from the armor and said with a smile, "This truly is good fortune. Most are treasures usable by those at the Daoist Monarch level, with only a scant few that could be wielded by the Mixed Cave Realm."
"However, as for our Human Clan..."
He chuckled, and the many experts present immediately understood.
This floating island was clearly an armory!
It stored a great number of treasures, likely provided by the Demon Race Heavenly Court back then for its subordinates to use.
But perhaps because the invaders’ strength had been too overwhelming, these treasures had not been taken away, and thus remained stored here until now.
"Tsk, isn’t there Five Declines Poison here? Can these Dao Artifacts still be used?"
The Sect Leader of the Hidden Sword Sect asked with some doubt.
Back then, the Sect Leader of the Heavenly Puppet Sect had personally told him that puppets in this environment had their spirituality constantly being corrupted.
"They can!"
The Sect Leader of the Heavenly Puppet Sect nodded without the slightest hesitation.
"The reason my puppets are corrupted is because my Divine Soul is stored within them, so they are affected by the Five Declines Poison."
"These treasures, some have not yet been refined into Dao Artifacts, and lack Artifact Spirits. They retain their original form, so naturally they can be used."
"Moreover, the size of these treasures is much larger than what we use. If we throw them back into the furnace to remelt and recast, even if the cost is relatively great, extracting the essence..."
The Sect Leader of the Heavenly Puppet Sect also wore a smile on his face:
"Though we cannot use them ourselves, letting the Vientiane Realm Daoist Monarchs within our sect raise their strength by several tiers would be no problem at all."
Hearing this, the other Daoist Venerables in the hall all had their eyes shine brightly.
Perhaps just this single treasury alone could cause their subordinates’ strength to soar, raising their chance of survival.
After all, at this level, treasures, Divine Skills, and cultivation were all extremely crucial factors.
And before this, even when the Eight Great Sects opened their inner vaults and allowed cultivators to exchange freely, there had actually not been that many corresponding treasures.
At present, each Major Sect was using materials from slain members of the Demon Race and resources obtained in the Demon Domain, day and night without rest, to refine treasures.
They could barely keep up with the consumption of the war between humans and demons.
Yet now, with just this one armory, using it for remelting and recasting, the efficiency would be far higher than forging afresh!
Once they understood this, the Daoist Venerables present immediately began to compete; one treasure weapon after another fell into their hands and vanished quickly.
In only a short time, the treasures stored in this palace were swept clean. The Venerables, tacitly understanding one another, at once headed for another nearby stockroom.
This stockroom turned out to be an Elixir Medicine Room, but after the erosion of years, the elixirs stored within were already completely empty.
On this, the Daoist Venerables were not surprised.
Afterwards, several of those so-called white points also yielded some gains, but once split among the Eight Great Sects, each individual share was not too large.
A short while later, everyone turned their gaze to a crimson red point on the map.
"According to the record left there by the Demon Race, this place is called the Ten Thousand Gods Cave."
Taiwu Daoist Venerable spoke in a low voice.
At this moment, the light point representing the Demon Race party was already extremely close to the Ten Thousand Gods Cave; clearly that was their objective.
They had already perceived that the resources obtained from the surrounding white points—the Heavenly Court’s remnants—were just minor gains, or that those of real value had long since been taken.
Perhaps the things of truly great value, treasures that could be of immense use even to them as Daoist Venerables, lay within that Ten Thousand Gods Cave.
