RE: LORD OF TIME

Chapter 235: Little Schemer

"Amazing!" Kalsh exclaimed in shock as he felt a tingling sensation across his arms.

He stared at the small bottle of light-yellow liquid before him and took a deep breath.

"To think the pure sap of a plant could have such a healing effect..." He looked at William and spoke in a serious voice. "Its effect is actually even better than that of most healing potions sold by the Green Tower."

"Really?" William raised an eyebrow in surprise before shaking his head. "It’s a pity there was only a single plant, and its sap was limited. Otherwise, I could have sold this stuff after we returned to Varhan City."

"Indeed." Kalsh also shook his head. "This quantity is too small. If you had a lot of it, you could even become an honored guest of the Green Tower, as they love collecting rare things that haven’t been discovered before."

William’s eyes flickered slightly as he glanced at the many bottles of healing potions in his storage ring.

The liquid he had given Kalsh to drink was obviously a healing potion.

However, to avoid revealing its identity, he had simply said it was sap from a plant he had accidentally come across a few days ago.

’So, the potions and a few pills I have could help me win over the people of the Green Tower, huh...’ William thought inwardly before putting the matter aside and focusing on the task at hand.

The reason he had given Kalsh some healing potion was to help him recover enough of his fighting strength.

With his hands broken, Kalsh would have been unable to fight against the Fire Spirits, much less help William steal the Fire Mandawa from the Superior Fire Spirit.

"You should be able to use your hands in an hour or two," William said after examining Kalsh’s hands.

Kalsh nodded and was about to say something when a small figure suddenly ran over to William.

"Dadda!" Eve grabbed William’s hand and looked at him pitifully, rubbing her belly with her other hand.

William was taken aback by her actions and spoke in a baffled voice.

"Didn’t you just eat? Where is all that food going?"

Eve didn’t care about what William was saying and immediately decided to try the idea that had come to her little mind earlier.

"Dadda!" Tears began to form in her eyes, and she looked as if she would start crying if he didn’t give her something to eat.

William’s jaw nearly dropped to the ground when he saw this, as he felt the scene was somewhat familiar.

’This... Why do I have the feeling that I’m looking at my younger self, who used to cry and roll around on the ground whenever Mother refused to buy me sugar-coated candy?’

The more William stared at the slowly gathering tears in Eve’s eyes, the more convinced he became that he was right.

If only she lay down on the ground and rolled around while flailing her arms, she would definitely look like his younger self.

’This girl... She learned how to act pitiful to get something from other people.’

For a moment, William didn’t know what to say.

However, to confirm his assumption, he still reached into his pocket and took out a small piece of meat jerky.

To Kalsh, it looked as though William had taken it out of his pocket. In reality, he had taken it from his storage ring.

As soon as he took out the meat jerky and handed it to Eve, the tears in her eyes instantly disappeared as if they had never been there in the first place.

William didn’t know why, but he even had the feeling that he saw a faint, smug smile on Eve’s face, as if her plan had succeeded.

’Confirmed... This brat has definitely picked up some bad habits.’ William’s mouth twitched slightly as he wondered where she had learned this trick.

He didn’t remember teaching her or doing anything in front of her that might have taught her such bad habits.

’Oi, Eva, you are not the one teaching this ignorant child bad things behind my back, are you?’

’As if!’ Eva sneered upon hearing him. ’She spends almost all her time with you. I bet she learned it from her Dadda. Maybe her Dadda was also a little schemer when he was a child.’

William was left speechless by Eva’s words, but there was still something he needed to correct.

’Don’t call me her Dadda.’

’Is that so? Then how about...’ Eva paused for a second before adding in a playful voice, ’How about I call you Brother Dadda?’

William clenched his fist tightly. If Eva had been in her deer form, he was sure he would have already roasted her until she was crisp and tender.

Seeing his expression, Eva even began to laugh loudly.

’Hahaha... Brother Dadda really is a good name! From now on, I will also call you Brother Dadda. Come on, Brother Dadda, give your pitiful daughter something to eat. Hahaha!’

William’s face darkened slightly, and he complained in a low voice.

’Can you stop laughing inside my mind like a second-rate villain?’

’Brother Dadda, you have changed. You never scolded me before. But now that you have Eve, your new daughter, you have completely forgotten your old one.’

William took a deep breath and, without changing his expression, decided to ignore Eva, who seemed to have lost her mind for some reason.

"Brother, is she your daughter?"

William looked at Kalsh and, after a moment’s thought, nodded.

"She was with me when I regained consciousness after my fight against that powerful Crawler. Although I have lost my memories, she’s been calling me Dadda, so I guess she must be my daughter."

"I see." Kalsh nodded and looking at William’s young face, he sighed. "You’re such a blessed person to have a daughter at such a young age. Look at me. I am already twenty-two, but I haven’t even held a girl’s hand yet, much less thought about having children."

"Oh..." William didn’t want to listen to this pointless talk about children. He was only sixteen himself, still far too young to be thinking about having children, so he changed the subject.

"Tell me more about that Superior Fire Spirit. It might come in handy later."

Kalsh’s expression turned serious at the mention of the Superior Fire Spirit, and he began explaining everything he knew.

Soon, two hours passed, and Kalsh’s hands had recovered enough for him to use them in battle.

"Are you ready?" William asked Kalsh as he looked toward the top of the volcano.

Kalsh nodded, and soon, the two of them headed toward the summit.
