"Make the arrangements!"

In the heart of the deep sea, within the Sea Race’s Dragon Palace, Empress Vanas began to issue her orders. The Divine Lord, Shen Fei, had just used three Red Heart As and three Black Spade As to forcibly open a portal and teleport away. In his wake, the game immediately updated to Version 4.8, prompting her to action.

As the Water Race, a people with a fixed mission, their duty was clear now that this special era had arrived once more. Beyond ensuring the survival of their race, they had another vital objective: to find the "Water God" of each era, pledge their loyalty, and guard them. In turn, they would be protected by the Water God.

Just a moment ago, upon seeing the Black Tortoise control the seawater, the vastly experienced Vanas had instantly judged that the creature—which Shen Fei had enhanced and raised to its highest level—was the strongest contender for the title of "Water God." Although this "Water God" had clearly pledged itself to a master and was under his control, the Sea Race didn’t mind this at all. In their long history, they had encountered "Water Gods" of all kinds of statuses. A Water God who served a master and was controlled by another did not affect the grand scheme of things. And so, Vanas had immediately knelt in reverence the moment she saw the Black Tortoise.

But to her surprise, the Water God’s master, that "Divine Lord," also possessed an item of Uniqueness. Moreover, it was a Black Spade A—an item capable of producing "bugs" that made the impossible possible. Vanas had guarded the Red Heart A for generations and knew the prophecies and functions of the four cards. This knowledge allowed her to instantly determine that the "Water God" they knelt before was undoubtedly the true Water God.

They had found the right one on their first try! According to the prophecy, the Black Spade A was meant to be in the hands of the person of destiny. And this person of destiny was the "Water God’s" master. Thus, Vanas instantly confirmed who they were meant to pledge their loyalty to. Upon seeing the "Divine Lord" Shen Fei use three temporary Black Spade As in one go, she was even more certain that the original Black Spade A was in the Divine Lord’s possession.

Now, seeing Version 4.8 update the instant the Divine Lord left through the passage opened by the Uniqueness item, Vanas immediately began directing her people and making all sorts of arrangements. Now that they had a Water God and a Divine Lord, their duty was to support and assist them, acting as auxiliaries for the coming chaotic era.

WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

At Vanas’s command, countless members of the Sea Race emerged from the Dragon Palace and began to bustle with activity. Some started to repair the two breaches in the Dragon Palace that Shen Fei had shattered earlier, while even more of them formed ranks and immediately went on high alert. Various defensive instruments were also quickly moved to the outer perimeter of the Dragon Palace.

Vanas didn’t know where the Divine Lord Shen Fei had gone. According to the function of the Red Heart A, the item would teleport its user to the place they most desired to go. She didn’t know what the Divine Lord Shen Fei desired most, but she knew that as the person of destiny, the Divine Lord would absolutely be safe. What she had to do was wait for the Divine Lord’s return.

At this moment, Version 4.8 had been updated. I’m sure the "native" humans of this planet must be completely astonished by the news. But she paid it no mind. Vanas now knew that the Divine Lord, Shen Fei, was one of this planet’s "natives." Therefore, her stance immediately shifted to align with the humans.

Lifting her head, her gaze passed grimly through the Shield above, staring at the passage to another Game World that had opened in the distance with the launch of Version 4.8. Vanas knew that among the Intelligent NPCs and Super Bosses with their own special objectives, some would inevitably be unable to resist the temptation and would venture into this new world to seek their fortunes.

The Sea Race had come to this planet with a simple goal: find the Water God and secure their powerful backing. That was why, after occupying the central region of the Pacific Ocean, they had only made a small show of force and entered a standoff with the NPCs and bosses, avoiding any major battles. However, she knew the goals of the NPCs and bosses weren’t nearly so simple. The ultimate goal of these beings was to completely wipe out the "native" humans of this planet. Before, the two sides had no conflict. But now, the Sea Race had chosen a side, and with that, an inherent conflict immediately arose.

WHOOSH!

While quickly arranging for her people to make preparations, Vanas turned her head to look up at the Dragon Palace being rapidly repaired. The Dragon Palace was not just the Sea Race’s residence; it was also their spaceship and their weapon. Previously, two invisible attacks from the Divine Lord Shen Fei had smashed two holes in it. Now, the power of this "weapon" was greatly diminished.

Vanas knew that with the update to Version 4.8, some NPCs with special abilities would be able to determine the Sea Race’s stance through certain means. Their position was now on the side of the humans, and their most powerful weapon—the Dragon Palace—happened to be damaged. Version 4.8 was already live, and Version 4.9, when the Intelligent NPCs and Super Bosses would emerge, was drawing very near. At this crucial moment, the Sea Race’s stance had just shifted to side with the humans—the very targets of the NPCs and bosses.

Vanas knew. War is about to begin!

They, the Sea Race, had found the Water God. And this Water God had a master—the person of destiny.
