RE: LORD OF TIME
Chapter 243: Change In Chaos Bloodline (Part 7)
"You..."
Kalsh wasn’t able to finish his words before his body dropped to the ground, and his life aura completely disappeared.
The man looked perfectly fine on the outside, but if anyone were to examine his body from the inside, they would see that his heart had been crushed into a pulp by an unseen force.
William stared at Kalsh for a second before his glowing red eyes returned to normal, and he stopped using Blood Manipulation.
He had actually tried to use Blood Manipulation normally to stop Kalsh when he rushed toward Eve.
However, he found that there was a lightning force inside Kalsh’s body that made it difficult for him to directly control his blood in an instant.
If he had enough time, he could have crushed Kalsh’s heart with Blood Manipulation, even without using Eternal Night to enhance its power.
But at that moment, the thing he lacked most was time, so he could only use Eternal Night.
Shaking his head, he sighed as the dome of darkness covering the area began to disappear along with the Blood Moon.
As the dome disappeared, William descended from the sky.
"Dadda!"
Eve, whom William had left outside the territory of Eternal Night immediately ran toward him upon seeing him.
William looked at the little girl running toward him and took a deep breath.
Stopping in front of William, Eve grabbed his hand and pointed to the side, looking anxious.
"Dadda! Dadda!"
"Hmm?" William looked in the direction she was pointing and saw Number One lying on the ground, covered in black blood.
Only then did he remember that Kalsh had blasted Number One away while it was trying to protect Eve.
"Don’t worry, he’s fine." William gently patted Eve’s head and brought her over to Number One.
Looking at its cracked skin and blood-covered body, he narrowed his eyes.
’Although not as powerful as Blood Lightning, that black lightning was definitely far stronger than ordinary lightning.’
He thought for a moment before Vermilion Flame ignited in his palm.
Using Vermilion Flame, he healed Number One’s serious injuries, making sure it wouldn’t die.
Seeing that Number One looked fine now, Eve’s eyes lit up, and she looked at William with shining eyes.
William chuckled slightly at the sight and patted her head.
"You stay with Number One. I will be back soon."
"Dadda!"
Eve nodded obediently and sat on Number One’s back.
Number One couldn’t help but groan and give her a look that seemed to say, Can’t you see I’m an injured patient? Hurry up and sit somewhere else!
However, Eve completely ignored its look and sat there innocently without moving.
William walked over to the now-dead Kalsh and looked at the Fire Mandawa lying beside him.
Apart from the Fire Mandawa, there was also the small black cube on the ground.
William first picked up the Fire Mandawa and was surprised to find that its surface actually felt cold to the touch.
He could see faint flames flickering across its surface, yet despite that, there was no trace of heat coming from the plant.
"How strange..." William muttered with a look of surprise before putting it away in his storage ring.
He shifted his attention to the small black cube that Kalsh had claimed was his Natal Artifact, and his eyes narrowed.
"Is it something similar to a Soul Armament...?"
He picked up the cube and examined it carefully.
However, to William’s surprise, he couldn’t sense anything extraordinary about it. The cube appeared to be an ordinary object made of hard metal, with nothing special about it.
Even when he used Aether Energy and soul power to examine the cube, it showed no reaction.
"I clearly remember seeing arcs of black lightning on its surface when Kalsh was holding it..." William frowned, a look of confusion appearing in his eyes.
’Could it be that only Kalsh could use this thing and that it became useless after his death?’
He thought for a moment before speaking to Eva.
’Eva, do you know what’s going on with this thing?’
Eva examined the cube in William’s hand and, after a moment, spoke.
’Give it to me. This thing seems quite complex. I’ll need some time to examine it thoroughly.’
’All right.’
William nodded, and the next second, the cube disappeared from his hand.
William looked back at Kalsh and searched his body to see if he was carrying anything useful.
But to William’s disappointment, he found nothing on him.
"How could this be? Don’t tell me he wasn’t carrying even basic supplies like food and water?"
William frowned and searched Kalsh’s body again. But just as before, he found nothing.
William’s eyes narrowed slightly as he thought about the small cube again.
’Eva, while examining the cube, also check whether it has a storage function.’
’Okay.’
William didn’t waste any more time on Kalsh and with a wave of his hand, Vermilion Flame engulfed the corpse.
In just a few seconds, Kalsh’s body turned to ashes, scattering with the wind.
William looked back at Eve and Number One. Seeing that they were sitting obediently in the same place, he took out the Fire Mandawa, and his eyes gleamed slightly.
"Let’s hope it’s enough to evolve my Vermilion Flame..." He muttered before placing his hand on the surface of the plant.
Immediately, the already impatient Vermilion Flame burst out from his palm and engulfed the Fire Mandawa.
Woosh!
The surrounding temperature instantly soared as scorching heat erupted from the Fire Mandawa, attempting to resist the Vermilion Flame that was devouring it.
However, the Fire Mandawa’s resistance was completely useless against the Vermilion Flame. One by one, the plant’s leaves were the first to be devoured by the fire.
William felt a warm current flow through his body as feedback from the Vermilion Flame, and his eyes lit up.
’The power of Vermilion Flame is increasing much faster than I expected...’
William suppressed the excitement in his heart and continued allowing the Vermilion Flame to refine the Fire Mandawa.
Around half an hour later, the Vermilion Flame finished refining all the leaves and began devouring the other parts of the plant.
William was sweating heavily because the Vermilion Flame within his body was currently in an extremely active state, and its power was increasing with every passing second.
Just then, William felt a jolt in his body, and his Chaos Bloodline began to boil.
